About Jessie Ream
There is so much to do in the Thermopolis area we think everyone should want to live here! If you can't live here, then why not stay in a great house while you enjoy your visit? The reasons we love it here are plentiful. The best part for us is definitely the hot springs pools, we go at least 3 times a week. The boys fish the river across the highway from us and we take many day trips throughout the year to the numerous area attractions.
Jessie Ream purchased this House in 2015
Why Jessie Ream chose Lucerne
Our neighbors to the south of us have a vacation rental. We thought that was such a fun idea! When this house came up for sale, we jumped on it. We feel it is the perfect place for a vacation rental and it is just steps from our home.
What makes this House unique
The most unique thing about this property is the hot sprigs flowing through it. We use the water for our animals and it also heats our own house across the street!

Roomy, comfortable, rural
We are four sisters who met in Thermopolis for a reunion. Two of us stayed in town at a small VRBO and two of us stayed here at The Roost. It had a roomy living room, kitchen, and round dining table so it made a great place for the four of us to get together and share meals and conversation. It was clean, beds were comfortable, kitchen was adequate, and the laundry facilities were appreciated. The rural setting appealed to us, but I was surprised that other houses were nearby. Space for walking our dogs was limited to a few short gravel roads so we drove the five minutes to Hot Springs park twice a day to walk our dogs or take for longer hikes, which Jack, the owner's son, recommended.
The neighborhood is a typical Western, rural area for many smaller towns - houses vary from neat and tidy to properties that are not well-tended.
The owners have chickens and goats in the pasture adjoining the yard and we enjoyed meeting them when they came over to do chores. There is not a fenced in yard but we were able to put our dogs out on a leash so they could enjoy the outside and watching the animals.
When I had one question about the limited Roku channels, the owner responded promptly by text.
This was a comfortable place to stay while enjoying the area and only a five minute drive to our daily soaks in the various Hot Springs facilities.
A very nice home away
We will stay there again
Nice Private area with plenty of solitude
This property is easy to get to. the vacation rental is nicely laid out in an efficient floor plan and sets in a very quiet area. The solitude one can have is amazing. the home has a unique décor with various enjoyable references found throughout the house peacefully displaying references to the roost. Our Family enjoyed the visit immensely.
Perfect Vacation Stay!
So much to love about "The Roost" vacation home! So, like the other reviewers I have to comment on the goats. Such a pleasure to see these little guys out in back of the property. My cat even enjoyed their company! The roosters (the real ones) are adorable! The home had everything I needed to feel comfortable and was spotless. Off the main drag but still close enough to town for convenience. A great vacation rental, very reasonable priced. Will definitely come back here!
Moving to area. Description noted as could have pets. Booked place for Aug. Met and visited with owners Fri. afternoon when moving in around 2:00 pm. Talked about getting our pets next morning. Received call around 8:45pm stating due to their insurance we couldn't have our pets there. Was agreed we would pay for Fri night stay, and they would cancel remainder of reserved booked dates. Out of house by 9:00 am Sat morning. Charged us for 2 nights stay. Have refused to reimburse us for extra nights stay charged. It's now Oct. They've had plenty of time to reimburse us the extra money they charged. We left place cleaner than when we arrived. Except for bed linens, no laundry on their part to wash. Cleaning deposit was refunded. Not sure why charged 2 nights stay or why they refuse to reimburse erroneous charge for 2nd night.
We do allow pets, but as most travelers are great about communicating what type of animal they have, especially if they are traveling with many animals at once. We are uneasy about larger, historicaly aggressive dogs because of our chickens and our own children that take care of the chickens. We did offer for these guests to pay an additional deposit (that would be refunded if there were no issues), but they decided to leave. I was not able to go back in time when I did the refund, so it appears that they were charged for two nights, but the amount was only for one. Sorry it didn't work out, but I do not regret missing out on 5 animals staying in our house!
Very clean, pleasant home in safe nei
This is a super-clean, modern, two bedroom house in a small, rural neighborhood. Very safe. Many unexpected little comforts added by the owner to make it a delightful stay. Goats and chickens in the adjoining property provide free entertainment. We loved watching them run around the field playing. As the name implies, there are roosters. Their crowing in the morning gave the place an authentic, rural feel despite being just minutes from Thermopolis. If you love animals and the outdoors, his is the place for you! Will stay there again on our next visit.
