We will be back next year! Absolutely perfect accommodations and the fall color was out of this world! Thank you for a wonderful family vacation
Fantastic Mountain Getaway!
My family and I enjoyed a wonderful stay at Bear Creek Lodge which, even under the trying circumstances of evacuating our home in South Florida due to Hurricane Irma, was an amazing getaway! The home was immaculately kept, and the amenities and location of Bear Lake are among the best we've enjoyed in the Sapphire/Cashiers area. We have visited this area before, and have fallen in love with the magic of the NC mountains. Our stay at Bear Creek Lodge was the best we have had, as we enjoyed the Lake Club, some boating, exploring the trails and waterfalls of the area, and just a generally relaxing few days away from it all. The owner was extremely responsive, left impeccable instructions and details on the property and amenities of the club and surrounding area, and our stay could not have been better. I highly recommend staying within the Bear Lake community, and in particular with William Clark at either Bear Creek Lodge or one of the other properties he owns and lovingly cares for. We plan to be back as often as we can as the NC mountains are the ideal spot for us as a family when we want a little getaway from our Florida home. I guess that makes us "half-backers" since we grew up in southern New Jersey, have lived in Florida for 13 years, and now find ourselves drawn halfway back for our favorite vacations! Thank you for a great little, unexpected vacation!
Great home, great property
We had a great stay! Lovely home accomodated 2 couples & 2 kids perfectly!
Just what we needed!
Perfect home for a mountain get away. Everything we needed was in the house and the beds were comfortable. We spent our days at the the lake club swimming, kayaking, boating, jumping off of rocks, and swinging on rope swings into the lake. The evenings were spent playing games and enjoying each others company. We will definitely come back next summer and stay at Bear Creek Lodge.
Great location and really easy rental experience. Couldn't ask for more.
First but not last Bear Creek Reserve Experience
Bear Creek Reserve was an excellent choice for our (extended) family of 6 vacation - grandparents, children and two grandchildren (4 & 6). BCR offered plenty of things to easily fill 4 days (the length of stay for the children): pool with water slide, lake with small beach, pontoon boating, hiking and the best fishing for kids ever! The 4th of July activities at the Greeters Cottage and on-site fireworks were big bonuses. Our "pretend home" as the grans called it, Bear Creek Lodge, was absolutely perfect: clean, functional, well-maintained and -equipped. Its driving distance to the Lake Club was less than a ten-minute drive which was a good location since the majority of our activities were there. The night we had Smores on the screened porch featured in the Bear Creek Lodge ad, a small black bear sauntered by, disappearing quickly into the dense vegetation. How nice of the bear to so perfectly round out our mountain experience!!
