Location, Location, Location! The "Beverly Hills" of Portland.

Bedrooms 3
Space 2,600 sq ft
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 - 14 nights

About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Sleeps 6

A lovely, quiet, comfortable home for travelers, visiting executives or for those local folks that need a temporary place to stay while they are remodeling their home. It's turn-key ready and fully outfitted with everything you could need for a peaceful and relaxing stay. And the beds, they are uber comfy with down duvets, amazing linens and bed heaters for those chilly Portland nights!

Charming and bursting with character! 25 steps down from the street, to the front door, and built on 3 levels. The main level has the front entry (where you can leave your shoes), the living room with a gas fireplace, 2 bedrooms (1 king + 1 full), and 1 full bath with a claw foot tub. The upper level has the third bedroom, and the lower level contains the fully stocked gourmet kitchen, dining room with a second gas fire place, TV room with Netflix and Apple TV, 2nd full bath with a heated stone floor and a walk in shower, and laundry room which has beautiful Electrolux appliances (washer+dryer).

The Portland Heights neighborhood (AKA the Beverly Hills of Portland) is one of the oldest and most coveted in town. Located a mile up from downtown and surrounded by trees, this location simply can't be beat. It's very safe, and the houses are unique and beautiful, with the majority having been built in the early 1900's. It's a very walkable area, and there is an extraordinary hiking trail system less than 5 minutes away that literally go for miles. Walking downtown takes 20-30 minutes, walking to OHSU (via trails exclusively) takes 20-30 minutes, and walking to the charming NW 23rd shopping neighborhood takes 20-30 minutes. If you don't wish to walk, no problem because we have an excellent public transportation system (bus #51 picks up 2 houses away), plus free and easy street parking and quick access to freeways.

About Paola Dooly

I love Portland because it offers so much! There is so much beauty here in the Northwest, and there is such easy access to the magnificent outdoors. This is my home, and I live here full time when I'm not traveling.

I'm Canadian born, and I love learning about new cultures which is why I love to travel so much.

Please note that I'm currently in south America and it takes a little longer to respond than I normally would and this is due to the fact that the Internet does not work very well down here. Thanks for your patience!!

Why Paola Dooly chose Portland Heights

Well, it's a beautiful cozy home in the very BEST location in Portland. Tucked into the west hills and conveniently located to everything Portland has to offer. My home is very quiet, comfortable and filled with loads of positive energy. It's a private urban getaway retreat perfect for relaxing after a day spent in the bustling city and even though it's located in the city, it doesn't feel like it because the neighborhood is surrounded by beautiful old trees.

What makes this house unique

Guests love my home because it's quiet, peaceful and in an amazing location. It's filled with original art, very comfortable, clean and private. This is my home, it's not an ordinary rental but instead is unique, very special and my guests often come for repeat stays because they love it as much as I do.

Loved this home!

  • 5 of 5

My family of four really enjoyed our stay here. The home is SO beautiful in SO many ways. Classic Old Portland, and decorated in that spirit. Surrounded by trees, the neighborhood is very peaceful and quiet ~ even though it's minutes from downtown. The kitchen is well stocked and whatever we needed, we found right away. This was an incredibly comfortable home, that delighted us throughout the week. The owner Paola was communicative and available during our stay ~ she was terrific! When we return to Portland, we will definitely try to rent this house again!

The Sanctuary

  • 5 of 5

This is a singularly charming home in one of the coolest neighborhoods in Portland. We were there for a week visiting friends and family, re acquainting ourselves with the city we lived in for several years. The house is spotless, accommodating, and down to earth, in a very affluent area of town, with easy access to the best eating, shopping, vista viewing, and cultural venues the city has to offer. We had a lovely, comfortable, and serene time in this home (particularly after making some surprising rush hour traffic errors!); it was a welcoming and peaceful retreat.

Beautiful and well-appointed...

  • 3 of 5

Maybe too well-appointed for a VRBO! My family and I had no problem staying in this property filled with family heirlooms, but it was only for two nights and we really weren't there very much. If I were renting out a home, I would not put my precious items in it, and hope nothing happened to them...

There were many out of the ordinary amenities like bed warmers, but no coffee pot. I just felt like it really wasn't too user-friendly, but no way of knowing this when I rented it. I hope this can help others, especially with little children.

Owner's Response: Hello JoAnn, Thanks for staying in my home! I do have an excellent coffee marker, it's a very large stainless steel french press which makes fabulous coffee and it's big enough for 4 cups. Sorry you weren't able to find it apparently? Had I known I would have I would have worked with you on this. Yes, my home is filled with precious pieces indeed, that's because it's my personal home, and not an ordinary rental property. My many guests over the past 3 years (with one exception) have always left it in impeccable condition, and have appreciated and taken care of my art and family heirlooms. Thanks again for staying in my home. Paola

Lovely neighborhood close to downtown Portland.

  • 4 of 5

Lovely historic home in beautiful neighborhood. Exceptional beds. Nice garden. Upstairs loft bedroom definitely gets warm on a hot day. We we're a party of 5 and really enjoyed the garden sitting area. There could be some more comfortable seating in the living room and maybe more then one tv in the home.

Owner's Response: Hello Bettina, Thanks again for choosing to stay in my home and for the feedback too, it's appreciated! My apologies for having only 1 and not 2 TV's, it's our personal home and we simply don't watch much ourselves. The custom made, over sized down filled couch in the living room is usually incredibly comfortable, but if it's too soft, the two cane back chairs also in the living room offer a second seating option. So sorry these weren't comfortable for your party! Thank you once again for everything! Paola

Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time staying at Paola's place! It's in a beautiful neighborhood and very cozy. Paola made sure our stay was easy and comfortable. We really enjoyed sitting outside on the patio enjoying all the greenery. She had all of the household amenities that we needed and felt at home there. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends!
