Stone built end of terrace ex-miner's cottage. Cosy interior kitchen / lounge equipped with wood burner. Front door opens into comfortable reception room. Storage heaters provide additional heating. Modern shower and bathroom upstairs. Master bedroom includes 6ft bed. 2nd bedroom includes double bed, plus bunk bed. Exit to the terraced garden from outside gate or from the master bedroom on the first floor. Pet friendly accommodation (restrict pets to downstairs only).

Cozy Getaway

My family stayed here in late September and loved it. The cottage is cozy and comfortable. When we arrived we were greeted by a housewarming gift of locally made bread, butter, and jam and a very clean home. The location is wonderful and the owners were very easy and pleasant to work with. An all around great experience. We definitely recommend and hope to return!

cottage authentique et chaleureux

la propriétaire est charmante et très à l'écoute, le cottage est authentique et très bien décoré. l'équipement electromenager est de très bonne qualité. la literie est de très bonne qualité également, très confortable un "vrai nid douillet". la salle de bain est neuve avec une grande douche. le cottage est très bien placé pour visiter le nord ou le centre du pays de Galles. possibilité de balade à pied du cottage, plage à 5 min. nous recommandons fortement ce cottage. Stunning location in a beautiful quiet area

If you are looking for a peaceful location, a very short walk from the magnificent beach and surrounded by beautiful scenery then I would highly recommend this property.We stayed as a family and the bedrooms are of a large size to accommodate. The terraced garden and views were wonderful. Parking was easy. Close to local amenities, a shop in Fairbourne selling your essentials. A great base for exploring this area of Welsh coastline and Snowdonia. A wonderful area which I fell in love with all over again. Thank you.

Why they chose this property

Mawddach Cottage has been much loved by members of our family for 2 generations. Since taking ownership from our parents in 2011 we have been renovating it in stages while trying to preserve the charm of the original miner's cottage. We are very proud of what has been achieved, from a new slate roof to a complete reworking of the layout upstairs. It is a very cosy and comfortable place for a holiday and we hope to keep this for the next generation of our family to enjoy.

What makes this property unique

Mawddach Cottage is well situated, within 3 minutes walk to the beach, Fairbourne or the mountains and only a short car ride away from the regional towns of Dolgellau, Towyn and Barmouth. This is a heritage property, built originally for a mining family. The cottage is built into the hillside of of a mountain, Is Craic. We have storage heaters and a wood burner as heating. It is a good idea to use the wood burner if you would like the cottage to be toasty and warm!
