Quiet clean near metro stops
This property was very hard to park and find by car, but once there it is no problem getting around by metro everywhere. The metro is only a quick 5 minute walk, but a very steep walk to either station. The property was quiet, clean and Maria very responsive. It stays very very dark at night and there are stairs into the bedroom from the bathroom that can be a hazard (I fell as it was so dark) possibly a plug in night light is needed. The outside neighborhood has a ton of graffiti as does most of Lisbon, yet a 2 minute walk is a fancy wine bar restaurant. A second set of towels per person and a floor mat are needed especially if staying multiple days as we were. There is a washer dryer combo which is a big plus for traveling.
modern and sleek
Communication was wonderful! The location was perfect - near to everything we wanted to see, within a hilly walk!
Great apartment, great location!
We really enjoyed our stay in Lisbon even more than we anticipated; in no small part due to our stay in this apartment!
We really enjoyed our stay! The apartment was spacious and well outfitted with an abundance of storage. Parking was secure.
Though briefly concerned when booking that the location might be a bit off the beaten path, we found it to be in a fantastic location.
For those of you who watched “Somebody Feed Phil” on Netflix before visiting Lisbon, the apartment is less than 5 minutes fro Jesus e Goya’s and there is actually a scene in the episode that has him walking down the street that HAS to have been filmed out the window of the apartment. Thanks for a fantastic stay!
excellent apartment, helpful owner
we had a wonderful time here, besides the very central location, comfortable bed, quiet house and nice bathroom there is one big plus - though the house itself is of course on the hill - reality in Lisbon :-), the flat is on the ground floor - no further steep stairs...
note for the drivers - apt. comes with parking in underground in the house, I recommend to rent as small car as possible - parking is not an issue, but to get to Rua Passadico, this is a nightmare :-), do not understand how the small trucks that were passing by got to the street, probably falling from sky...
I would recommend to everybody, Maria very helpful, same applies for Joao, who welcomed us in the house.
Apartment looked exactly as it appeared on the website. It’s location was very central and easy to access all the sightseeing transport
Big apartment but not great experience
This was a very large apartment and roomy but we did not have a great experience here. The AC did not work the entire time we stayed here. We tried to sleep with the windows opened but it was too loud. When we contacted the property manager, it took her an entire day to respond and it was basically no one was able to come out. Very disappointing.
A walkway to the history of people and places. Here the houses witness moments of old times and receive the new energies of the XXI century. The lamps illuminate conversations and footsteps. The neighbors beckos from the windows, decorated with flower boxes. It's a revised Lisbon and today's Lisbon. It's a Lisbon neighborhood that intersects the streets and nods to the insinuating hills!
•The apartments’ central location and the proximity of many of Lisbon's interest points will allow you to visit the main old town attractions without the need to take a taxi, bus or subway. And walking is guaranteed to be the best way to discover the beauty of this city with almost 3000 years of history.
•Avenida da Liberdade (7 min walking distance) where attracts a variety of cultural programs, crafts and books fairs, concerts, outdoor theatre and art exhibitions.
•The famous Restauradores area are less than 10 mins way (by walking), and a couple more minutes takes you to Rossio and Baixa. This area is also served by the famous tramway 28 that takes you directly to Alfama and the castle while giving you an inexpensive sightseeing tour of Lisbon's hills.
•A 12 minute walk takes you to the Gloria Lift, a national monument that runs between Praça dos Restauradores and Bairro Alto.
•Bairro Alto (15 min walking distance) is one of the landmarks of the capital, usually chosen by journalists, writers, models and actors. It is a place where you can find taverns, art galleries, Lisbon’s best shops and ateliers, in an exquisite association of modern stores and old boutiques. Nowadays it is one of the most desirable places to live or open a business. You can also experience Portuguese gastronomy and have a feel of the nightlife in some of the most famous Lisbon’s bars and small clubs.
•By 20 minutes walking along the hill, you find Castelo S. Jorge (St. George's Castle), built during the 7th Century. The castle occupies a strategic position and offers unrivalled views of the city. On your way there, you will bump into some unique peoples, stories and traditions. The popular and yet melancholy music of Fado infuses the air and tells you that you are in the Alfama.
•At Chiado, Baixa, Rossio and Cais do Sodré you have access to diverse public transportation (bus, train, tram and subway) that can take you directly to any point within the greater Lisbon area (including Belém, Sintra, Cascais or the International Airport). Lisbon’s beaches are approximately 30 minutes away by train!
