About the property

Set in a pleasant rural location, La Maison Grange consists of three gites ( 2 x 3-bedroom & 1 x 2-bedroom).

All the gites have a comfortable rustic feel with all the mod cons that you would expect in a holiday home. Some of the original oak has been used in the tasteful decor to create a minimalistic style.

All the gites provide you with spacious living and dining areas complete with comfortable sofas and dining. There are wireless bluetooth speaker systems to enable you to listen to your favourite music, flat screen TVs and free view satellite plus DVD players. DVD's are available on request at no extra charge.

The light and airy kitchens are fully equipped (with matching china & glass!) to allow you to get creative in the kitchen, from traditional French cuisine to sandwiches and salads. We have installed a dishwasher (Matisse & Renoir) washing machine, full size gas cooker, a fridge-freezer (to keep the white wine& beers cool) a microwave and a modern Tassimo coffee maker for fresh coffee in the morning (english tea supplied too!)

The double French doors lead directly to private patio areas with seating plus BBQs to cook up those tasty steaks, juicy chops, succulent prawns or simple sausages and burgers.

The 14m x 6m salt water swimming pool is just down the path and there are sun loungers & umbrellas placed around the pool for your use. The pool is cleaned every day, there is a security gate fitted and the fencing meets French legislation.

La Maison Grange is equidistant between Bordeaux and Cognac making this the perfect gite choice to leisurely explore the world famous Cognac and wine regions that are right on the doorstep. Whether you are with a group of friends or with the family there is something for all ages to enjoy. Heading 30 minutes south is the famous wine region of Pomerol. A little further and you'll find in St. Emilion, the Libournais appellations, or Cotes-de-Bourg. Less than 60 minutes and you'll be in the centre of Bordeaux. About Jane Jones

We, John and Jane Jones became the proud owners of La Maison Grange in January 2010. We both agreed it was too early to retire(!) therefore a new challenge was needed. After much deliberation about what path to take, we decided to bring our standards and expertise to this beautiful part of France - hence the purchase of La Maison Grange. Lots of work has been carried out since we came including landscaping the grounds, upgrading the gites and summer house, replacing patios and refurbishing the pool area.

Jane Jones purchased this cottage in 2010

Why Jane Jones chose Parcoul-Chenaud

We fell in love with the house as soon as we saw it as it ticked all the boxes in what we were looking for. The previous owners had tastefully renovated an circa 1880 barn into a very beautiful main house & 3 attached but very private gites with a fabulous swimming pool.

The area is very rural - a new experience for us both having moved from a busy city environment. There is always plenty to see as we venture out every day with our dogs Molly & Buster. Although we live in a very rural spot, overlooking the beautiful Dronne Valley, we are not far from city life in Bordeaux, the wonderful vineyards of St Emilion or the enchanting town of Cognac.

There is very little hustle and bustle here - definitely life is lived at a much slower pace!

What makes this cottage unique

Been disappointed in the quality of your accommodation in the past?

Fed up with the rest?

Now try the best!

We take great pride and pleasure in making your holiday one to remember with quality accommodation, furnishings, equipment and surroundings.

We live on site so are readily available to advise and give guidance on the local area, facilities and opportunities. We offer a welcome soiree on a Sunday afternoon to introduce ourselves and the guests to each other over a class of chilled local wine.

There's lots of space for children to enjoy whilst at the same time remaining safe. The swimming pool is situated close to all the gites. La Maison Grange is ideally situated for guests to enjoy a very relaxed, peaceful holiday whist at the same time being within striking distance of some of the regions finest places of interest. Thursday is BBQ night for our guests who wish to participate and these evenings have become something of a legend!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Third year at La Maison Grange. Loved it as much as the first time. Clean, comfortable gite (Matisse). The hosts Jane & John were very welcoming & we had great fun at the weekly BBQs. We'll be back! The Collins family / Essex

A great base to explore the area. Lovely gite - well impressed with the attention to detail & cleanliness. We have already booked for next year because this place will become very popular as it's discovered by more holiday makers! The Pruett family / Bristol

A nice relaxing place which is very child friendly & safe. John & Jane couldn't have done more to make us feel welocme. We wish them every success for the future. The Carolle family / Poole

We loved it at La Maison Grange. The facilities are brilliant especially the summer house for those rainy days as there's so much to keep the kids occupied with. All the guests get together for the BBQ evening to enjoy John's superb cooking skills! John & Jane deserve every success. The Ridout family / Taunton

Great Base for a Family Holiday

  • 5 of 5

Lovely well equipped gite with good facilities including UK television and internet access. The excellent pool is shared with the two other adjoining gites and is a great place to just relax and chill out. Jane and John, the owners were fantastic, very friendly without being intrusive, providing lots of useful information. Their welcome drinks and bbq evening were very enjoyable, even if they were somewhat disrupted by a very Scottish storm! The location is a bit remote but there is plenty to do in the area without too much travelling and a visit to St Emilion or Bordeaux is highly recommended.
