About Bradley Flanagan
A former entertainment industry executive Brad has been entertaining and accommodating guests and clients for over 25 years. Brad lives on the property in the guest house with Sofia, a 6-year old puggle. Brad grew up in San Diego, has lived in Los Angeles, New York and Rome and is now making the Big Island his home.
Bradley Flanagan purchased this House in 2015
Why Bradley Flanagan chose Hawaiian Paradise Park
The Big Island and Puna specifically is a magical place. After traveling the globe and visiting Hawaii for over 40 years I chose Puna because it represents Old Hawaii, isn't filled with high rises, is far away from the "madding crowd", and is an ideal base for adventures, relaxation, or to get away it all. Come relax in a tropical paradise in this rural tropical setting.
What makes this House unique
Having the owner on the property is a big benefit. Although completely private, Brad is available to guests to answer any questions, remedy any house problems, and provide guests ongoing advice on adventures, restaurants, stores, beaches, and hikes on the Big Island.

Beautiful Jungle Retreat in Puna: Close to many attractions and adventures
I stayed here with my teenage daughter and teenage nephew in June. We were all very impressed with the property and the accommodations. It has the feel of a very private retreat, yet is centrally located in the Puna district within an easy drive of Pahoa town, Hilo area beaches/waterfalls/attractions, and when it reopens: Volcanos National Park; the areas of lower Puna which recently reopened are easily accessible also. Punalu'u Black Sands Beach and Papakolea Green Sands Beach are within a day trip, as is the Hamakua coast including Akaka Falls. The house is a cozy "cottage style" property but feels very spacious due to the vaulted ceilings, open floor plan, generous decking, and ample light. Beds are comfortable and the furnishings are attractive. The kitchen was very well appointed. We cooked most of our meals there and ate on the dining table on the covered deck. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained with lots of lovely palms. We enjoyed coffee in the morning from the two deck sitting areas, while enjoying the sounds on the jungle. Bradly was a gracious host and had a welcome basket of fruit and snacks for us upon arrival as well as water and Hawaiian coffee. He also had great tips for us for exploring the Puna area. We had three in our party and never felt crowded in the house, even two more would have been fine. If you are looking for a distinctive 2 bedroom rental centrally located in the Puna area I don't think you can do much better.
Wonderful Time in HPP
We had a great time at Brad's Hale. Brad greeted us upon arrival and showed us the house. Brad is very welcoming and helpful host. Our stay was comfortable with fans cooling the house during the summer days. This is a beautiful property. Don't miss out on visiting this side of the island because of the volcano and the current lava flow. You're safe here and the air quality was great during our entire stay of a week. Also, Brad mentions that the neighbors have roosters and they may bother some people. All 5 of us never heard them at night or morning when sleeping. If you don't like sounds at night, like coqui frogs, birds, and the occasionally rooster, just turn on one of the fans. You won't be bothered at all.
THANKS and MAHALO,BRAD!!!
Place was excellent everything we needed to enjoy very peaceful stay
Great place to stay if you want to get away from the crowds.
First Bradley is a great host. He thoughtfully provided some suggestions that my family really enjoyed, and was quick to respond to any questions we had. The house is clean and well maintained and the you feel like your in the middle of the rain forest. Bradley really made my family feel at home right away. He warned us about the roosters, but the sound of the roosters quickly blends into the sounds of the birds and geckos. It reminded me of the rainforest sounds I played for my son when he was a baby. The house is about a 15 minute drive to the local super market, and is within easy driving distance to Hilo, the Imiloa Astronomy Center, Rainbow Fall, and Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park. Would definitely stay with Bradley again next time we visit Big Island.
Brad is a great host, very informative regarding the island and things to do and places to go. The accommodations are great. Two bedrooms with very comfortable beds. We were there for 6 days and enjoyed our stay immensely. We will definitely recommend this property to our family and friends
Awesome property and manager
We used this property as our home base to explore the east side of the island. It was clean and we prepared. Bradley provided many great tips and suggestions
Tropical hideaway 4 miles from the ocean, 15 minutes from the airport, 20 minutes up to hill to Volcanos National Park, and 20 minutes to the "clothing optional" black sand beach. 1 acre of tropical splendor with owner onsite.
