About Elaine or Martin
Hi and welcome from Elaine and Martin. We are two ex-business people who like to travel and have been to many countries round the world. We've enjoyed and continue to enjoy meeting people and the good things in life and Villa Maria is one of them. We came to Puglia to see the 'trulli' and if Rick Stein was telling the truth about the food and wine and he certainly was! We want our guests to enjoy Villa Maria and Puglia as much as we do and to make your holiday a special one that you will never forget. You certainly won't be disappointed. We don't mind going out of our way to help make people happy, because that's the kind of people we are. We even provide a taxi service for guests should they wish and any local information where possible. We are nearby should guests need any help or advice.
Elaine or Martin purchased this Villa in 2007
Why Elaine or Martin chose Ostuni
The magical scenery of the sun kissed world of the trulli lived up to and surpassed expectations. The people and the food likewise. We were looking for a new venture and life and finding Villa Maria made the decision for us. The area is beautiful rural Puglia with ancient towns full of history and a delight to explore and the way of life is very relaxed. The trullo is a piece of traditional Puglia surrounded by shimmering ancient olive groves which are hypnotic to watch from our own private grandstand on the veranda. We are surrounded by genuine local people still farming the ancient olives and almonds as they have for hundreds of years. It is one of the most beautiful villas we have ever seen and we are very proud owners.
What makes this Villa unique
Whilst Villa Maria is very private and peaceful it is still only minutes away from two towns and all local amenities. Local markets selling fresh produce take place almost every day of the week. Two airports (Brindisi and Bari) are close by and two seas to pick from (Adriatic and Ionian) within 20 minutes drive. Restaurants abound specialising in local fayre and at a price to suit every pocket. Most do take away service too. Villa Maria is a traditional trullo and extremely well equipped luxury villa with a lovely homely feel. After a lazy sunny day cooling off in the large pool and topping up that tan, what better than to spend your evening on a candlelit patio enjoying the best of fresh local produce and local wines while the sun goes down. Your own little piece of heaven!

A great Puglian escape
This villa is very spacious with generous parking and indoor/outdoor facilities. Great location because it's provides privacy for you to totally relax and is only a short 10-15 minutes drive to Ostuni or Ceglie (for dinner etc). Elaine & Martin were very warm hosts with lots of useful local information. Wifi was good, the pool was big enough for our party of 7, a well equipped kitchen and ample dining areas (both indoor and outdoor). We had a lovely 2 week stay here and would definitely recommend it. Worth noting that a car is essential for this region of Puglia.
Fantastic villa and pool
Elaine and Martin were great hosts. The villa , pool and garden were all we hoped. The kitchen was exceptionally well equipped!
A lovely slice of Puglian paradise.
Our experience echoed the high ratings of all previous guests. Elaine and Martin are warm, generous and discrete hosts. Summer (30 degree plus) arrived with us and the pool was a welcome relief. The quiet, rural setting is lovely, yet it is within easy driving distance of all the wonderful sights Puglia has to offer. Grazie!
Beautiful and well appointed Puglian villa
Fantastic location to explore beautiful Puglia. The villa is spacious and very well appointed. The pool is perfect as are the grounds. We loved how quiet the area was, with loads of great food spots just a short drive away. The hosts really top the villa off - super knowledgeable and extremely warm and welcoming. We would definitely return
Spacious villa with pool and extensive grounds
We had a wonderful stay at Villa Maria! Martin and Elaine were great hosts. The directions they gave us were spot on and they personally met us and showed us around. The villa was very nice indeed with plenty of room for six adults. It was in a rural area but Ostuni was only a short drive away. We enjoyed using the pool at the villa, initially a bit chilly but lovely once you were in! We had a couple of barbecues and enjoyed eating outside on the terrace. There were numerous DVDs and books we could use but we were too busy exploring Puglia and finding new places to eat!
Our holiday was wonderful and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Villa Maria and Elaine and Martin as excellent hosts!
Thank you. We are really pleased you enjoyed your first visit to Puglia. So much to explore here. So many wonderful restaurants to discover with local produce and wines. The joy of slow eating! We do try and provide as much information as we can so that people don't miss out on the delights this area has to offer. Always something new to discover and we haven't seen it all ourselves yet even after all these years. We hope you come back.
