This delightful villa is located in the heart of Puglia’s country-side. With no neighbouring villas and totally surrounded by olive groves and farm land, Villa Capperi offers total seclusion and serenity. Accessed by a pine fringed drive and surrounded by dry stone walls. The villa is set in over three acres of land with olive trees and many varieties of fruit trees. Whilst the villa is tucked away in the Puglian countryside in an extremely tranquil location, getting there is simple as it is easily accessed via a quiet little country lane. Located just over 3km’s from Puglia’s finest beach and nature reserve at Torre Guaceto, the villa is perfectly situated for lovers of sun and sand. The fine old town of Carovigno with its many bars and restaurants, castle and old town is just 5km away. During 2012/13 the owners carried out an upgrade programme to the Villa and its grounds (including new Air Conditioning, new Kitchen equipment, free Wi-Fi etc). The owners also completely modernised both bathrooms for the 2015 season. For the 2017 season the owners updated the kitchen and added further cupboard space, worktops and a full size dishwasher.

Perfect place for a perfect Italian holiday
Our first visit to Italy, the villa is beautifully appointed, a dazzling white building with a lovely shaded veranda all the way round. Blue skies, blue pool, a verdant garden filled with figs, pears, pomegranates, almonds, citrus trees. I absolutely loved it. Our bedroom was well furnished and decorated as was the rest of the villa. We particularly liked the second bathroom to use after swimming so that we didn’t have to tramp wet through the house. There were interesting places to visit nearby. The local family supermarket in San Vito is well stocked with easy free parking outside. It was fascinating to see the different produce available, made a real change from out village co-op here in Devon. We also visited Carovigno for a marvellous antipasti at La Cantina, the white city of Ostuni, the Roman remains at Lecce, the sea front at Villanova, a grove of ancient olive trees at Serranova (which looked as though they could walk and talk they had so much character). We sat in outdoor cafes watching the world go by, ate Italian ice cream, looked with envy at some Italian allotments, visited proper Italian parks and saw beautiful butterflies. We had the most lovely and interesting holiday. The villa was just right, light, bright, well equipped. Very much hope to visit again.
Thank you for your lovely review. We very much hope to welcome you to Villa Capperi in the near future!
Great villa with everything you need to make your holiday special. The pool is excellent.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, Both the villa and the pool were excellently maintained. We definitely made good use of the pool and the outside areas. Antonio was very welcoming and helpful. An excellent holiday with wonderful weather in a beautiful villa. What more could you ask for!!!
Many thanks for your great review of our villa. We hope to see you all again in the future!
A lovely secluded villa very well equipped and not to far from local shops. A car is essential to explore the local area.
Many thanks for your kind words. We hope to see you all again in the future.
Beautifully kept Villa in a quiet location,we also enjoyed the local towns & beeches!
Villa is immaculate & perfectly located, quiet in the day & close to local towns with a great selection of restaurants to choose from!
Thanks for your review. Its always fantastic to hear that our returning guests have had another great time at the villa. Hope to see you all again next year!
We returned to Villa Capperi this year since we had a lovely holiday here a couple of years ago. It's spacious inside and well-equipped and the kitchen has been recently updated (since we were last here). Lots of outside space for relaxing in the shade or by the pool too. Amazing views from the roof of the sunset and the sky at night. Having a car is necessary though as the two nearest towns are not within walking distance, and I would recommend travelling to some of Puglia's other cities such as Ostuni and Lecce for a day or evening trip for a wander.
Many thanks for your kind review. We hope to see you all again at the villa in the not too distant future!
A relaxing stay in a great villa
We have just returned from Villa Capperi having had a super time. We stayed here a few years ago and can see that the owners continue to add to the villa’s appeal (new dishwasher, microwave, kitchen equipment etc). The pool is a big attraction here as it is very private and good for swimming lengths or just relaxing on a lilo. We liked the very colourful plants that surround the Villa. The Oleanders are in full bloom at the moment. The villa is very easy to drive to/from but you will need a car. Would come back again in a heart beat.
Many thanks for your kind review Joseph. We look forward to welcoming you both back to the villa soon! Best regards Chris and Marion
We are 3 kms from the beach at the little seaside town of Lido Specchiolla and approximately 5 mins (4 kms) from Puglia's finest beach located in the nature reserve in Torre Gauceto.
To the west the Med (Ionian sea) and the seaside towns located along the Taranto to Gallipoli coastline is only 30-40 mins drive.
As we do not tend to have any "package" holidays in Puglia, beaches near the villa mainly attract Italian families in the summer.
We are an easy 20 minute drive from Brindisi airport (BA, Ryanair, Alitalia & Easyjet from April 2015) and a straightforward 75 mins from Bari airport (BA, EasyJet and Ryanair, etc). Car hire is essential due to the Villa's secluded location. In addition, there are frequent inexpensive flights from all over Europe that go to Naples. The journey from Naples (multiple airlines) to Puglia is mainly motorway and is a comfortable 3.5 hours. Flights to Puglia fill up quickly so early booking is advisable.
The Villa is 3km from the nearest beach and less than 4km from the nature reserve and extensive golden sands at Torre Gauceto. The historic old town of Ostuni is 15 mins drive away. We are 5km from both the town of Carovigno with its attractive old town and the lively resort and beach of Santa Sabina. Lecce with its famous Baroque architecture is a short drive away as are most of the region's other towns and places of interest (Alberobello, Monopoli, Brindisi, Locorotondo, Martina Franca, etc)
Whilst the villa is tucked away in the Puglian countryside in an extremely tranquil location, getting there is simple as it is easily accessed via a quiet little country lane.
The villa is located 4km’s from Puglia’s finest beach and nature reserve at Torre Guaceto and is perfectly situated for lovers of sun and sand. The fine old town of Carovigno with its many bars and restaurants, castle and old town is just 5km away as is San Vito Dei Normanni.
We are 4km from the large supermarket on the outskirts of San Vito. Carovigno has beautiful churches, a castle and a nearby underground grotto at Belvedere. Carovigno is well known throughout Puglia for its cuisine and each restaurant is proud of its specialities featuring local produce such as olives, tomatoes, cheese and seafood and fish. You won't need to look further than house wines which are superb value. Both San Vito and Carovigno are full of little shops (deli's, greengrocers, bakers, fishmongers, butchers, small bars etc) as well as a choice of supermarkets.
There have recently been several new excellent restaurants opened in Carovigno. Check out the fantastic reviews on TripAdvisor. The lively coastal resort of Santa Sabina with its superb restaurants and pizzerias is just 10 minutes drive away and a favourite destination for Villa Capperi's guests. Even nearer is the seaside town of Specchiolla (just a few minutes drive away) which now hosts some good restaurants along the sea front.
