Charming and spacious home
This home was a fantastic find, perfectly located for our excursions into the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The home was more than spacious for our family of five, and within walking distance of several restaurants and shops in Peninsula. Some of the rooms are a bit bright in the morning, and there's noticeable street noise throughout the night, but don't let that discourage you from enjoying a charming rental.
Spacious, Cute, and Simple!
My family and I had a great stay at this property. It was cute and clean. Beds were very comfortable. There is a bit of road noise, but it didn't really disturb us at all. It was nice being able to walk to a couple restaurants and to the wedding we were attending.
The staircase may be a little precarious for a toddler running around, but we had no issues with our 11 month old crawler.
Loved the location and the decor. The only issue we had was dust. It was so thick everywhere. I had to clean the stairs and counter tops because I couldn't stand it. Not sure if it was because it hadn't been rented in a while or the air filter needing to be cleaned. I would recommend bringing allergy meds if dust is an issue with you. We needed them!
Wonderful Family Retreat
My family and I used the Woods Store in Peninsula, OH as our 'home base' for visiting the Cuyahoga National Park and Cleveland, OH. There were plenty of activities for our family between hiking and viewing the park, and trips into Cleveland for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and other destinations. We also enjoyed our meals in Peninsula at the Winking Lizard and Fishers. The River Light gallery below our rental also provided wonderful arts and crafts from local artisans. There is traffic on Main street, however, I would not let that stop me from staying at the Woods Store again. There is a very nice patio in the backyard that we used to sit out and enjoy the summer evenings.
House was extremely unique, eclectic and amazing. Our host Lois was awesome at keeping us informe
Our girls adventure group, the Mountain Mamas, had a great time staying at the Designer Barn. Loved the venue! We ate our meals in a different room every night including the outdoor deck. We really had a great time hiking Brandywine Falls, the Ledges, and visiting Beaver Marsh in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. We went into Cleveland to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and had our dinner at the Flats in Cleveland which was very cool. The house was amazing and we enjoyed every nook and cranny. Thanks so much to our host, Lois, who gave us special tips on things to do and helped us with everything we needed. Thank you Lois!
WHAT A GREAT GROUP to host! Glad you got to experience both our homes ~
