Maalaea offers a dreamy escape from the bustling tourist centers of Lahaina, Kaanapali and Kihei. You will have easy highway access, but may choose to forgo the tourist traps and spend your days peacefully luxuriating beneath a palm tree by the pool.

Guests have complete privacy, with access to the entire 2LDK condo unit. Private washer and dryer for laundry as well as dish washer. One assigned parking space. Gated pool and manicured lawn with lounges barbecues, tiki torches. Direct ocean access from the property. On-site manager to handle incidental concerns. Maalaea Kai is known to be the best kept building in the village.
4 miles of secluded sandy beach, world class surfing, fine and family restaurants, a friendly/casual local watering hole and the historic Maalaea General Store all located within a short stroll.
There are two beaches within a 10 minute walking distance of our home.
The first is less than two minutes from the front door. A small sandy strip within the Maalaea breakwall. In our YouTube video you may see a quick clip of myself waist deep fishing from that beach.
The other "Maalaea Beach" is the longest beach in Maui, about an eight minute walk from the front door it begins at Haycraft park at the end of Hauoli Street, and continues uninterrupted for 3 miles as it becomes the more famous Sugar Beach, and continues all the way to the town of Kihei.
There are multiple surf breaks viewable directly in front of the building. When the surf is high you may see many locals and occasionally pro surfers in the water there. "Freight Trains" is the surf break directly in front of the building and it is known as the worlds fastest surfable wave. (Not for beginners when its big.)
If you have access to Google earth type in Maalaea Harbor to get an aerial view. Our building is the first to the left of the break wall (away from the harbor) if you are looking toward the ocean from land.

Historic Maalaea Village retains the charm of old Hawaii while offering every modern convenience.
Harbour shops, aquarium, and the Maalaea general store are a five minute walk away.
The harbor boasts a plethora of ocean activities including whale watching, snorkeling, diving, fishing, sailing, dinner cruises..
4 minute walk to The Club Maui (cardio, free weights, sauna, steam room, spin bikes, group fitness, CrossFit) * Please inquire at The Club Maui front desk for daily visitor rates.
5 minute walk to Maui Ocean Center Aquarium and mini golf. Restaurants bars shopping, Maalaea General Store..
15 minute drive to Lahaina, Kihei, Wailuku and Kahului Airport.
20 minute drive to Wailea, Kaanapali, Napili and to the upcountry.
A rental car is highly recommended, however you may find yourself content to lounge about the condo and tranquil seaside lawn.. Take it easy and enjoy paradise. No need to rush, while you are on Maui Time.
★ Whale Watching on Maui
Whale Season is typically November to May with January to March being the peak months.
★ House Rules
* As customary in Hawaii, always remove shoes before entering.
* No Smoking, Parties, or Illegal drugs will be tolerated.
* Please do not touch the whale sculpture nor allow children to horseplay in the living room. Owners will not be held responsible for any negative outcomes due to careless behavior on the part of guests.
* Please do not leave anything on the lawn, pool area.. Towels, cups, dishes..
* Whale Watch is a short-term rental home, with no room service provided. Guests are responsible for their own laundry, dishes and daily clean up.
Maui is an agricultural island with iron rich red lava soil. Steady trade-winds deposit a layer of fine dust island wide.
The condo has been cleaned prior to your arrival. If during the course of your stay the floor and surfaces become dusty, (this can happen quickly) there are cleaning supplies are on hand for your convenience. Residents, long stay guests typically do a quick 10min Swiffer mopping 3 or more times per week to keep things fresh.
Please be mindful to rinse sandy feet before entering, as it tends to hide between floor tiles and scatter later. Locals keep a gallon of water in the car and rinse sandy feet before the ride home.
Please utilize the poolside shower or one of the garden spigots to rinse sand from feet, coolers, surfboards, snorkel gear etc.

* The television is equipped with a Chromecast unit, so you may stream video from your laptop, smartphone or tablet.
* There are two wall cabinets containing a library of DVD's which are cataloged numerically. Please feel free to enjoy at your leisure. Kindly return each title to its correct place. Some titles may not be suitable for children.
* Please be courteous and respect the privacy of building residents.
* Please keep noise to a minimum, especially after dark.
