About Sarah Ollerenshaw
This Villa belongs to my mother and father - I have recently taken over the rental side from my father who has been doing it for over 40 years. My mother and father were given, as a present for their wedding, a honeymoon at Torna de los Ramos. They fell in love with it and shortly after, on hearing that it was for sale, they bought it. The Villa was quite different back then, Spain was quite different back then. Over the years they have cultivated the garden, built a pool, added terraces and en suite bathrooms to create the fabulous Villa that it is today. It has been a lifelong labour of love and my parents have created a wonderfully traditional yet stylish home that is enjoyed by all their family including their 4 grandchildren.
Sarah Ollerenshaw purchased this Villa in 1960
What makes this Villa unique
I (the owners daughter) have grown up going to the Villa, it has been such a part of my life. I have always enjoyed the views of the mountains and the sea. The garden is just heavenly, full of wonderful smells, fruit trees and wildlife. There is a lot to do, one minute you could be on the beach next you can enjoy the quiet terraces at the Villa, next you can be up a mountain or in a river gorge. I love Frigiliana the nearest small village. It is quite frankly in my mind one of the most beautiful places in the world - a whitewashed village that cascades down a hillside, full of fabulous people, faces and red geraniums! There are countless places to eat local food and to sit watching the world go by on warm evenings. Then there is Nerja if you want a bit more nightlife and flamenco dancing!!

Location, views and pool
All outstanding. Very convenient for Nerja and Frigiliana. Wonderful views to coast and mountains. Superb pool.
Homely holiday house near Nerja
We booked this house with very short notice. Sarah was quick to respond to our request and it was easy to arrange our stay. As the description states it is a traditional house which has evidently been in the same family for many years. My family and I enjoyed the location which is great for trips to the beach although the nearby road is quite noisy. The garden is beautiful and the views towards Frigliana are lovely. We found the area quite touristy, Frigliana is a beautiful Pueblo Blanco but it has lost some of its authentic Spanish feel.
The house itself had all listed facilities. We did have problems working the television, which worked intermittently. The bedrooms were well furnished, and generous in size. The living space is a little cluttered with personal belongings and the sticky label instructions everywhere made us feel that we were in someones else house all the time which deterred us from fully being able to relax. There were lots of useful books on the area and helpful recommendations of local restaurants etc.
The pool was lovely. It is in the sun till about 4pm then the sun sinks behind the trees. We were grateful that the owners could accommodate us at such short notice. Thank you!
Fantastic location and well equipped villa
We have stayed in a lot of villas in this area and thoroughly loved our stay here. The little things made the difference - tea and coffee and general little things available on arrival that you can leave for the next guests. The inside appears dark at first as all the windows have shutters but you open them and the villa is lovely and light and you appreciate the coolness the shutters bring when it reaches in excess of 35 degrees as it did for us. 3 teenage children with us and they all want to go back - says it all. In summary - lovely family villa and a superb location.
Dear Elizabeth and Family,
Thank you so much for your positive feedback - it means so much to us that you have had a lovely time at our Villa and all want to come back.....you would be very welcome!
Lovely, homely villa. Great location. Sea views.
Torna de los Ramos is a fabulous villa. It is very homely. We have stayed in a few other properties in Nerja/Frigiliana and they have all been excellent but this was our favourite as it felt like a family home rather than a rental property. The decor was Spanish in style but the furnishings were more comfortable than those of usual rental properties.
The kitchen was well-stocked, the pool was perfect and the views are across a pretty valley to the sea. The grounds are beautifully planted and maintained (glad I don't have to do it!). There are also several places to sit outside.
The owner could not have been more accommodating and friendly. Thank you so much for letting us stay in your lovely villa.
This villa is fabulous, just what living in Spain is all about, having owned a house on the coast for nearly 10 years I much prefered this location. The views, garden and pool are excellent. Our Grandchilderen did not want to leave as they both said they felt as if they belonged there , I wish !!!
Nerja (2 miles away) boasts a variety of beaches from tiny quiet ones with a few services to beaches like Burriana with restaurants and watersports.
Nearest airport – Malaga 65km
International – Granada 120km
Most visitors prefer to book their flight independently but, if required, help can be given with agents who usually have flights available from a wide range of regional airports.
The villa is located 90m (300ft) above sea level, about 2 miles inland and less than 2 miles from the picturesque, award winning, white-washed, hillside village of Frigiliana.
Horseriding, cycling, tennis, boules, windsurfing, fishing and sailing are all available locally. If you are keen on walking, this is an area which begs to be explored. The whole area abounds with local tracks which lead up into the Sierra mountains. For nature lovers, the National Park, the Sierra de Tejeda is only 10 minutes drive from the villa.
Booking Notes: There are generous reductions for long-term stay visitors and smaller parties off-peak - please contact owner for more information. If your group is larger than our villa can hold, or you have friends who would like to stay nearby, then further houses, large and small, can usually be recommended. Changeover Day: We are flexible but prefer a Friday changeover. Notes on prices: Please note that the prices shown for off peak times are based on 2 people going. If the party is larger then the price will be increased proportionately i.e. a separate price for 2 or 4 or 6 or 8 people. This however does not apply during the months of July and August (peak season) and the price will be the same regardless of the number of people going. The lowest prices shown off peak during winter are the prices for a 6 week let or longer as they would merit a 20% discount.
