About Jen & Richard Downes
We are a Canadian family, living abroad. While looking for a holiday home for ourselves, we fell in love with the Loire Valley and L’Ancienne Cure. We hope that you enjoy our holiday home as much as we do.
Jen & Richard Downes purchased this Cottage in 2019
Why Jen & Richard Downes chose Breil
L’Ancienne Cure is our holiday home that we escape to as much as we can for rest and relaxation. The history and abundance of activities attracted us to the Loire Valley, and of course the sprawling vineyards. A reasonable drive or train ride from Paris, and just 2.5 hours from Caen makes the Loire an ideal location.
What makes this Cottage unique
Enjoy the character and charm of a by gone era without giving up modern conveniences. Relaxing and peaceful location within a quiet rural village but within a short drive to a multitude of activities for everyone. Within the village there is a lovely bakery and a family owned chateau to visit. The garden is south facing and secluded, providing a great place to just relax with a glass of local wine. If you enjoy cycling there are routes that run right through the village.
