Why Laura Bough chose York
We moved to Holtby in 2003 because it was a beautiful little village that was close enough to York for us to commute quickly to the city centre for David's work and Emily's school yet felt like we were in the middle of the countryside when we were at home relaxing. Our nearest pub is only 3/4 mile away in the village of Warthill and the pub next to the village duckpond.

Fantastic cottage, just right for a couple, located on the outskirts of York and using the park n ride saved us loads more cash.
A fantastic few days in a beautiful cottage.
The Apple Barn is a perfect place for touring Yorkshire. It also provides a perfect hideaway for anyone wishing to have some 'chill' time due to its position in the lovely quiet village of Holtby.
The cottage is a very clean, well presented cottage with all the amenities you're likely to need for a stay.
Laura and David are a very welcoming couple who are always there if you need them.
Wonderful time in a excellent little cottage. Very comfortable and well equipped. Good location for visiting York and the Yorkshire coast. Would certainly recommend to others.
Great base for exploring York.
Small but we'll appointed cottage in very convenient position for access to York. Excellent Park and Ride service close by. Owners very pleasant and helpful.
Home from home cottage in quiet location
A great place close to the park and ride into York with its many attractions. It's also close to the North York moors where we found the quaint Goathland or Aidensfield for Heartbeat fans.
The welcome gifts were very welcome.
Very comfortable and well-equipped, in attractive setting and convenient location.
Very convenient for Park and Ride into York, yet in attractive rural situation. Essential to keep the written directions in hand when arriving, not just satnav or street address, as the cottage is only visible and accessible from a lane alongside the village church. All appropriate furniture and fittings provided and in good order, other than a badly stained downstair carpet letting appearances down. We'd definitely consider booking again if travelling up this way, as it suited us very well, thanks.
