Home from Home, just what we asked for.
This villa was as if my house was put in the sun ever day. It has everything you need for a great holiday, don’t take my word go and see for yourself, you will not be disappointed. We will be returning.
We were very pleased to receive this review as we stay at the villa ourselves four or five times a year and endeavour to leave it for our guests to a standard we enjoy ourselves.
Perfect villa, location and a great host
This was our families first visit to Lanzarote and we were in desperate need of a rest. This we were able to do from the outset as Stephanie the owner had communicated brilliantly all the way through the booking process and the instructions regarding arrival were spot on! As for Casa Lanah it was perfect, exactly like the photographs and everything you could possibly need provided. A wonderful holiday was had including a Christmas Day walk up Montana Roja which is behind the villa (highly recommend for the stunning views). We will be booking another stay here asap.
Caroline, we are so pleased you and your family enjoyed your stay at our villa and look forward to hearing from you again.
Great 8 night stay at Casa Lanah ... our 2nd visit
This was our 2nd visit to Casa Lanah ... a well maintained and spotlessly clean villa, on the gated La Goleta complex, at the bottom of Montana Roja. The property has good quality fitments and appliances and a swimming pool that was cleaned twice during our stay. Any questions / special requests we had before our stay were quickly answered / dealt with by the owner. We hired a car for our stay, but there are a few local bars and restaurants within easy walking distance ... La Travisiana Italian restaurant a particular favourite of ours. We will certainly stay here again and have already recommended it to others.
Excellent Well Equipped Villa
We stayed in this excellent villa from 27/12/15 - 03/01/16 and had a teriffic time. The Villa is excellent and well eqipped. Great instructions from Steph re appliances. Pool was absolutely fantastic. We hired a car which was excellent to see round the island. We also walked oned day from villa to Marina Rubicon which took about 1 hr 40 mins was worth the bottle of wine at the end of it. Will def book this villa again and would highly recommend it to anyone. Thanks again Steph for sharing your Villa with us.
All that we had hoped for
We were delighted to find the Villa and Pool to be as good as the photos and writeup promised they would be. Everything was clean and in good order. The kitchen was well equipped with everything needed for a self catering holiday. The rooms were airy and spacious and the beds were comfortable.
The pool was a reasonable size, clean and warm.
The estate was peaceful and well looked after. The communal pool was also very clean, but not as warm as the private one.
We needed some help from the management company and they were very helpful and had English Staff.
We have no hesitation in recommending this villa for a peaceful family holiday.
We are pleased the villa came up to expectations. We strive to keep it to a standard we would wish to find ourselves.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Goleta. The villa was more spacious than we expected and on arrival was spotlessly clean and inviting. Our holiday coincided with the second week of Wimbledon and we were thrilled to find all the English TV channels plus Sky available for us to watch the matches.
We especially enjoyed swimming in the warm private pool but also made good use, most days, of the large communal pool nearby. More often than not we had this pool to ourselves.
We hired a car which was more convenient for shopping and sightseeing but also did not cost much more for the week than the taxi fare to and from the airport would have cost. We also made use of the local bus service and taxis to enjoy a night out in Playa Blanca without the worry of drink driving.
A quiet after dinner drink on the villa roof terrace watching the sun go down was an added bonus.
We are already planning our return next year!
It is a 15 mins walk to the coast and the attractive coastal path which takes you past bars, cafes and a sandy beach on your way to Playa Blanca town. The island has an excellent range of beaches with 3 main local beaches at Playa Flamingo, Playa Blanca and Playa Dorada. Shallow water, activities and water sports for all the family can be found here. The famous protected beaches and coves of Papagayo (considered to have the best beaches on the island) are 15 minutes drive away.
Arrecife airport is 35 mins drive away. Taxis are freely available but car hire, although not essential, is recommended to enjoy the full benefits of the island. Driving is relatively straight forward in Lanzarote. If you prefer, hire bicycles can be delivered to your door.
Local shops and restaurants are a 5 - 10 minute walk away. Playa Blanca town, with its harbour and sea front, has an excellent range of bars restaurants and several nightclubs and is a short drive by car. Taxis are plentiful (approx 5 Euros) or you can catch the reliable half hourly local bus which will take you to the shops, beaches, Port and Marina Rubicon.
Within a short drive are many villages with excellent restaurants. The fish restaurants at the picturesque fishing village of El Golfo should not be missed. It is always enjoyable to sit here in the evening and watch the sun go down over the horizon. There is much to do in the locality with the newly developed Marina Rubicon worth a visit with its stylish shops, bars and restaurants. Fuerteventura is a 20 minute ferry ride from Playa Blanca and Timanfaya National Park with its stunning volcanic landscape is only a short drive away. The North of the island, free from volcanic activity, is particularly attractive and the small town of Haria is well worth a visit. There are stunning view points to the north West of the island. The Mirador del Rio, overlooking the Straits to La Gracioso is just one of them. Visit the lively Sunday market at Teguise and after drive the short distance up to the historic castle of Santa Barbara overlooking the town. This was a place of refuge in times gone by when the Corsairs invaded.
Notes on prices: Prices are for the property per week, in UK Pounds, and are based on 2 people sharing. Please add £50 per additional person per week. Changeover Day: Changeover day flexible. The villa is available from 2 pm on your arrival day. We ask you to vacate by 10 am but late departures can sometimes be arranged.
