I’m impressed on how neat the cabin was and the location it is on. I will definitely come back and rent with them again. I had a wonderful experience. My family and friends did as well, wish we could have stayed longer.
Recent stay at Huckleberry Hideaway
I was very disappointed with the the cabin. cabinet door missing in the kitchen, stove was dirty, dishwasher was so stained on the inside it needs to be replaced. Refrigerator freezer section had a previous spill in it that had not been cleaned up. All baseboards have about an inch of dust on them. And the walls were all dirty with hand prints going down the steps, that my rag was completely black when I wiped the upper left side due to I had small children touching it every time they went down and the door were dirty where they are frequently touched. The steps coming up from the bottom level were dirty with shoe scuffs/dirt. The hall bath had a bad odor which made the cabin smell also (it was not used). Mold was around all the showers. The fact that the linens were all dark brown made me wonder if they were really clean. The sofa and loveseat had stains and worn out, need to be replaced. I visited the cabin that my other family member were staying in and their cabin was much, much nicer than ours. Needless to say I was very unhappy with my cabin. This cabin has never had a good cleaning Needs to be cleaned from top to bottom
We are very sorry for this. We have discussed this with our cleaning manager and are addressing the issues. We always encourage our guests if you happen to have a situation that you do not feel like the cabin is clean, please call us so we can come back and take care of it! Again, we apologize and wish you had called when you first noticed.
Great Secluded Pet Friendly Cabin
We celebrated my daughter-in-law's birthday. We had people travel from Florida and Wisconsin for the outing. Enjoyed the area and had a great time.
We are so glad you all enjoyed your family time and celebrating your daughter in laws birthday! We hope you come back again soon!
I enjoyed the location of the cabin. It was secluded and a fun adventure to get to. Truly gave you a cabin in the mountain feel. That is why I am giving my review 3 stars. If it wasn't for that I would not have given it anything higher than 1 star. Upon arrival we noticed garbage all over the grounds of the cabin including a sock in a tree off the deck. That really takes away from the view and galmous mountain life. The cabin itself needs a lot of TLC. The kitchen counters looked like they were used as a cutting board. I understand that isn't the owners fault however I feel like it should be addressed for sanitary reasons. The couches were stained and very worn out, hardly any padding left in the cushions. Your sleeping options were a canoe (meaning the mattress dipped in the middle) or springs massaging your back while you slept. Neither of which lead to a good nights sleep. The good thing is that the sheets were clean. I can not say that for the bathrooms though. The upstairs bathroom in particular had a quick wipe down and that was it. Toothpaste splattering was all over the wall behind the faucet and on the mirror. The shower had mold in the gap between the 2 pieces and there was mold at the base of the shower and floor tile. The water was very rusty and foul smelling. There was no foosball table which is fine but don't advertise it if it's not there. I feel bad for bashing the house since the management office was so easy and nice to deal with but I feel like the truth is more important then not wanting to hurt someone's feelings.
Thank you for your review. We understand the complaints you had with Huckleberry Hideaway. This cabin used to have Foosball but it was taken out so since then we have taken off the pictures of it and it is not advertised. The problem with the water has been an issue for a while and the owner just put in a new water system last week. So that should help with lots of problems at the cabin. As you can imagine, updating a cabin of this size can not be done overnight and is a costly thing. But we can assure you, the owners are working very hard to update all of the items that need it as quickly as possible. The cleaning issues were addressed and we are very sorry that was ever a concern. Please don't feel bad as we encourage our guests to let us know if there are issues. We would much rather know what needs to be fixed than to cover it up and lose guests. We do hope you will contact us for your next Smoky Mountain vacation and we can help you find the perfect place to suit your needs.
The house was wonderful loved everything about it !!! The drive way is not motorcycle friendly, but other than that I would stay there again 😁
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Huckleberry Hideaway! We hope you do come back (if you are not riding your motorcycle ;-)
