The farmhouse is set in 7 acres of meadows and woodland and is the perfect choice for those seeking peace and tranquility. The 10m by 5m swimming pool is for the exclusive use of guests and is completely private. It is situated in the south facing back garden, well placed to enjoy sun all day whilst relaxing in the peaceful surroundings with plenty of outside eating areas, in sun or in shade. There is a large lawn area and neighbouring meadow and woods to explore. At the front of the farmhouse there are ample shady spots to park several cars. This is an ideal location for those who enjoy nature in unspoilt surroundings. You can play football in the garden, read in the shade or sit under the parasols with a drink overlooking the pool. There is a rich variety of flora and fauna - many different birds, toads, salamanders, lizards, wild deer and rabbits. The Sweet Chestnut tree has a resident Green Woodpecker, and the Blue tits nest in the dry stone wall by the outdoor dining table.

About Carolyn Legg
We live in the UK and have 2 grown up children. We feel we provide a quality service and we pride ourselves on our rate of re-visiting holidaymakers. We use the property as our own holiday home, therefore it is well-appointed and comfortable; we think, a cut above the rest.
Carolyn Legg purchased this Farmhouse in 2005
Why Carolyn Legg chose Saint-Pierre-de-Frugie
We bought in the Perigord Vert because it is a beautiful part of France and not ruined by tourism. English is not as widely spoken in the area which makes it more 'authentically French'. It has such easy access - only 40 minutes of non-motorway driving from Calais. It is in the heart of the countryside, secluded but not isolated. Supermarkets are within 5kms either direction.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
When we rent a property for a holiday we are always concerned that the photos have been taken in such a way as to avoid the pylon, the pig farm, the house overlooking the garden etc. You can be assured with this property that we have no direct neighbours, no surprises, and no owners on site watching what you are up to. What you see is what you get.

All expectations exceeded - a lovely property
We have just returned from a wonderful 2 week family (6 adults and a baby) holiday in this farmhouse. The property was very spacious, well furnished and extremely comfortable. The facilities are excellent - lovely pool, Wi-Fi, UK TV, dishwasher, etc. We found it best to alternate our days between exploring the area and lazing around the pool, which really worked well for us.
The couple who manage the house for the owner are very friendly and informative. They were there to welcome us on our arrival and change the bedding and towels half way through our fortnight.
We like to visit a different part of France each holiday and will probably have a hard time finding a property for next year that measures up to this one.
Many thanks for your kind comments. I will pass them on to Gill and Graham! Hopefully we can tempt you to stay at Aillac another time....Carolyn
A spacious, well equipped country farmhouse.
We (two families with four children aged 3-10) spent a week at Aillac Farmhouse in late August 2015. It was a lovely week. The farmhouse is very spacious and very comfortably furnished. There is ample seating for everyone in the inside and outside living and eating areas. The kitchen is very well equipped with plenty of crockery and cutlery etc. The bathrooms are modern and there was always plenty of hot water. The towels were large and fluffy and the beds comfortable.
We were greeted by an English house keeper and made to feel very welcome.
The house is situated in beautiful, peaceful countryside. There is a play park nearby and a choice of supermarkets and small towns a short drive away. We also visited Perigueux, Brantome and the caves of the Vézère valley.
If there was one thing I could change, it would be the pool. As it is unheated and the weather was cool when we arrived, it was very cold. By the middle of the week, once the temperature outside was back up to the late 20's and into the 30's, we couldn't get the children out of it!
A wonderful place to stay.
Great for a "get away from it all" holiday
The farmhouse could not be better for peaceful, relaxing holiday. The house is huge and will easily cater for large families - the pool is sure to be the main attraction for the kids. The house provides everything we were looking for in a "get away from it all" break with some great local towns and villages to visit. If you are wedded to your tablet/ phone be aware signal is patchy and there is no wi-fi (there is free wi-fi at McDonalds in Aixe-sur-Vienne - 20 minutes away) should you feel the need - there is a great supermarket next to it.
We had a great time and would not hesitate to return.

Many thanks for your kind comments, the property is indeed a great "away from it all" property. We usually find the 3G coverage is ok. We did look into broadband this year but the unfortunately the option was not available to us. There is wifi at the local bar in St Pierre de Frugie too if you don't want to drive to Aixe.
We've recently returned from a fantastic stay at Aillac. We enjoyed every minute. The farmhouse is in a great position, very secluded but not remote with several supermarkets super market just 10 minutes drive away. The house is delightful and has such a homely feel that you can't help but completely relax! We definitely recommend the farmhouse and will most certainly be returning. We have recommended it to all of our friend who need a relaxing place to stay.
We had the most fantastic week at this beautiful farmhouse. It is well equipped and comfortable for our group of 8. No near neighbours to disturb with the kids making noise in the pool.
The owner was very accommodating and made the booking process very easy.
We thoroughly recommend it and will definitely be back!
Summer at Aillac 2010
Our party of six, four adults, one child and one baby, stayed for a fortnight at the end of August/beginning of September 2010.
The property owners are extremely helpful and efficient and booking the holiday with them could not be easier. This was the second visit for three of us and we definitely plan to return again. We were very well looked after by Marianne and the pool was beautifully maintained and clean.
It is beautifully characteristic, quiet, comfortable and well equipped. The location is perfect - not too far to go to buy your fresh bread and croissants, but nicely secluded and private. This is a great area for viewing wildlife, or for sitting back, relaxing with a good book and a cool dip in the pool if you begin to overheat. We would recommend a visit to Brantome, Limoges, Chalus, Grotte de Villars, Aixe-sur-Vienne (and especially 'La Maison de la Porcelaine') and, if you don't mind travelling further afield, would highly recommend a visit to Cognac. The centre of Cognac is very cosmopolitan, with wonderful brasseries, and there are plenty of famous distilleries to visit. Limoges Airport is conveniently located and very easy to get to. There are plenty of ideas and suggestions provided for places to visit and things to do. You won't get bored!!!
I cannot recommend this property highly enough. It is perfect for large or small groups, younger or older - there is space for cricket, badminton, football for the more energetic, without it impacting on those who would rather observe! This is the perfect get away and a great place to unwide - you just won't want to leave!!!
Many thanks for your kind comments, we do aim to please!
