Lovely relaxing stay
Myself, my husband, our 3 children and my parents stayed here for 9 nights. The villa was lovely and more than adequate for the 7 of us. The girls loved playing in the pool every day, which was nice and clean and a good size. Town was only a short drive or walk. We stocked up and had a BBQ every night which my husband loved to take charge of. Luis kept in close contact with me before the holiday and was very helpful and lovely to speak with. We would definitely visit again and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Thank you Faye, so happy you had a great time. We enjoyed having your family at Ventura and hope to see you very soon!
Perfect place for our dogs holiday
We extended our stay here as the dogs were so comfortable in the villa in a lovely quiet position in the middle of orange groves and just a few minutes drive to the beach, or to the town. The beach was pretty quiet too and almost all the other dogs we met were friendly. The garden was fully enclosed and the gravel made it very easy to clear up behind the dogs. They loved the fire and it was the only way to keep the house warm,(we saw radiators on the photos and assumed it had working central heating!!) we were the best customers of the guy who sells the firewood! There were a few little niggles such as no water, but Luis responded very quickly. We would come back because we loved the area and finding somewhere that was better for the dogs would be difficult! The gate locking, shutters and alarm became a bit tiresome but better safe than sorry. We recommend the Olivera restaurant near the market, Kiko Park restaurant and the Medenero restaurant, all had great food, not cheap, but very very tasty. The equestrian centre was a great way to spend a couple of hours watching the MET. The golf course restaurant has a good value salad buffet at lunchtime. Thanks again Luis!
Thanks very much, Donna & Chris. We enjoyed having you and look forward to another visit. Dogs were very well behaved and the house and garden were left practically trace-free.
Just to be clear, I did explain heating was provided by the closed wood furnace. Firewood was provided for the original booking. Additional days were charged at extremely reduced rates and the 'wood guy' sells wheelbarrows of olive wood, good for a week, for 10 euros. We also supplied mobile gas heaters, you never asked! And yes, our plumber was there in 1 hr to solve a small problem with the water pump.
Fantastic winter stay
Myself and my wife booked this lovely villa for a 3 month stay over the winter period and what a joy it was to stay there.
From the moment we met Luis the owner until our final goodbye it truly was a marvellous experience.
Luis met us just off the motorway to lead us to the villa(lovely chap and so friendly with great English).
On arrival was shown round the property and guided through what to do with alarm system ,how things worked etc etc.
Lounge/ diner was a great space with all we needed for our stay I cannot think of anything it lacked.Double patio doors from the lounge and the master bedroom lead onto the terrace which had a great pool even though we did not use due to the weather.
3 bedrooms all a good size and the master with the ensuite bathroom and a further bathroom with bath opposite the other 2 bedrooms so privacy was maintained when we had guests.
Nothing was too much trouble for the owners they even let us have mail delivered to them in near by Gandia and then they brought it to us.
One problem we did have was the wifi stopped working phoned the owners and within 2 days had changed companies and new wifi fitted. To say they go the extra mile is an understatement.
Oliva is 15 mins walk with loads of cafes bars restaurants along country road and the sandy beach around the same distance .
I would recommend the villa to all from a couple wanting a romantic get away to a large family who want the space this villa brings.
Dear Dave & Viv,
What can we say?
We're so glad you enjoyed your stay as much as we liked having you at Ventura.
You would be most welcome anytime.
Hope all is well with you and yours and a belated Happy New Year!
A lovely relaxing base from which to explore
Luis and Hermione's villa is in a great location a couple of minutes drive from the beach (20 mins walk approx) or the town and there are many places to visit within an easy drive of Oliva. The villa itself is clean, comfortable and very private surrounded by a lovely garden. The pool was great fun and gets the sun on it all day so is never cold. The villa is very well appointed and outside there is plenty of space for sitting in the shade or sunbathing. Luis and his family were lovely hosts, very thoughtful and helpful and I would definitely recommend this property for anyone wishing to stay in this area of Spain.
Thank you for your comments, June.
We enjoyed having you and are glad you had a great time at Ventura.
Hope to see you again, soon.
Wonderful villa peaceful and quiet
Very nice villa with good sized pool and lovely garden. Ideal for a relaxing holiday. Luis is very friendly and helpful. Thank you for making our holiday special. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
Thank you so much for your kind comments. It was a pleasure meeting you and look forward to many return visits.
Luis was extremely helpful upon arrival. The villa was clean and tidy but unfortunately too hot with no air con in August. We were also plagued by mosquitoes. The villa is set in orange groves, no views so if you are after total seclusion that's fine. Too far from the local town for us. Unfortunately we had problems locking doors as the window locks were broken - no good with young kids. Pool wasn't very clean either. Oliva is very disappointing not to mention ladies along the main road - not nice with young children.
The Villa may not have central air conditioning, but there's always a sea breeze that keeps the house fairly cool all summer. The living area has a big ceiling fan and there are portable fans in each bedroom. 99 % of families have found it perfectly adequate without the bother of noise and keeping all windows/doors shut. Bedrooms have block out sun blinds, shutters and iron grates. The location is ideal, private and secluded but walking distance to beach an town. With a famous restaurant/bar 4 minutes away on foot. There are lovely views of mountains from the terraces.
All windows/doors are lockable and safe. Lounge patio door shutters are electric with remote controls. Difficult to understand such a negative rating, considering all the other reviews.
Oliva beaches are all EU certified blue flag for their cleanliness and beauty. The beaches are generally backed by dunes and unspoilt. The sand stretches as far as the eye can see and access is unrestricted. The area around Oliva remains largely unspoilt by large scale buildings. Yet, if you wish to sample the tourist attractions of the Costa Blanca, Benidorm can be reached in just over 30 minutes by car where there is the largest water park in the district and other major attractions.
Valencia airport 40 minutes on toll road. Alicante 55 minutes drive. Denia port 20 minutes drive. Oliva marina 5 minutes drive. Tennis Club and Golf course 5 minutes drive.
Beach and Oliva town both 2 minutes drive or 15 minute walk. Car recommended, private parking at the villa for 2 cars.
Nearby attractions may be found. Valencia is a must see with its renowned City of Sciences as well as the host for Formula 1 and Motor GP races & America's Cup.
The villa is situated behind the typically Spanish town of Oliva at the southern end of the Costa del Azahar and it is reached by a very short 2-3 minute drive through the orange groves. The town provides ample shopping facilities including numerous bars and restaurants. There is also a weekly market which is held on Fridays.
The town provides ample shopping facilities including numerous bars and restaurants. A brand new international caliber spa. There is also a weekly market which is held on Fridays. Valencia is an easy and very interesting day trip. Gandia and the port of Denia are nearby. Golf, tennis, marina and surf school are a short drive away.
