About Don and Lynn McKenzie
Hello, we are Don and Lynn McKenzie and we moved to the Lake of the Ozarks 6 years ago in anticipation of retiring here full time. We had our house built in 2009 and we have been the only owners. We wanted a large home for our combined family and friends and we surpassed our expectations with a home of over 5000sq ft and 7 bedrooms and 6.5 baths. Now we find that we want to share our home with others as well. We have been renting it out through VRBO the last two years and have been very happy with our renters and love sharing our home. We did live in the area up until a year ago, but moved to Sedalia to be closer to our families. My husband Don is retired and I work from home.

Why Don and Lynn McKenzie chose Adair
My husband and I have always loved the Lake of the Ozarks. Our families came here often and our kids loved the water, fishing, and swimming. It's a place like no other. Time truly is different here: slower paced and not as worrisome as the outside world. We were lucky in that we found a great lot in a great location and built a house big enough for extended families. The three living levels are unique in that everything you need is on any level you are on. We have a big lower deck steps from the dock with your own private pool and hot tub overlooking the lake. What a view, day or night! We are on the quiet side of the lake, the "Kansas City" side; but still lots of activities and attractions. The Osage Outlet and Bagnell Dam are about 20 minutes away.
What makes this House unique
Our house is right on the water with a view that we never get tired of. No matter the season, it's always a delight to look at the lake,we'll never get tired of that. We are on the main channel with a spectacular expansive panorama. I love watching all the big performance boats go by, it's unbelievable to realize how much money goes into that sport. My husband and I love going up and down the lake in our boat just people watching and going to lake front restaurants nearby. We have a two well dock so that you can bring your own boat or rent one nearby. It's a great location to ride wave runners and fish. Our dock has a swim ladder and plenty deep to swim.

Great place to stay with fantastic views of the water from all levels! Everything was clean and in working order. The pool was great and perfect for hot days. The owners were prompt in answering any questions we had and were wonderful to work with. Would recommend to anyone!

Huge house. Clean and nice. Has everything you need. Nice view with a privacy. Owners are very friendly .
It’s very nice place to stay with a big group of people.
Much roomier than picture shows - house is huge
Great spot on the lake. Out of the way but close to everything. House is well appointed with plenty of bedrooms AND bathrooms. The owners take pride in their house and are very helpful and hospitable. We slept 17 people without issue or fighting.
Beautiful spacious property on the lake! Great place for large groups! Every amenity included.
We loved staying at this property!! Our group of 10 spent a long weekend enjoying some quality family time. Many benefits of staying at this the place! It is spacious--roomy enough for privacy but places to hang out together too. The property could easily accommodate a large group. The pool was smaller but perfect for our kiddos to swim and enjoy while the adults soaked in the hot tub. The large house and huge decks provide stunning views of the lake, especially at night. The home is stocked with every amenity...from pool toys and towels to lawn chairs on each of the decks. The kitchens have every possible tool and supply, including even spices and foil. There is plenty of prep space. When we needed extra paper towels, they were supplied right away.
Each level of the house is like an entirely separate home. The top level has 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths, kitchen, living, dining, laundry and deck. The middle level has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchen, living, dining, laundry and deck. One of the bedrooms on this level is huge with two bunk beds and several twin beds too and is a great set-up for kids. The bottom level has 1 large bedroom with 3 beds (especially good for teens), bathroom, smaller kitchen/bar area, living/dining space and deck. The pool/hot tub and dock at the lowest level have gates for safety.
While you could fish or swim from the dock, we didn't try that since wake from boat traffic was substantial and our kids preferred to go to the beach instead. There are things to do nearby like paddle boarding, kayaking, mini-golf, etc. Most activities are a 15-30 minute drive away and so is grocery shopping. We decided we would need a few weeks of being in the area to discover everything there is to see--this was our first time to Lake of the Ozarks.
The only things we would change in the house: We would have appreciated a larger dining table on the top level and some black out or heavier curtains on the bedrooms facing the lake. These were not huge issues but would have made our stay perfect in every way.
The owners were extremely helpful and accommodating with responses to our questions within minutes. We could not have asked for a better experience! Highly recommend this property!
Hi Pat, thank you so much for your kind words regarding our home. We do everything we can to make our home a comfortable and inviting place for people to stay while they are on vacation. We love hearing feedback and suggestions. At one time we did have darker curtains in the bedroom and I felt like it made the house too dark Since it faces the north. But I can certainly see where you're coming from with it being too light in the bedrooms in the morning, all the windows facing the lake have double curtain rods hanging anyway I'll just put another set up. Good idea.
We have another dining room table that has six chairs wewere thinking about replacing that one on the first floor anyway.
Once again thank you for staying with us and we're so glad you enjoyed your stay at the lake of the Ozarks, it's quite unique to visit here .

Wonderful home, view, and amenities!
My children and grandchildren stayed in this home over Thanksgiving and we absolutely loved our time here! Don & Lynn have more than supplied this home with everything you'll need for a wonderful vacation. The home was clean, brightly decorated, with a well-stocked kitchen, i.e. pots/pans/dishes. The beds were comfortable and all linens provided. Plenty of space to hang out and have meals. The hot tub was a welcome retreat. The views are amazing! I absolutely recommend this home for your family/friend gathering.
