Excellent Location and Good Value
David Sutcliffe the owner met us on arrival and was always available to help. House well equipped. Great to have courtyard out front and Pedro's 20 meters away for coffee and snacks. But if David wants to maintain rating should have warned us beforehand that the building next door was being renovated. Also as weather very hot during our week stay should have ensured better fans were installed as well as cotton sheets (not synthetic).
It's a competative market and small things count.
Thank you Ray for your Review.
Concerning your comments:
- the sheets, my wife has confirmed they are all cotton
- we have more fans, if required do ask. Also these are not fixed fans and can be moved around the house as required
- the works next door, we have no control over them, you were unfortunate if there was a lot of banging etc. Also most guest are usually out of the house enjoying Cascais during a normal working day. It was unfortunate that the week you were here was so hot and therefore assume you wanted to rest in the afternoons.
If of interest this September here was the hottest ever recorded since records began over 100 years ago!
Best Location in Cascais!
My family and I stayed in David's home for 6 nights and it was an absolute dream! First off, it's in the BEST location! The home is nestled on a quaint and quiet street but it is just steps from the beach and shops! David was the most incredible host. On the first day, he took us on a tour of Cascais and pointed out the best places to eat! He also arranged for a car service to take us to and from the airport at a fabulous price. We cannot wait to return to David's beautiful home!
Lovely town house
The house is situated in the historic part of the town, which is close to the bars and restaurants but also surprisingly quiet. It was an excellent property to retreat to after spending the day visiting the sights or relaxing on the beach.
The property had all the facilities we needed for self-catering. It was clean and exactly as described in the details.
David was helpful and responded to all the questions I had in the lead up to our holiday. He was also very kind in offering to collect us by car from the train station on our arrival as it was a particularly hot day. He also arranged our transfer to the airport.
I would recommend this property to anyone who plans to stay in Cascais.
A well equipped house in a wonderful location.
This was our sixth stay in Town House, sometimes with young children. It is situated close to the beach, park, museums and restaurants so there is ideal for all ages. Well recommended.
This property is excellent -just as described in the listing. It is very near the beach and a range of nice restaurants. David the owner was very helpful. He showed us around the house and the town and arranged transport for us on our departure. The house was spotless and all appliances were working. I would definitely stay here again
SO good, we keep coming back!
I've lost track of how many times my elderly mother and I have stayed here! This lovely house is clean and comfortable, equipped with everything you could need (for a long-term stay, not just a week), and we highly recommend it. Being an insomniac, I particularly appreciated the shutters and black-out blinds for total darkness.
The house is central, yet quiet at night. We were able to walk to everything, from small shops to the Jumbo supermarket, lovely beaches, parks, the marina, market and a host of lovely places to eat and drink. The owner, David, couldn't be more friendly and helpful so just ask and he will guide you on the best places to go and how to get there.
The nearest beach in the Bay of Cascais is 100m from the house, other beaches on the Cascais/Estoril coast are within easy walking distance. A few minutes drive away is the magnificent, spectacular Guincho coastline, with sandy beaches and rocky coves. Site for several World Surf Championships
Nearest airport is Lisbon International Airport - some 35k from Cascais. If you are staying in Cascais a car is not required. The train station, some 7 mins walk, takes you into Lisbon (32 mins) via Estoril, in clean, modern air conditioned trains - which are not expensive & always on time!
Cascais is a very safe & popular holiday destination with many shops, restaurants and bars to suit all tastes and prices! The town has everything you would need. The nearest shop is some 5m from the house.
