About Barbara and David Desborough
I live in Kent with my husband David Desborough. My husband is a photographer specialising in weddings , portraits and landscapes , and we spend most of our holidays each year at our home in Trencall. I am a media headhunter based in London. Javea is such an easy place to take amazing photographs and the villa is full of photos of the area and our family. We have made many wonderful friends in Javea, and miss it very much when we have to return to England. We have been going to Trencall ever since our children were babies and they are now married. They still love staying with us every year at the villa, which must say something about our home in Xabia. Always something to do whatever age group, you just adapt to the ever growing , changing family.... We are now grandparents ourselves and our grand daughter adores Javea and Trencall and everything that Spain has to offer.
Why Barbara and David Desborough chose Trencall
Trencall was owned by a Spanish doctor who used it as a retreat from Valencia as it is so peaceful, without being remote. We fell in love with Javea and bought the villa when our children were very small. and have continued to spend every year there. They are now in their 30's and still holiday with us, as it is their second home and they still love it. The pool is large and surrounded by lawns and trees which is lovely to lounge around. Driving from the villa into the bay of Javea it looks like a fairy town with the twinkling lights. I will never get tired of that view. Each night when we come back from the centre of Javea, with all the bright lights and bars, it's lovely to sit round the floodlit pool, having a cool drink, listening to the crickets and taking in the smell of the jasmine and dama de noche.
What makes this Villa unique
The villa is in a tranquil part of Javea which allows us to get away from the hustle and bustle of London, where we both work, but it's still close enough to enjoy the nightlife of Javea. We love having a BBQ in the evenings but also spending time "people watching" on the Arenal or Port. There are some lovely bays close by, especially Tango Bay, which I call my "Shirley Valentine" escape. There are hundreds of bars and restaurants to suit all pockets and from the time the children were tiny, through to their teens, twenties and now thirties, there has always been things for them to see and do. Hence they still come away with us. Many of our friends now join us as they have all fallen in love with our home, but also Javea. It really is quite a magical place that everyone wants to come back to. We are a licenced villa VT-475061-A which means that you are totally secure in the knowledge that we have met all the legal requirements for renting out our villa safely to all our guests. We take security , privacy and safety very seriously.

Brilliant family villa
Lovely well kept villa and garden offering plenty of space for families. Large pool with good quality sun beds enabling us all to have a good swim and pool towels provided . Quite location although only 10 mins from Arenal Beach with its great bars and restaurants. Very good communication from the owner Barbara. Would definitely stay here again when we next visit Javea .
Sandra Hi Thank you so much for such a lovely review. So pleased you enjoyed the pool and gardens, I agree its lovely and quiet there which we love, but so handy to be only 10 minutes away from the beach and also the port and town are close. You are very welcome to stay any time. Patty was delighted with how clean and tidy you left everywhere. Hope to hear from you again. Kindest regards Barbara
Lovely villa in a beautiful area
We spent a lovely week staying at this villa. The location is great and the outside space esp the pool is fab. The owners are lovely and always very quick to respond to any questions or queries. You will be sure to have a perfect holiday if you choose to book this villa!
Stacey Hi. Thank you so much for your lovely review. Delighted that you enjoyed Javea. It is a very special place to us which is why we still love staying there. It covers all ages. Patty remarked how spotlessly you left our home. Would love to hear from you again in the future. Kind regards Barbara and David
PERFECT IN EVERY WAY
THIS WAS OUR FIRST STAY IN THIS VILLA AND WE WERE NOT DISAPPOINTED. THE
INSIDE WAS SPOTLESS WITH EVERYTHING
THAT YOU MIGHT NEED AND MORE. THERE WERE PLENTY OF EXTRA TOWELS AND A
WELL EQUIPPED KITCHEN SO WE WERE REALLY SPOILT!
THE OUTSIDE WAS PERFECT, SO PRIVATE , NOT OVERLOOKED AND TOTALLY PEACEFUL
WITH ITS OWN POOL. AGAIN WE WERE SPOILT FOR EVERYTHING WE MIGHT NEED.
PERFECT IN EVERY WAY. THANK YOU BOTH.
Perfect location for a stay in Javea!
