The property had everything you would need for a visit and was very comfortable. The location was only 10 minutes walk from the centre of Edinburgh.
Loved this homey little spot!
The flat is in such a convenient location in the city. I’d love to come back and stay in the same place! When I got there, the flat was clean, had the necessities, and it’s a pretty comfy bed. It was such a comfort coming back to this homey spot every day after a long day walking around in a city I’ve never been to.
A very nice little apartment in beautiful district of Edinburgh. It was very comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed our stay.
Very nice and central. Has everything you need. Useful parking if you have a car.
Small but perfectly formed
Centrally located, really quiet and comfortable wee flat I would thoroughly want to stay in again.
Wonderfully sunny retro décor, comfortable bed (not too soft) and well equipped kitchen.
Supermarket, pubs, restaurants and buses virtually on the door step. Short walking distance to the delightful Stockbridge.
Thank you. That's very kind. We appreciate you taking the time to comment.
Studio was as described. Kitchen has everything you would need. Location is great in a quite area but not too far away from the city. Would suggest some black out blinds to keep early morning day light out.
The nearest beach to Edinburgh is at Portobello, east of the city centre. This is easily reached by bus or taxi. If you're heading that way, make sure you stop off at Portobello's old Victorian swimming baths for a steam or sauna in lovely tiled surroundings (Glenogle Baths is a similar heritage swimming pool 10 minutes' walk from the apartment, in Stockbridge).
The apartment is a 15-minute walk (£6 / 8-minute approx taxi ride) from Edinburgh's main Waverley train station. If you're coming by air, a taxi from the airport costs around £20. Alternatively, you can take a bus to Princes Street (£5 return) and either walk, or take a taxi (around £5) from there. Glasgow city centre is a 45 minute train ride away from Waverley Station.
Princes St/George St - main shopping /restaurant area - 5 minute walk
National Gallery of Scotland 10 minute walk
National Portrait Gallery 10 minute-walk
Traverse and Lyceum Theatres 10-minute walk
Usher Hall (classical music) 10-minute walk.
Edinburgh Castle and Royal Mile 20-25 minute walk
During the Edinburgh Festival, the apartment is within walking distance of the Edinburgh International Book Festival and the Assembly Rooms, as well as many other venues.
Within a 2-minute walk of the apartment, there is a selection of excellent cafes, a very good organic restaurant/bar (Iglu), a good Thai restuarant, a historic pub (Kays Bar) and two late-opening supermarkets (a Sainsbury's local and the independent Margiotta, which also has a free cashpoint). Down the hill a 5-minute walk, is Stockbridge village, which has a range of restaurants and services; up the hill 5 minutes are George Street and Princes St, which has the city's widest selection of bars, restaurants and shops.
