About Daphne Vickers
My husband and I fell in love with Corsica more than 20 years ago when we visited it for the first time. We bought No.3 Piazze straight away and later we bought No.4. We used to spend the whole summer there with family joining us for early morning swims, trips to the mountains and drinks on the terrace. Sadly, a few years ago, my husband died but I could not bear to sell my lovely villas and decided to try holiday lets. It took off straight away and I have had some wonderful visitors - even though I seldom meet them! Over the years and with the help of my son Peter, who owns the properties with me, improvements have been made every year with new bathrooms and kitchens and enlarged terraces. Each year we have a new project and my love for this beautiful island continues to grow and will always be with me. Daphne Vickers.
Daphne Vickers purchased this Villa in 1989
Why Daphne Vickers chose Marine de Sant'ambrogio
My cousins bought a nearby property here in 1969 which is still owned and enjoyed by members of the family. When we visited them for a holiday in 1989 we immediately fell in love with the beautiful area and purchased Maxi Villa in this wonderful location which is very special.
What makes this Villa unique
Fabulous sea views from the spacious terraces; beautiful tree-filled area; lovely sandy beach; small port with friendly shops and restaurant and fully equipped with everything you could possibly need.....

Everything that we needed was in the Villa. Great location with nice beach right in front of us.
The house was small but functional with everything available. Fortunately there was air conditioning in the bedrooms which was a life saver. The outdoors are well equipped with BBQ and several sitting areas. There is a 2 mn walk down to the beach and a restaurant, grocery store and bakery within walking distance.
Daphne did a good job at making us feel welcome.
I am delighted this lovely family enjoyed their holiday at our Maxi Villa and hope they will visit us again. Daphne.
Great location near sandy beach
Lovely terrace with comfortable furniture and good outdoor cooking facilities, overlooking a beautiful view of the sea. Short path to the sandy beach with clear water and lots of fish to see. Short walk along the beach to bakery and shops for morning croissants etc.The interior decor is old fashioned but the property has everything you could possibly need to enjoy your stay. It is well placed for short journeys to Calvi, L'Ile Rousse and the mountain villages. We also really enjoyed eating out some evenings in Algajola which is only 5 mins away and has a lovely atmosphere.
MAXI VILLA 3
Corsica has been on our bucket list for a long time and we came across this Villa by chance.
There are a two villas, Maxi 3 and Mini 4 sited on a small development in Marina de San Ambroggio on the North west coast between Cavli and L'Ile Rousse.
They are within 2 minutes stroll of a beautiful, sandy beach with good access into a warm Meditereanean Sea.
5-10 minutes walk to the Port where there is a baker, butcher, snack bar, wine shop, supermarket and an excellent restaurant.
The villa is extremely well equipped even including a salad spinner and garlic crusher.
Both the house and beach towels are plentiful and of good quality. As an added bonus the owners provide beach chairs, parasols, beach mats and equipment for children.
The villa is very comfortable with powerful showers, quiet air conditioning, dish washer and washing machine. When we arrived there were cleaning products available which visitors can use but replace when finished. The outside furniture is excellent and with both shaded and sunny areas which we used constantly.
It is obvious that this is the owners' home as well as a holiday let, they have thought of everything.
Daphne and her son were delightful and helpful and we have no hesitation in recommending this property.

A HIDDEN GEM
An absolutely wonderful island, magnificent location along with more than superb accommodation. If you are looking for a quieter, very laid back type of holiday, this just does not get any better. We have been coming here for around ten years and still enjoy it ever so much
Lovely to have guests who return to our two lovely villas year after year and enjoy the improvements we make every season - just as we welcome new visitors who come for a relaxing holiday to enjoy the stunning views from the terrace with a chilled glass of Corsican wine.
We have welcomed visitors from all across Europe and all parts of the world from Norway to New Zealand, from Venice to the Virgin Islands, to stay at one of our two private villas by the sea and explore the beauty of Corsica.
fabulous villa - we will return
Villa had everything we wanted and was so well equipped it felt like home from home. View from terrace to die for. Beach great for children. We loved it!
Two minutes walk from the beautiful sandy beach which is safe for small children. Beach and other towels provided.
Car hire highly recommended so best to book in advance. Nearest airport, Calvi. 10km. But Bastia (50km) is recommended with cheaper charter flights with Easyjet etc. Alternatives are Easyjet to Nice connecting to the daily Air France flights to Calvi. Or ferries to Calvi or Ile Rousse.
A few minutes walk along the beach, through the trees or down the road takes you to the small port of Sant'Ambroggio. The tourist centre of Calvi, with its winding cobbled streets and boutiques, is about 10km away and the old colonial port of Ile Rousse is a similar distance. For trips to the mountains, forests and villages you will need a car though you can hop on the little train which trundles along the coast to both towns stopping off at beaches along the way.
There is a family-run supermarket at the port as well as several shops and restaurants, tennis, boat trips and a swimming pool with instructors for children. You will find lots of information in the Visitor's Books and 'Handy Hints' at the villas as well as maps and suggestions of what to do and where to go. There are beach chairs, snorkling equipment, and parasols and you are welcome to use the many items you will find in cupboards.