This was my third visit to Trencall and the first with my family. Barbara and David maintain the property and grounds to a very high standard and is the perfect place to stay for a visit to Javea or the surrounding area. Our son had a perfect sleep every night in the travel cot which was supplied and also made use of the high chair. The property is suitable for everyone, couples and families alike as well as those who wish to visit Javea town frequently or to just enjoy the surroundings of the property. I am sure that we will be back again soon!
Adam Hi Thank you so much for your lovely review. It's so nice that now you have a young family of your own you have revisited Trencall and still enjoy it there. As you say it's suitable for all ages. Our children enjoyed the villa and Javea from 3 years of age and throughout their teenage years and now have their own family and still love it. Hope to hear from you again. Kind regards Barbara
Villa Trencall
A lovely villa with a very homely feel. The large pool is very clean and we'll maintained as are the beautiful gardens. We particularly loved the bar area outside. Also in a good location. We would definitely love to stay again in the future.
Deborah Hi
Thank you so much for your lovely review and I loved the photo of your family in the pool. Would certainly love to hear from you in the future.
Kind regards
Barbara
Wonderful place to holiday
The villa was excellent and peaceful but within easy reach of all beaches and towns.
The pool was bigger than we had realised allowing for many fun days in the sun. Although our 6 year old struggled to stand up in the shallow end but she loved it !
A car is a must to get round and properly enjoy the area and all it has to offer.
No air con could be a problem in the height of summer but the many fans help.
Thoroughly recommend this villa to all including families.
Kevin Hi. Thank you for your lovely review. It does give a very realistic view of our home.
I know what you mean about Air Con and we are seriously considering it but initially we are putting in Central Heating this Autumn as it can get very chilly in the winter.
I am so delighted you all had such a good time and hope to see you back in Trencall some time.
Kind regards
Barbara & David
Map
Coast/Beach:
Approximately 10-15 minutes drive away are a number of beaches and bays. There is a small pebble beach directly in front of some interesting bars and restaurants in the old port. The main beach lies a short way to the south of the port and is most attractive, with a wide stretch of golden sand and plenty of bars and restaurants running the length of the bay.
Travel:
Car hire is essential. The airports of Valencia and Alicante are equidistant from Javea and approximately 100 kms away.
Distances:
Javea lies midway between the international airports of Alicante and Valencia just over an hour away. Within a short drive from Javea there are many delightful villages worth visiting as well as the larger resorts where you can enjoy the theme parks of Terra Mittica, Aqualandia, and safari parks of Vergel and Aitana.
Further Details:
Trencall is a very sort after part of Javea (Xabia) on the Cabo de La Nao peninsular. There is a restaurant at each end of the road within a few minutes walk. Amenities such as supermarkets, tennis, golf, mini golf, green bowling and many water sports are all within a short driving distance. Javea has hundreds of restaurants and bars catering for all tastes and pockets. There are small bays, a working fishing port, a luxurious marina and a beautiful golden sandy beach with waterside bars and restaurants running the length of the bay. In addition, for those with nightlife in mind there are several discos open in the summer months. There are also excellent facilities for sport: golf, tennis, go-karting, windsurfing, scuba diving, jet-skiing, surf-boarding and horse riding. Javea has two Fiestas each year- the first in June in Javea Town and the second in September in the port. Both include colourful processions, dancing, bull running and firework displays. Terra Mittica and Aqualandia are close.
Other Activities: Green Bowling, Shooting, Cinema, Go-Karting, Trampolining
Golf: Javea boasts a beautiful 9 hole golf course at the Club De Golf on the Benitachell road, and an eighteen hole course at La Sella near Pedreguer.
In the port area there is an interesting modern church, a luxurious marina and a splendid working fishing harbour which attracts both visitors and residents particularly when the fishing boats are landing their catches. Javea has a picturesque town up on a hill, which is the original mediaeval settlement. It features a fortified church, a stone built indoor market and narrow streets with typically Spanish houses. Above, there rises the impressive Sierra of Montgo. There are also excellent facilities for sport: golf, tennis, go-karting, windsurfing, scuba diving, jet-skiing and horse riding. Javea has two Fiestas each year- the first in June in Javea Town and the second in September in the port. Both include colourful processions, dancing, bull running
