Perfect for our weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

I live outside of Seattle and wanted to find a place in the city that wasn't located in the hustle and bustle of downtown but close enough to get there. This place fit the bill. There was ample street parking for our car but we used Uber to get around. The house was comfortable for the 3 of us and the small deck was great for morning coffee. There is a tasty breakfast place as well as pizza place just a short walk from the home. We also took a nice walk down to Lake Washington which was not far at all. The neighborhood is cute and quiet. Columbia City was a short ride away and there are so many great places to eat there. All around it was a nice and hassle free weekend getaway.

Perfect for my stay in Seattle. Close to a bus route, and rideshare was cheap as well.

Cute and convenient.

As pictured. Newly renovated. Very convenient to all of our activities and not far from Seattle Center. Is behind a house but did not pose any problems at all. Shoeless house.

Inconvenienced and inauthentically apologetic management(cozy space though!)

  • 3 of 5

I stayed here for two weeks. The interior space itself is great, however; my main unsatisfactory experience lay with the management (read below). The space is just as pictured and described. The bed is extremely comfortable (minus the pillows: bring your own if you have neck issues or don't appreciate lumpy pillows). What is also not clear in this listing is that this building is located directly behind another house so that you have to use their driveway to get to this front door (which isn't necessarily an issue), but given the fact you're walking directly past their car, bedroom windows and household of toddlers (and parents who like to leave the blinds up), you're likely to get an eye-full each time you walk to and from the "treehouse" and hear everything when they're outside with the kids.

Onto management: During the first couple days of my stay, I noticed the bathtub drain was clogged and filling up to my ankles with water during a quick shower. Completely understandable given the place's VRBO status. What I didn't appreciate was the lack of urgency in the management's response: ( Me: Hi, Drain is clogged. Management: Okay, I may be able to stop by with draino today, if not there's someone coming to install the hottub on Tuesday who can look at it (5 days from my initial drain text). They had just gotten a hottub delivered and didn't want to wait until I checked out to have the installation done. Instead of asking me when would be convenient, they TOLD me the electrician would be showing up first thing in the morning and would need to access the bedroom so I'd need to be up and allow him in. They also promised a manager would be there to let him in, which didn't happen, as she showed up 20 minutes late. Additionally, there was loud drilling which I was not given a head's up about so I had to reschedule my conference calls for later in the day until I found somewhere quieter. Upon returning back to the space after the hottub installation, there was dirt all over the floor and a stain on the bedding. I took pictures and notified management immediately, and their response was that they were sorry and wanted to buy me dinner for the inconvenience. When I told them I cooked most of my food and a gift certificate for the nearby grocery store would be best, they responded that they'd "Get me next time".

Again, I have to say that the space itself was perfect for my needs, but in terms of customer service I'd give two major thumbs down.
