Our apartment is very much our home in the Alps. We use it as much as possible and the feedback we receive from our guests is that the apartment feels like a home away from home. We visit Chamonix throughout the year for both sports and relaxation, and never fail to be struck by the incredible beauty of the town and its setting.
Joanne purchased this Apartment in 2006
Why Joanne chose Chamonix
Chamonix is one of the historic mountain towns of the Alps. Often described as the world's capital of mountain sports, it is visited throughout the year and is easily accessed being just over an hour from Geneva. Chamonix is arguably in the 'heart' of the Alps, situated below Mont Blanc with its huge glaciers, and very close to the borders of Italy and Switzerland. There is something for everyone in Chamonix, both on and off the mountains.
What makes this Apartment unique
We were very fortunately to own an apartment in the Residence Les Aiguilles Du Brevent. It is a highly sought after location adjacent to the Brevent Telecabine and a very short walk into the centre of Chamonix. It is located on the sunny side of the valley in quiet grounds. The building is unique in having a permanent resident guardian which ensures the building is maintained to a high standard. The build and design is Italian dating from 1975 and all rooms are spacious and bright. The apartment also benefits from all rooms having access to the garden through patio doors. We refurbished the apartment and maintain it in a lovely bright modern style.

Lovely ground level apartment in great location
Very nice 2br/2ba ground level apartment within walking distance to downtown Chamonix, near the Brevent lift. Views of Le Drus/Aguille Vert from the spacious garden. Apartment is well furnished with a very well stocked kitchen. Owners are pleasant and very accommodating. Highly recommended!
We had an absolutely fantastic stay in this lovely apartment! The location couldn't possibly be any better, and everything was just perfect for our trip.
We stayed here with our 7-month-old son, so we didn't actually get a chance to enjoy any of the many movies or the sound-system that are available, but I imagine this is great for other guests.
We ate in every evening, and the kitchen, although small, was very well-equipped and had everything needed to cook dinner.
The beds were very comfortable, and all of us slept very well.
All-in-all the apartment is great, the owners are very prompt in answering any questions, and I would whole-heartedly recommend this place to friends and family. I hope we will be able to come back again soon!
We are just back from a lovely weeks stay in this wonderful flat. The apartment is tastefully decorated to a high standard and the accommodation itself wants for nothing. It's bright, modern, well located and spotlessly clean. The views of the mountains from the living room are glorious.
Facilities wise, the apartment is on the ground floor which thankfully is the same floor as the ski locker. The building itself is impeccably maintained and quiet.
The apartment has an in-built Sonos system is immensely good and a plentiful supply of books, dvds, magazines etc should you need them.
There were adequate cooking facilities provided, and at the time of our stay some basics were supplied (salt/ pepper, sugar, some coffee/tea).
The owners comms were clear, courteous and timeous and very helpful.
Overall I have absolutely no qualms about recommending Chalet/ Apartment Linder to all looking for a top class place to enjoy self-catering in Chamonix.
Location wise, the apartment is right next to the Brevent lifts and a ski bus stop (7 mins to centre). NB These ski buses don't seem to run past 1730.
I think it only fair to point out to prospective tenants that you should be aware that If you are elderly or are less mobile that although this fantastic flat is only a very short distance from the town centre, you are actually located at the top of a bit of a very steep hill (difficult in icy snowy conditions). It is normally walkable of course but one would not like to do so carrying skis and poles and boots etc.
Access to lifts is an important factor when choosing a place to stay on a ski lift.
Brevent UP, (first choice) if open. This leads to Flegere area if open.
It is possible to ski on a black run back to Brevent (if open) if not, it’s the bubble back down.
You can Ski Grand Montet and get off the bus before Chamonix Centre walk to the Club Med where a poma takes you allowing you to ski back to the Brevent lift station.
Else all areas require a return bus from Chamonix sud or centre.
Overall in many years of ski holidays this has been the best accommodation we have ever found and we will definitely come back. I think next time more for a biking or walking holiday as we are now looking for a much more ski-in and ski-out kind of holiday.
Accommodation and facilities: 11/10
Ski Resort: (based on the requirements of 2 post 50 year old lazy skiers) 5/10.
Excellent in all respects
Well maintained and more the feel of a home than just a rental apartment with all fittings and furnishings being of a superior nature with a feeling of spaciousness throughout which meant we really couldn't fault anything. The ground floor location meant we had a patio to sit outside when the weather permitted. Conveniently situated close to the main town and very close to the Brevent ski lift, although the walk back of the hill may not be suited to everyone. I would recommend this apartment to anyone, ideally suited to a party of four. Garage parking is also a positive but a bit of a tight squeeze as is the case with 99% of underground car parks.
Great apartment - felt at home from the moment we arrived
We used the apartment for a skiing holiday and the location was perfect for the Brevent / Flegere ski area. The whole valley was easily accessible with either a short downhill walk into town or by bus which stops outside. The apartment was well equipped, comfortable and spacious for 4.
Lovely well-equipped apartment in a great location
The owner was helpful and quick to reply, and arrangements for arrival and departure worked well. Clean and nicely furnished apartment with good kitchen, bathroom, tv and audio facilities. A great selection of DVDs (didn't need them as weather stunning) and useful guidebooks. Car parking space in garage is invaluable although requires some skillful driving; great to park car and forget about it for most of our stay. Location next to Brevent gondola is wonderful with potential for great walks. Owner's recommendations for restaurants were very useful and we thoroughly enjoyed all our meals out. Watching the paragliders descend over the apartment in the mornings was quite something. Happy to recommend this apartment.
The coast at Genoa is 2 hours drive away. Lac Leman is 45 minutes away.
1 hour from Geneva airport, 7-8 hours from Calais. A car is useful for transfer and excursions, otherwise not necessary. Garage provided.
Adjacent to Brevent gondola with its great walks, climbing, skiing, mountain biking, mountain restaurants and stunning views of Mont Blanc. 300 metres to Chamonix centre with restaurants (including 3 michelin starred), bars, museums, and access to the Mont Blanc railway and cable car. Mountain and forest trails start at the end of the drive. Easy access to Switzerland and italy and towns including Montreux, Annecy, Geneva.
Chamonix is a working town of 12,000 population with all of the facilities you would expect including many banks, 6 supermarkets, a petrol station and a terrific Saturday farmers market. Attractions include the Mer de Glace glaciers, Europe's highest cable car, Mont Blanc, ice caves, alpine fauna and flora as well as great cuisine.
