About Karl and Daphne
As a young family we had a happy 20-year trading in the remote Zulu Kingdom of South Africa. Being politically displaced in 1980 we left to semi-retire on the North Coast near Durban and another 15 years of “part-time-farming” our extensive Beef Ranch in remote northern Natal. Having more leisure time, we toured extensively and whilst in Europe we fell in love with the Algarve, and promptly acquired a holiday villa, which inevitably in 1995 became our permanent home. Having acquired more holiday properties to rent out we now enjoy meeting guests from around the world, many of whom are now our dearest friends.
Karl and Daphne purchased this Cottage in 1992
Why Karl and Daphne chose Alcaria Cova
The Ria Formosa wetlands and offshore Islands being a protected world heritage, our part of the Eastern Algarve is fortunately spared from mega tourist developments and consequently remains more traditionally Portuguese; the most friendly and polite people you could ever wish to meet. An idyllic easy-going lifestyle, festivals, village markets, offshore islands with endless golden beaches, crystal waters and all year sunny blue skies
What makes this Cottage unique
A very peaceful country locality, elevated location set in natural shrub land all around, for unwinding in ultimate relaxation. With stunning coastline sea views and the offshore islands beckon with uncrowded sun-drenched beaches Easy access to village shops and affordable restaurants, also several beaches, sport activities and entertainments just a short drive away.
