About Bob Trombi

We are the Trombi Family, Bob, my wife Sybille (from Germany) and our 3 kids. We live in Gresham, OR and we love the Northwest. Our cabin is only 45 min away from where we live and we frequent there often for quick getaways, ski trips, one nighters and spring breaks! We love the mountains and rivers, hiking and exploring and you will to from this great base of a cabin on the incredible and majestic Mt Hood!

Why Bob Trombi chose Mt. Hood, The Gorge

We built this log home a few years back after falling in love with the Mt Hood area and this community of vacation homes and cabins. We love to go here and take walks and hikes along the Sandy River right out our door in summer and in the snow in winter. The beauty is unimaginable! We hope you enjoy this incredible spot!

What makes this chalet unique

This cabin is 1350 sq feet and lives large. You can stay in our upstairs master suite with sitting area, TV, DVD, cable and private bath with a nice king bed. This is a great place and has been for many couples, honeymooners and those taking a romantic weekend away. Outside the master is a double futon in the open loft. So one family can take over the upstairs with another family using the queen bedrooms and bath downstairs. The large great room with wall of glass overlooking the forest is a great treat with a large dining table to accomodate your big group!

Ideal for familes

  • 5 of 5

Great place for exploring the area! Very comfortable and perfect for families of all ages. My only suggestion for improvement would be to update the bed linens. Other then that it has everything you need to prepare meals. I love to cook so I was empressed with the ample selection of bowls and cooking utensils.

Fun Times

Rented the cabin for my daughter's 37th birthday, accompanied by our 9 year old granddaughter. The cabin was very nice, comfortable and cozy. Close enough to all mountain activities. Hot tub was nice. Easy access to the river for a nice walk. Enjoyed our stay very much!

Easy to find

  • 4 of 5

We had a relaxing visit and enjoyed the trails. Though not wheelchair accessible, with only two steps to access, a party member with limited mobility might still be able to enjoy this cabin. My mother would have loved this place. It is too bad firewood is not provided for the firepit. The grocery store wood was not well-seasoned. Even so, we did enjoy an evening around the fire.

Graduation vacation

  • 4 of 5

Nice property, clean and well stocked kitchen and laundry. The weather was rainy, so we cooked in the kitchen and bonded pretty good for having 8 people ranging from age 14 to 59. We could not make a fire outside because of the rain but a few of us still got in the hot jacuzzi and enjoyed it in the light rain. We got to play cards and board games that was in the house. That was surprising because the kids did not even turn on the TV.Wish we had more time to stay, there was a lot more the area had to offer. 6/14 -16/16

Great for a family, not for a romantic weekend.

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I stayed at this cabin for three nights. It was a great base of operation to explore the Mt Hood Forest.

The place was clean and ready for us upon arriving. We were looking for a romantic weekend, and this place is definitely more aimed at families. Three of the downstairs windows are not curtained in a way that allows for privacy from direct view of the neighborhood, and the hot tub is shadowed by two cabins very, very close by. This being said, it would be a great place for families. The neighborhood is perfect for kids of all ages with bikes. There are easy to travel trails to the river, and a nice (small) beach to greet you at the end. The neighbors are quite pleasant. Bob is really easy to work with, and he responds quickly to phone and email messages. There were small, but normal, maintenance issues as you would find with any rental and I am sure a quick message would see them resolved. I would recommend this cabin to friends with families very happily, but not to friends looking for a romantic couple or couples weekend.

Owner's Response: We have couples come for romantic getaways, honeymoons and anniversaries all the time and love the cabin, hot tub and community. Romantic Getaways are one of our main draws as we offer an amazing off season rate of only $99 a night like we did here. It would be hard to find such a cabin for that rate on Mt Hood with the amenities we offer. Our caretaker lives 2 houses away for any maintenance issues, yet she was never called. Thanks for staying!
