About Steven Read
Jenny and I first bought our holiday home in Normandy in 2007 and always wanted somewhere with a little cottage that we could renovate and rent out for holidaymakers. As such we renovated Trinabelle in Oct 2010 and have had many guest who have enjoyed their holidays there ever since.
Steven Read purchased this Cottage in 2007
Why Steven Read chose Le Neufbourg
We were attracted to this part of France as it is relatively easy to reach from England and we also love rural green rolling countryside which this area of Normandy offers in abundance. As we are both quite active and enjoy walking, cycling and running the location we chose is ideal for all these activities.
What makes this Cottage unique
Our favourite things about the cottage and the area are the 2 beautiful waterfalls within such a short walk. Trinabelle herself faces west and it is wonderful on a warm summers evening to either sit on the patio just outside or throw the door and the window open and relax on the sofa and watch the sunset.

Enjoyed our stay. Great location. Good communication prior to our visit and friendly host. Had a great holiday.
Quite basic but most things needed were there, could do with a nicer patio area with shade.
ideal location for walking, cycling and cultural visits
The cottage, though basic was perfectly adequate for our needs. Self-catering was easy enough, information about local services and attractions was good and the owners were helpful and discreet
Ideal getaway for couple, quiet, cosy and in a lovely part of Normandy.
Ideal getaway for couple, quiet, cosy and in a lovely part of Normandy. Close to all amenities in town. Great leisure activities including foot and cycle paths within a couple of minutes of property. Very helpful owner with a wealth of knowledge and patience. Well placed for all Normandys tourist attractions, beaches and historic towns.
Nice simple clean cottage in good location.
As we arrived on a Saturday (from Uk, so pm) a small welcome pack would have been helpful- just some milk, a baguette and some toilet roll.
We stayed for a week in this garden guesthouse, and found it to be very comfortable. It is an excellent place to stay in order to see the Normandy countryside. Visiting the WWII beaches, the WWII cemeteries, Mortain, Mont St. Michel, Bayeaux, Granville, Cancale, St. Malo, and the many surrounding villages are all fairly short drives away. Especially appreciated was the garage to park the car, as one was needed on this vacation. There are many trails around for hiking, and also a running/hiking trail on the bed of the old train tracks nearby. We hope to return to this area in the future and would definitely contact the owners to stay there again.
Really glad you enjoyed your stay Sharon and we look forward to welcoming you again in the future. Steve
Le Neufbourg is a small bourg village 1 mile north of the market town of Mortain. The area is most famous for its 2 magnificent waterfalls, La Petite Cascade and La Grande Cascade (both a short walk from the house). The area is well suited for walkers and cyclists as the GR22 long distance footpath runs close by and there is easy access to a cycle route that follows the path of the old railway as far as Mont St Michel. There are several bars/restaurants and boulangeries within walking distance of the house. In the local area there is the chance to enjoy other activities such as the open air swimming pool in the summer months, go karting, tennis, cinema, zipwire course and rock climbing. Further afield there are indoor pools, canoeing and Hackett bungy jumping. Beaches are within an hour as is the historic Mont St Michel. Granville port (within 1 hour) provides access to the Channel Islands. The area is also a good base to visit the WW2 landing beaches, Bayeux tapestry and St Malo.
Other Activities: Zip wire adventure park, Go Karts
