About FIona Barkham
We have owned our house in Puerto Pollensa since 2002. Our two girls have grown up with the house and so we feel that the added extras for children are appreciated by our clients. We are happy to say that we have many families who have been coming to stay in 'their second home' now for many years - which is the best testament we could have.
FIona Barkham purchased this Villa in 2002
Why FIona Barkham chose Pollença
It setting is beautifully quiet and secluded yet only 5 minutes from the port. The view of the monastery from the garden at sunset and the sounds of the cicadas and owls make this a little bit of heaven. Cycling from the front gates with back routes to the beach or hopping in the car to go for a sail from the nearby marina, or a round of golf at one of the two golf courses nearby is great in the summer or winter - when of course the nearby walking makes the location an all year round retreat.
What makes this Villa unique
This property is unique in its ability for multiple families (or generations of the same family) to be able to holiday together whilst retaining some individual space. With all but one of the rooms on the ground floor and a seamless transition from inside to outside, for those with a disabled member of the party it is one of the few properties that enable the whole family to stay in a discretely accessible paradise

Fantastic property and a great holiday
Not the owner’s fault but was asked for some cash on our arrival for tax. I think Home Away should make this a little clearer. Albeit it pops up on a bill statement at the end of paying but doesn't tell you it's not calculated in the total price you’ve just paid. Anyway, the property was perfect for the 10 of us and is all very nicely laid out. My wife noticed the built-in coffee machine in the pictures and was quite looking forward to trying this out, but sadly it doesn’t work. The other facilities were great and was nice to have a water machine and several fridges. The outdoor kitchen was perfect for us because we ate out there every night we didn’t go out. Check out time was 10am but don't expect a lie in as the gardener thinks it's funny to start strimming at 8am right outside your bedroom door first, then later move away from the property! Probably a plan to get you up and out. I think the price is reflected in the property you get so you won't be disappointed. I emailed Katarina the housekeeper for some help and within 5 seconds she was there, she lives next to the pool behind a line of trees, very handy. We had a fabulous time in this amazing property and thank you again to Fiona the owner and Katarina.
Thanks Matthew, I agree the stay tax should be clearer - in fact I am working with Homeaway now to sort this. On the gardening on the last day as you know we love the property to look fantastic on arrival which is why we have a team of up to 6 gardeners who work through the day on Saturday to make sure it does so .... I have asked them to do some of the quieter jobs first !
Stunning, peaceful, luxury
La Paloga is a beautiful property, the villa and all rooms are fabulous. The grounds are stunning and views are gorgeous . Sitting by the wonderful, large pool with lovely views of the surrounding mountains and countryside ensures pure relaxation. You can happily have several families staying at the villa and not feel ‘on top’ of each other. There are so many places to sit in the sun or the shade. The outdoor kitchen is brilliant and again you can happily sit everyone around the large, beautiful, wooden table. Katarina is always discreetly on hand to assist with anything and is lovely. Another huge bonus is it’s location - short drive or bike rides to the port, beach or old town. We will most certainly be back again!
so lovely to have you visiting again - really hope you will enjoy the house again soon
Quality with taste
Our third stay at La Paloga and we never fail to be impressed with the gentle and calm atmosphere of the villa. Its design and quality of all the furniture and fittings are very evident. Great support from the housekeeper is also reassuring. We will be back I'm sure.
Thank you so much for visiting us again, so pleased you had a tranquil stay. Look forward to seeing you again soon
It was an excellent experience.
The property was in excellent condition and clean. I hope we had another opportunity to visit Majorca and stay again in La Paloga.
Thanks so much for the review Luis, very pleased you enjoyed your stay and look forward to seeing you all again. Fiona
An idyllic property in a magical setting
We were a family party with ages ranging from eighty to eleven yet there was something for everyone. Photos cannot do justice to the setting.
The property was beautifully clean, large airy rooms including eating areas in all aspects.Katerina is a star, charming and helpful way beyond the call of duty, also a wonderful cook.Tennis court and pool excellent, bikes recommended. We loved every minute,go there!
Couldn't have been better !!
This is our second visit to La Paliga and once again we weren't disappointed
Eleven of us stayed, spanning three generations and there was ample room for us all to do our own thing without getting under each other's feet.
The pool is huge and the slide a big attraction for all ages. We had it heated which was well worth the extra money and the way it is set out with low metal ornamental fencing round it makes it particularly safe for the younger members of our family
We ate outside all week as the outdoor kitchen is a real bonus and extremely well equipped
Can't praise the House Keeper Katarina, highly enough. She was most helpful and always discreetly there if we needed anything. The children loved her, as we all did
I think the whole experience can be summed up by Kate and Maria who said " mum, when you ask us what we want for Christmas, can we say we want to come back here!"
A sentiment echoed by us all in one word can only be SUPERB !
