The chalet is a rebuilt village house in Villaroger on the Eastern edge of the Les Arcs/Paradiski ski region 150m from the nearest chairlift. The village itself has only 60 houses, 2 restaurants and a bar but the nearest shop is only 5 minutes away. There are 6 bedrooms (5 twins and 1 twin bunk room), 4 bathrooms and a huge living/dining area on the topfloor with a massive log fireplace and balconies running round 3 sides of the room. The chalet has uninterrupted views over the Isere valley below and across to other ski areas like La Rosiere and Ste Foy. People love the chalet and the location in winter and summer because most of our clients come back year after year. In winter the chairlift almost seems like our own personal one as there are never any queues. In summer the mountain footpaths start 20m from our door. You can find lots more details on our website.

About John Allen
I am one of the co-owners of our chalet which we rebuilt from a complete wreck about 25 years ago. Three families fell in love with Villaroger because it was tiny, unspoilt hamlet (and still is) yet only 150m from a chairlift which gives access to Europe's largest linked ski area: Paradise. I am now retired, but my wife and I still ski enthusiastically and also just love being in the chalet in the summer, surrounded by fantastic scenery and terrific walking paths through wildflower-laden fields and past gurgling mountain streams.
John Allen purchased this Chalet in 1980
Why John Allen chose Villaroger
We went skiing in a catered chalet in Villaroger for the first time in 1988, having been persuaded, to give it a try instead of Val d'Isere. We fell in love with the place: a hamlet of only 60 houses yet with its own ski lift to to join up with the massive Les Arcs complex. No queues, no Hooray Henries. Just a couple of restaurants and the friendliest locals in the Alps. So there was only one thing for it; to buy one of the ramshackle houses (no roof, one wall missing, no floors!) and rebuild it into a family ski home. What we had not taken into account was the fact that summers in the Alps are also fantastic. I once counted the number of wild flowers between the chalet and the ski lift 150 m away: 43 varieties. Winter or summer it has a magic all of its own.
