This delightful cosy two bedroom holiday cottage is set in the grounds of a Manor House. It is an ideal place to relax and unwind. In the grounds there is a beautiful landscaped sunken garden, a woodland walk, a fishing lake, an outdoor swimming pool (summer only) and is a fantastic place to spend a holiday. From this self catering holiday cottage you can visit the many local historic attractions, as is located twixt the borders of 1006 country and the beautiful walking country of the South Downs. Eastbourne has a beautiful seafront and award winning beaches (Blue Flag) together with many other attractions for all the family to enjoy and is only 4 miles away. The area was voted "The Sunniest Place in Great Britain" (Halifax Quality of Life Survey and "Most Group Friendly Destination in the UK" and has obtained many other awards and accolades over the past years. Available for long lets during the periods October to March. Pets considered at discretion of owner. Dogs should be on leads within the grounds but easy access to fields, woods and walking trails. Lots of child friendly lawns and local rabbits. Open air Swimming Pool during Summer season.

Fantastic cottage, fantastic weather, what more can we say. A day spent on the South Downs which was enjoyed by all, we even managed to see a few lambs being born and we will remember he lazy days at the beach. We will be back soon. - Alex, Tom, Abi and Archie.

Very quiet place to stay

Generally all good. However bed linen needs renewing particularly duvets and pillows. One of the beds is very soft and could do with being replaced.

Cuckoo cottage home from home

We recently spent 4 days (5 nights) at this lovely cottage. It’s quiet, scenic location could not be bettered and inside there is everything you want for a comfortable stay. It really was home from home.

Made arrangements well in advance and the owner was so great to deal with. Arrived to find a lovely little cottage in a nice quiet area not far from Polegate. The place was clean and well cared for. We only had one small issue and the owner's son fixed it for us immediately. Thanks Gordon, for the great place to stay. A lovely cottage for a small family. Hope to come back to visit again.

Loved the tranquil quite surroundings. Its in a great spot for looking at the historical places in East Sussex.

Very well equipped, everything you could want is supplied.

Found the internet handy could use the tablet for keeping g in touch with the family.

Pevensey Bay Village and Hailsham Market Town 5 minute drive, 10 minutes to Eastbourne and South Downs Country Park, Lewes and Brighton within approx 45 minute drive.

Buses are available from the Hilliers garden centre to Eastbourne and Hailsham.

Cuckoo cottage is situated in a small hamlet near Eastbourne which holds the sunshine record for the whole of the UK and rivals some continental areas. It is a popular area for water sports and Eastbourne has its own lifeboat in the new harbour which is well worth a visit.. The region has many good walks, golf courses and is fantastic area for the cyclist with the Cuckoo Trail just 3 minutes distance.

There are many local attractions – Pevensey Castle, the beautiful remains of a Roman Fortress built in the 4th C as a defence against Saxon Pirates. Herstmonceux Castle, a magnificent moated castle set in 550 acres of glorious parkland and superb Elizabethan gardens. Eastbourne Bandstand, built in 1931 and is situated on the seafront has various concerts and events throughout the summer months. For the family. Devonshire and Congress Theatres often showing some of the London Stage Shows. The Sovereign Centre, offering a gym, pool with flume and wave machine, 25 metre lap pool and a fantastic health suite. Sovereign Harbour, an award wining marina with a variety of gift, sport, boat accessory shops and restaurants. Heritage round trip pleasure boat cruises from Eastbourne's beacon to Beachy Head and its famous Lighthouse. Fort Fun, fun packed 2 acre amusement park for all the family. Treasure Island, theme adventure golf, adventure play ground with a paddling pool and a sandy beach.

At the entrance to Glyndley Manor is a new garden centre (Hilliers) with a excellent Café / Restaurant.

A 30% deposit is due to reserve the cottage and the balance is due 8 weeks prior to rental date. There is also a £100 surety deposit for serious (not minor) damages, loss of keys or remote controls etc. Deposit fully refunded by internet bank transfer after your stay.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is normally on Saturday during high season.
