Our house is part of a condominium of 30 properties, arranged around the shared pool and is fully secure with external wall and gates. We have extensive views over the town and the sea, with a sunny south facing aspect. This view can be enjoyed from the chairs outside the master bedroom or the terrace area on the ground floor, which has a table, six chairs and a barbecue. The house will be perfect for people wanting a peaceful retreat, with the beach and amenities not far away. The house provides the complete range of modern facilities, including air-conditioning, UK TV and free wireless internet access. The house also has electric shutters on all windows.

Why Roger Barrowcliffe chose Luz
We decided to buy our house in Luz after just one visit to the area - it just felt like the right place. The town itself is is large enough to have restaurants and facilities, but small enough to have its own distinct character. The condominium was obviously of high quality and the developers, Amilcar and Nuno Jorge, seemed to care about its appearance and future. Despite buying just at the point when the value of the pound was plunging downwards, we are very content with the outcome and only wish we had more time to enjoy it. The climate of the Western Algarve was a major factor in our thinking - the house can be enjoyed at all times of year. Luz is handily situated such that Lagos is very accessible, along with the more remote beaches to the West.
What makes this Villa unique
The condominium fells like a secret hideaway in Luz, which only a lucky few know about. It has a lovely aspect, with its elevated position and is very tranquil. Our terrace enjoys a sunny aspect at most times of the day and the pool is just a few steps away. Inside, the house has been finished to a very high standard and has a few bonus features, such as the extra long underground garage - which we use to play table tennis in! The basement area within the house is refreshingly cool in summer and a good retreat sometimes, so we have furnished it such that we can either relax or work there. All our guests who have visited have been very impressed with the house and its surroundings and several people have commented that it has exceeded their expectations.

We spent a week here in August with our 2 adult children and it couldn't have been better. The townhouse is spotless as are the surrounding gardens. Everything we needed was supplied. The beds were really comfortable and there was loads and loads of wardrobe space. There are air conditioning units in both bedrooms as well as the living room. The showers in both bathrooms were great. The walk into town is all downhill but coming back certainly provides a cardio workout. Would definitely recommend this place to anybody wanting a quiet, chilled out, comfortable holiday!

Beautiful, tasteful villa in a quiet area of Praia da Luz. The villa has the most gorgeous views, especially from the top floor. We would love to stay again and cannot recommend it enough.

Spacious New Home and a Great Host
The property is a nice walking distance down the hill to Luz, and Lagos is easily accessible by car. We had more than enough space in the unit. We chose to park on the street with our car because getting in and out of the underground garage was a bit tight. It was nice having our own pool - only a couple other people were using it each day as well. It was reasonably priced and Roger left clear instructions on how to find it. It was exactly what we were looking for!
I am very pleased to know that our house made your holiday an enjoyable one. I know what you mean about the underground parking though and it's something I have mastered with years of practice. Really happy with the townhouse. It was spotlessly clean and very modern - even better than the pictures. We also arrived to a complimentary welcome pack including a very nice bottle of wine - lovely! The complex is really nice and as most aren't sold is very quiet - we often had the pool to ourselves. The walk into town is fine but we tended to pop down in the car. I'd say it would definitely be too far in the heat of the day to walk, particularly as it is uphill on the way back! Don't forget a jacket/cardigan - we forgot how windy the Algarve can be and that really brought the temperature down on a few evenings. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this apartment to anyone - it's one of the best we've stayed in.

Wow! was our first impression of this beautiful holiday home in fabulous surroundings. A very warm welcome from Ana and a complimentary fridge full of goodies, a very thoughtful touch by the owners. The pictures do not do this property justice. There is a feel of quality in every room, modern decor with all the mod cons....Air con, wifi, BBQ, you name it, this place has it !!! The location was great for us (family of 4- 2 adults & 2 children) We enjoyed the walk into Luz & to the beach and felt it the perfect distance. We really didn't want to come home. We had the pool to ourselves most days. We plan to book again for next year! In summary: A truly perfect property in a quaint location. Idyllic !!!!!

We'll try and take some better pictures - your comments echo those made by previous guests and it may just be that it is not quite possible to capture the views from the house with a camera. The beach at Praia da Luz is very popular with families and is a 20 minute walk away through the town. Numerous other beaches can be easily accessed within a 20 minute drive in either direction along the coast, eg Praia Dona Ana at Lagos and the beach at Burgau. The wild and uncrowded west coast beaches are only 40 minutes away and great for surfing.
Luz is now only an hour's drive from Faro airport along the A22 toll road and easily reached from Junction 1. Car hire is recommended to get the best from your visit, but you can also arrange a taxi or transfer service (independently) from the airport if you wish.
Lagos is a short 10 minute drive away. Here you will find pleasant, pedestrianised cobbled streets, with shops and restaurants. Lagos also has several larger supermarkets than the one in Luz.
To the west, the coast is relatively undeveloped and the south westerly tip of Europe at Cabo St Vincent can be reached in half an hour's drive. Inland, the historic old town of Silves is also well worth visiting and is only a short drive away.
Booking Notes: A booking is secured by a 10-20% deposit (depending on the total) and all payments are made by either a bank transfer or by cheque. The balance of the payment is to be made 4 weeks prior to the stay. We accept either UK pounds or euros. Changeover Day: There is no defined changeover day and your stay can be tailored to as many days as you wish, with part weeks being charged on a pro rata basis.
