Tucked back from the main road, our Fawn Cottage is quiet and private, with a lovely grove, gardens, large yard (by urban standards), and there are ample options for outdoor relaxing when the weather is fair. Alternately, when the Pacific Northwest offers it's drizzle, you'll be comfortable in this well heated home, cozying up in front of the gas fireplace and listening to the rain fall on the skylights. The covered car port will keep your car (should you have one) nice and dry on those rainy days.
You'll find a master bedroom with queen size bed and lots of natural light. French doors open to the front deck and peaceful grove. There’s an imac computer for your use - great for streaming movies.
There is a second room with another queen bed and view of the side yard.
If you need additional sleeping options, a single folding guest bed with linens is available upon request for an additional $25 per night. We also have a pack n' play for an infant. Please let us know in advance if you need any of these so we can be sure you have the right linens for all sleeping scenarios.
Down the hall is the bathroom with full bath and shower combo.
The kitchen is fully equipped, with an open dining plan that spills out French doors into the back patio-garden adjoining the yard where the gas grill is located. This space works as a great indoor/outdoor gathering place.
Step out and enjoy a beautiful evening under the stars in our 3 person hot tub or around the fire pit in the patio-garden by the studio.
Fawn Cottage has a delightful mix of deep green, moss, and natural sunlight. We think it's perfect. We might have a slight bias, but still.
There is a trampoline. Our insurance carrier requires all individuals to sign a liability waiver before jumping on. So please connect with us in advance to do that paperwork. Brain injuries and broken bones are strictly prohibited. :)
There are musical instruments about – a piano and sometimes a guitar on the wall. You are welcome to play them, we just ask that you treat them with care.
You’ll also find a record player/stereo, with a great collection of vinyl. You are also welcome to spin a few tracks on the ol’ turntable, roll up the rug in the living room, and spin your partner a few times.
Please note that we do have all the closets locked in the home. Because of this inconvenience we have conveniently located hooks and coat hangers throughout the house for your use in hanging your fancy things. Any of our other private spaces unavailable to you are labelled clearly and/or locked. We do hope you will be able to kick back, relax, and feel at home in our home.
Please note that we have a small backyard guesthouse that may be in use during your stay and would be sharing any outdoor amenities. The building is completely separate with its own access, (but is located near the cottage in the backyard) so should cause little to no inconvenience for you. We ask these guests to park on the street. You can add it to your Cottage stay for an additional fee should you require more space.
INTERACTION WITH GUESTS:
When not at the cottage, we live aboard our boat, just a hop, skip and a jump away. We are here to make sure your stay is comfortable and enjoyable. You'll have our phone numbers and we ask that you don't hesitate at all to call or text with any questions and concerns.
Fawn Cottage is a 10-15 minute walk from the Seattle ferry, a 25 minute walk to the quaint village of Bainbridge Island (sometimes referred to as Winslow) and only a 5 minute walk to our up-town shopping area: Ace Hardware, McDonalds, Walgreens, Safeway, Family Restaurants & of course a Starbucks. In a car or on a bike, it's all moments away. The neighborhood is full of kind, working families and it's quiet. The place has a unique blend of being close in, while feeling a bit further out.
As stated above, the village and the ferry to Seattle are walk-able. There are also taxis for those of you without a car. If you have a car, it's easy going and there is much to see on the island. Bicycles are a great way to see the island - either on your own, or renting one through Classic Cycles. We'd be happy to give you many recommendations of things to do in the area.
We ask that you please respect our home and treat it as if it And we kindly ask that you abide by these following rules:
-please be respectful of noise levels, especially outside, and especially between the hours of 10pm and 8am. We live in a quiet neighborhood and have good relationships with all our neighbors. We'd love to keep it that way! :)
- no smoking in the home or on the property.
- sorry to be the party pooper but no parties or events unless discussed with us in advance.
- absolutely no guns or illegal drugs on the property.
- please lock the house when you are not present, and at night (we live in a very safe area, but for insurance reasons we need to secure the home, thank you)
- while we love animals please don't bring your own - we've found no one wants to be around us when we're sneezing all over them
- enjoy the hot tub, but please no “funny business”, food or drink in the tub! It clogs the filters and makes the tub unusable for other guests. We will deduct the cost to clean and refill the tub from your damage deposit if we find this has happened.
- Use the hot tub, trampoline, grounds at your own risk. We have a waiver you will need to sign before using the trampoline so please let us know in advance if you do plan to use it.
- you are welcome to play any instruments that are hanging or out in plain view - we ask that you do so with care and respect. Please no Stairway to Heaven.
