About Jill Warren
Jill & Greg: We are retired science teachers who have lived in the area for nearly 20 years. We purchased our own cabin in 1998 and we've spent every summer and our holidays exploring the Yellowstone ecosystem with our two children. We know the park intimately, and we are happy to sit with you and go over the map of Yellowstone and make recommendations about “must see” stops, sights, or hikes (as well as the best places to spot wolves, bears, and other highlights). In 2015/16, we built Creekside at Yellowstone. We look forward to sharing our appreciation and love for this area with our guests.
Why Jill Warren chose Silver Gate
The Silver Gate Cooke City area is an amazing place. We love the proximity to the park and its wildlife and the unique feel of these two historical towns. Wilderness is all around and a visit here will change you.

Picturesque and perfect in every way!
Creekside is better in person than in the pictures! The pride of ownership is evident in every detail of the property from the immaculate condition house and property to the smallest interior design details. Please know that this evaluation comes from a person who has been known to travel with her own cleaning supplies and never leaves home without an iron. So, when I describe the home as perfect in every way, then that is a compliment of the highest order! From the moment that you enter the home, you are awed. The vaulted ceilings are gorgeous and from there every detail just keeps adding to the overall impression. The kitchen has been designed to make the cook of the family feel right at home and the pantry is stocked with spices that one might need to make a meal for the family. The bathrooms are so clean--even the baseboards and corners on the floor! Towels are soft and pillowy and the bed sheets are as well. The beds sleep so comfortably that it was difficult rolling out of bed to get to the park in the mornings. The property is situated perfectly for the Yellowstone explorer who wants to be close to the park to observe wildlife, and for those times that one decides to stay at home, the wildlife--moose, mule deer, bison, and weasels--will come to you while you relax on the deck. The only piece of advice that I would give for families or large parties is to plan a trip to the grocery store at some point early in the vacation to stock the cupboards as the restaurants and stores around Creekside are pricey. The food is amazing (no complaints or criticisms about the taste), but you will overspend your budget on food without planning (deli meat sandwich is $9.00). Jill and Greg truly go out of their way to ensure that your experience as their guest is awesome. They left a Welcome basket with a handwritten note, bottle of wine for the adults, and a certificate for ice cream for the kids on the counter for us when we arrived. Greg even stopped by the property to assist with building a fire in the firepit so my boys could roast marshmallows one evening. We truly appreciated that example of going over and beyond! I hope that my family gets the opportunity to come back to Yellowstone, and if we do, we will stay at Creekside again! This is without a doubt the best property that I have had the pleasure of renting through VRBO and that is in large part to the little details that Jill and Greg thought of to make the trip special for my family!
Our family, including 2 teenage girls, 6 year old boy and 74 year old grandpa, stayed at Creekside for 4 days and it was AMAZING. The location is awesome, the house is completely stocked and beautiful. And Jill and Greg were a great source of information regarding hikes and other plans in Yellowstone. Loved everything.
Doesn't get any better!!!!
If I could have given this place 10 stars I would! This place is gorgeous.....if you want beauty, wildlife, peace and quiet, plus to reconnect with family this place is for you. YELLOWSTONE IS SO CLOSE! Wildlife is everywhere. We saw 19 bears, 5 moose, 4 bald eagles, 1 beautiful fox, elk, too many to count bison, mule deer, pikas , chipmunks, ravens and an abandoned wolf den. SNOW surprised us and we built a snowman too! We got it all. Loved our wildlife guide "cara" she was great! Had a marvelous hike to a waterfall right in Silver Gate. EVERDAY inside Yellowstone was incredible. Especially liked the Canyon it was a winter wonderland and it was JUNE! So many memories my family will never forget. The house and property are beautiful. JILL AND GREG HAVE THOUGHT OF YOUR EVERY NEED. They were so helpful and there place is immaculately clean. You won't need anything except to buy groceries. I wouldn't stay any other place than here. THANKS JILL AND GREG. You helped to give us the best vacation ever!!!!! Tami and David, Jonathan, Daniel, Laurie and Alejandro.
This property is beautiful and we were well taken care of by the owners. House is comfortable and has pretty much all necessities. They are absolutely wonderful vacation home hosts. The property is located on the stream which offered great fishing opportunity with a catch of 10 cut throat.
We were extremely happy with the stay.
Greatly enjoyed amenities, they have thought of everything a visitor will need for a stay. Owner were very communicative and made the process of checking in very easy. Even bottle of wine waiting when checking in. Great value!!!
Great place and lots of things for cooking already there to use!
From our house, it’s just a 15 - 20 minute drive to Lamar Valley, home to wolves, black and grizzly bear, herds of bison, pronghorn, and elk. All parts of Yellowstone can easily be accessed from our cabin. You’ll love the history, geology, hydrology, ecology, and all the wild animals you’ll see as you travel through the park. It’s not uncommon to see moose, deer, bison, pine marten, weasels, and fox roaming right on our property here in Silver Gate! We can’t think of a better location to stay when visiting Yellowstone.
There is SO much to do in and near our community of Silver Gate/Cooke City. Take a hike out the front door to three nearby waterfalls, or visit area restaurants and gift shops. The many activities include bike riding, fishing, tubing on Soda Butte Creek, kayaking on area rivers or Beartooth Lakes, rock climbing, animal viewing, horseback riding, river rafting, ATV rental, and birding. Take a drive into the Beartooth Mountains and see America’s most scenic highway. Visit the classic western town of Cody, WY and take in a rodeo, or visit the world-class Buffalo Bill Museum. Don’t forget relaxing on the deck with a good book. In the winter months, ski or snowshoe out the front door to area trails, ice climb on the frozen waterfalls, ride your sleds to the groomed trails around Cooke City (plenty of room for a trailer and your trucks in the driveway), or relax by the fire with a good book!
