About The Owner

Susan and Allan: we live in the Scottish Borders but wanted to have a home in Edinburgh. We have family who reside in Edinburgh that we visit frequently. The apartment is ideally placed to get the most from a holiday in Edinburgh. We hope that guests will find the comfortable accommodation as much of a pleasure to stay in as we do.

Why The Owner chose Stockbridge

We had been searching for three years for an apartment in the heart of Edinburgh that would be ideal for us to use and to holiday let. The apartment has been fully refurbished.The property is superbly located in the Dean area of Edinburgh, which runs alongside the Water of Leith and lies just a few minutes walk from the retail and commercial heart of Edinburgh. The apartment enjoys all the benefits city living has to offer with restaurants, bistros and shops located in nearby vicinity. There is no need for a car as main bus routes are close by that cover most parts of the town and surrounding areas. Neighbouring Stockbridge, just a ten minute walk beside the water of Leith, also provides further local shopping and a Waitrose supermarket.

What makes this apartment unique

Dean village is a tranquil green oasis only five minutes from Princes Street. Dean is located in a conservation area which forms part of Edinburgh World Heritage Sites The apartment is part of an historic mill conversion.

We regret that we cannot accept pets and the flat is strictly non-smoking. The flat has full central heating. Outside: There is a beautiful garden overlooking the Water of Leith to the rear of the property which you are welcome to use and enjoy at your leisure. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and bed linen are provided, extra towels are available by request. Cleaning and linen change is done between lets or by request. Great place in a picturesque location.

This flat is a great little find just outside the congestion of the old town. The setting in Dean Village is beautiful and quiet. We are a family of 3 with a child under 10 and it worked out very well for us and the walk to the Royal Mile is typical of our previous European experiences when you want to stay just outside of it all.

The flat is well appointed with everything we needed. There are plenty of dining options around as well that can take you away from all the other tourists on the Mile.

Susan was fantastic. Always attentive to my messages and the check in instructions are easy and flawless.

We would stay again if our travels find us back in Edinburgh.

Superb location, immaculate and had everything we needed.

It was in an ideal location to get around Edinburgh. 7 mins walk to the tram at West End. The family day ticket was excellent allowed us to use the trams and buses all day..mind you walking around allows you to really get a feel of the city. The apartment was very quiet and it had everything plus more that we needed.

It was immaculate inside, and we would definitely go back. Dean village is stunning in itself. Suited us as a family. We found the nearest supermarket on foot was Tesco Express at the West end -(Near House of Fraser) and a bit further out of Dean village was Waitrose. There is so much to do in Edinburgh, so to have a fabulous apartment to return to at the end of a tired day was such a bonus. Thank you Susan and Jacqui.

A Quiet, Cheerful, Comfortable Retreat Close to the Royal Mile

This apartment was just as depicted online. It was very clean, comfortable, well appointed, and perfectly situated in a quiet neighborhood off the Royal Mile. Not only did we have easy walking access to all of the sights along the Royal Mile but we loved the peaceful wooded trail that ran along the river right outside our door. We felt we had the best of both worlds: peace and quiet every evening away from crowds by day! Our rental car could have been inconvenient to park but fortunately we were in Edinburgh over a weekend when street parking at this location was easy to find. Susan is a very responsive, friendly, and helpful host. We highly recommend this apartment to everyone!

This lovely, tidy apartment had everything we needed

From the fully-fitted kitchen to the lovely comfortable beds and even a selection of DVDs, we had everything we needed. The apartment was spotless and tidy and in a beautiful location that was not too far away from shops and transport. We cooked meals in because it was less expensive and nicer than eating out. Susan gave great directions and instructions on access to the apartment as well as recommendations on local events like the Sunday market at Stockbridge. We had a wonderful stay.

Wonderful apartment - GREAT location

We loved the apartment, it really is as described. But the location is really the kicker here. Edinburgh is a great city but after a while you need to get away from the tourist hordes. Dean Village is perfect place from which to explore.

A wonderful space, well-located and perfectly furnished

This is a great place to stay in Edinburgh. The flat is nicely furnished and stocked. We really enjoyed the wine and crackers Susan left for us too. The location is close enough to walk just about everywhere you want to go in Edinburgh but in a nice quiet location with a private garden if you just want to relax for a bit. We can’t wait to go back and stay here again.
