Beautiful home in quiet, secluded setting
The two of us spent 3 nights here and were sorry to have to leave -this would be a top choice for us if we're ever in the area again. This is an upscale home that is nicely decorated and well maintained -everything was in perfect working order. The wi-fi signal was strong throughout the home. We enjoyed the in-floor heat, the sophisticated lighting that let us set the exact lighting that we wanted, and the instant hot water in the kitchen. The home is in a very quiet neighborhood, with so much space between homes that you won't see or hear your neighbors, and it feels like you have the entire woods to yourself. Know before you go: the hardwood stairs can be a bit slippery in stocking feet (no shoes indoors), so some socks or slippers with rubber soles wouldn't be a bad idea.
Perfect little cabin.
Yo was awesome to deal with and made it a very easy experience. Great centralized location between Montrose, Telluride, and Ouray (the only places we were concerned with visiting on this trip). Highly recommend it. Thanks Yo!
Peaceful modern refuge with great location
Yolande's house sits atop a mesa in a nicely planned and private residential community.
The San Juan mountain views are fabulous, there is an abundance of wildlife (including a brown bear) and there are miles of nearby and easily accessible hiking trails.
The house is interestingly designed with a good downstairs flow of space from the kitchen to the great room. It was nice and clean with plenty and linens, towels and kitchen equipment. We liked the proximity to Ouray and Telluride but enjoyed some unexpectedly good restaurants down the hill in Ridgway...especially the Thai Paradise and the Adobe Inn.
Yo was helpful and responsive when we told her that the waterbed in the main sleeping room needed some more filling--and that the dishwasher needed some service.
And our special thanks to her for locating and mailing back some prescription meds that one of us left behind. She could not have been more gracious!
Quiet mountain retreat
Great place to relax and enjoy the mtns. Spectacular views, beautiful surrounding outdoors. Visitors included wild turkey and babies, deer including fawn. Great breezes, a little warm in mid afternoon but plenty of cool air, night and day. House has everything for your stay. Could have more tv channels. Ridgway is a great location for visiting this area
Great cabin, great host
We had a wonderful stay again. This is our third visit to this cabin. We enjoyed this stay as much as the past two. The surroundings are quiet and private. the cabin is very nicely equipped and has a nice floor plan. Ridgway is a short drive away. The skies are dark at night. We look forward to coming back in the future.
A Little Slice of Mountain Heaven!
We just returned from spending a week in this lovely cabin and I can't say enough about how much we loved it! It was by far the most well-stocked, comfortable, relaxing vacation rental we have ever stayed in. Only 10 minutes from Ridgway, and very close to Ouray and even Telluride. The peace, quiet and mountain views are stunning! We loved exploring the area, and found some beautiful hiking trails nearby off Dallas Creek Road.and Box Canyon Road in Ouray. (if you're up for a hike, Blue Lake Trail is amazing). Many deer visited us at the cabin, and we came home one evening to about 8-10 wild turkeys in the yard! We were even lucky enough to spot a young black bear nearby during one of our evening drives.Waking up to the view of the mountains was heaven each morning...second to none! We also loved throwing open the windows and enjoying the cool mountain air every day and night. Yolande was a wonderful hostess, and was quick to respond if we had any questions. She even took the time to pull together several outfitters we might be interested in when our Durango-Silverton train ride was cancelled due to the 416 fire in Durango. Everything was clean, comfortable and inviting, and it seemed that every detail was thought out....especially with regard to things vacationers might need or have forgotten! We were so sad to leave, but will definitely be back! :-)
Located in LogHill Village - access to approximately 10 miles of hiking trails just out the door. Golfing at Divide Ranch (with it's stunning vistas of the Sneffels range) just 1.5 miles away. Enjoy numerous activities (biking the Ridgway Area Trails, X-country ski thru the trails, head to Telluride for some skiing or shopping - then top the day off with a visit to Quray for a soak in the hot springs and / or a stop in Ridgway for some "world class" food.
