Great Secluded Woodland and Mountain Experience
This was the perfect place we were looking for - an out of town yet convenient and secluded, woodland and mountain experience. While we happened to have a couple staying in the twin cabin next door (Lewis and Clark cabins), together we were practically the only people in this 1900 acre pre-developed yet gated community, the Homestead, with lots of trees, elevation change, and meadows for use by the wildlife. Both cabins sit at the back of the development next to the national forest with views looking down to Whitefish Lake in the far distance. We regularly had both deer and elk sightings everyday in the development with both visiting the cabin at least twice during our week stay. The location itself allows a drive that gives a great experience of NW Montana's mountain range and prairie views. It is very convenient to mapped hiking trails located between Tally Lake and Whitefish.
The cabin was very spacious for my wife and I and another couple. It is very well appointed - I think they thought of everything (even bear spray for us to carry) - it felt like home. We enjoyed it so much that we decided we would hike first thing each morning, generally experience Whitefish and surrounding town's dining for late breakfast and lunch, and then relax at the cabin late afternoon through the evening. Upon our return to Whitefish, we will definitely be staying here again.
Don't Pass Up This Opportunity for Once-in-a- Lifetime Experience
Secluded, spectacular vistas, beautiful decor and spotless condition, well-stocked with amenities. Beautiful hiking opportunities on 2000-acre property, and close to Glacier Park.. Paul (on-site grounds manager) very helpful with activity ideas and local goings-on. Example of wildlife: black bear cub playing on service drive one evening, entire herd of elk joining us for dessert in back yard last eve. Thanks!....Bill, Martha, Noah, Courtney Sando
Luxurious Modern Cabin in the Woods
This is a fantastic property that made our trip to Whitefish and Glacier National Park even better! Kitchen and bathrooms had everything we needed. Decor was very cool. Grilling on the porch with a glass of wine after long days definitely hit the spot. Loved seeing wildlife in the yard and on the drive within the gates. Justin was very responsive, and check-in and check-out were seamless.
The only thing I'd mention as a heads up for others is that the property does feel quite secluded, which is a good thing for most people and what our group was looking for; however, I'm a bit of a scaredy cat, so I freaked myself out a few times, mainly from sounds/shadows/reflections :)
Great place...we'll be back!!!
The cabin was excellent and exactly what we were looking for. The setting is remote but still within a reasonable 15 - 20 min drive from Whitefish. The cabin is well stocked and we ended up cooking at the site most evenings even though we planned to go out. The beautiful setting was tranquil and relaxing.
The only comment on improvements is the cabin needs to upgrade it's electronics a little as the TV's are antiquated and we even had a tube TV in the master bedroom. These looked out of place in such a high end cabin with a Wolf range, SubZ fridge, and a tremendous amount of detail that went into the finish out and furnishings. It's a very small thing since the main attraction is looking out at the great view and enjoying the comfort of the cabin.
We have stayed in many Vrbo's and this was probably our favorite. We hope to be back very soon.
Beautiful remote location
This vacation was a dream come true for me. I had always dreamed of staying in a secluded Montana cabin, and I got exactly what I wished for...and more!! Our family of 5 stayed here in July 2019 and loved every moment. We saw elk every day, and one evening we saw over 30 at once. The cabin is beautiful inside and out, and honestly the pictures don’t do it justice. There are three separate back porches, one off each bedroom and one off the living area. One porch has two grills, a picnic table, and a fireplace. And if you love hummingbirds, they are plentiful off every porch! The kitchen had everything we could possibly need. We had amazing days in Glacier and in Whitefish. Justin, the property manager, answered every question very quickly and was always pleasant and efficient. I was almost in tears when we left and can’t wait to go back!
Glad you had a great stay!!
Please consider us again in the future.
