A well maintained, tastefully and comfortably furnished villa offering everything to make your stay just right. Roomy, light and airy, it benefits from a gentle cooling breeze off the sea. 5 minutes walk and you will be in the village where you will find bars, cafes, shops and restaurants offering excellent local produce. Walk along past the marina to the port and see the catch being unloaded and the fishermen mending their nets. The Saturday morning market is a must. A 20 minute walk along the promenade takes you to Torre del Mar where you will find even more choice. During June, July, August and September there are festivals to enjoy and the night market is well worth mooching around. The Baviera Golf Course is 5 minutes away by car and the Axarquia (area of natural beauty) a tranquil haven of countryside right on the doorstep.

Hello, my name is Gill and I live with my husband Paul here in the Axarquia. We retired here 4 years ago due to Paul´s arthritis. I used to run a B & B in Dorset and Paul was a wall and floor tiler. He can turn his hand to just about anything and is therefore able to do any maintenance to our property - a very handy and talented chap to have about the place! We can recommend places to see, things to do, and where to eat. We would not recommend somewhere we would not go. Paul and I are very proud of our house and are sure you will be very comfortable and happy staying there. Hope to see you.

Why Gill Tebano chose Caleta de Vélez

Initially we purchased this house as an investment/holiday home. The first time we viewed it we loved it and that was that, we bought it. We have never regretted it and when we sold up in the UK we lived in it for 10 months. Don´t tell Paul, but I would move back there tomorrow I like it so much. There is a lovely feel about Caleta and the people who live there and it is so close to everything and the weather is lovely all year round.

What makes this villa unique

Great view from the master bedroom balcony. Direct access to gardens and pools. Small residential area and well maintained.

We have really enjoyed our stay here. If anything, Owners direct does not do your home justice. We thought it would be nice but it is better than you would expect ( maybe a good thing? ) from the pictures on the site. TH

On top of this I will also be charged. Our pricing is very straightforward - a week (7 nights) is either £500.00 Low, £600.00 Med. and £700.00 High. Therefore I am asking all my prospective guests to ignore the 'enquiry boxes / dates etc., and email me directly on as has been the system for the past 9 years which has operated without any problems or extra charges. Our holiday renters are important to us and we prefer the personal touch and being contactable very quickly for questions and information. I always reply very quickly to enquiries. If you do not receive an email from me please check your trash/junk box. All guests to provide own beach / pool towels. Every year we do maintenance and make upgrades to the property.

Great holiday villa

We had a great week in this villa, the pools are just a few steps from the terrace. Lots of things available to use that are stored in the garage such as beach mats, cool box, loungers etc. The kitchen is well equipped with all the usuals as well as a dishwasher, microwave and a washing machine.

Ceiling fans in the lounge and bedrooms and shutters to all windows. There are 3 bedrooms, one kings size with a balcony and ensuite and two twin bedrooms, one with a small balcony, a family bathroom with a bath and separate shower cubicle, also a downstairs shower room. The teenagers were very happy to have the use of wifi and sky tv. The villa is set in a complex on a big hill which is very hard going to walk up, a car is essential to get far although we did see a few bus stops around. Great views from the balcony in the main bedroom, i missed seeing that when i opened my curtains at home this morning.

Caleta itself has a few nice restaurants, we walked around the night market. Torre del Mar is bigger with many places to eat, its really lively in the evenings. We went to the water park one day, book online the day before to save on entrance prices. There are many beaches to use, beach bars/restaurants a plenty.

We were disappointed that there was no air conditioning as the advert stated it was in the villa and two of the shutters kept jamming too but we made the owner aware of these things so they could be sorted.

Overall we were really impressed with this holiday villa and would happily stay there again.

5 minutes walk brings you to a safe sandy beach and a promenade that stretches from Torre del Mar to Torrox Costa.


Malaga is the nearest airport and it will take 35 minutes along the A-7 / E-15 / N340 to reach Caleta. Directions are a doddle. Car hire is strongly recommended and we can can supply details of an exceptionally good local company who will do free airport pick-up/drop-off if you hire a car for at least 7 days. Otherwise their normal taxi charges are very reasonable.


By car: village - 2 minutes, Torre del Mar - 5 minutes, Nerja and the famous Balcon Europa - 20 minutes, Lake Vinuela - 20 minutes, *Sevilla - 1 hour, Granada (including the *Alambra Palace) - 1 hour, *Fuente de Piedra (flamingo lagoon) - 1 hour 45 minutes - *Cordoba (Spanish Inquisitions - *save it for the cooler months) - 2 hours, Sierra Nevadas - 2 hours. Malaga - it is recommended you take the bus.

Further Details:

Should all this not be enough then locally there is fishing, go-karting, bowling, Aquavelis (water park) and the El Ingenio shopping mall. Caleta itself has everything you will need e.g. banks, chemist, tapas bars, great restaurants, butchers, bakers, internet cafes etc.

Booking Notes:
All bookings to be made by email. Owners Direct have introduced a new booking system which means they will handle all bookings and payments. All owners have to agree to it otherwise they will no longer be able to advertise on the OD web site. We are not on our own in being very much anti to this but have had to accept it,and if that is not enough, our guests will be charged booking costs and I will be charged a handling fee. A non refundable deposit of 20% is required at the time of booking. The balance will be due no later than 8 weeks prior to the commencement of your holiday. Also due with the final balance is a refundable deposit against loss of keys/breakages/damage. If all is okay after your return home we will refund this within 28 days. The refundable deposit amount has had to be increased from £100.00 to £350.00. Problems during 2015/16 increased but remain at an acceptable level. Unfortunately 2017 has been completely unacceptable for breakages, damage and theft. For example a) our personal beach towels have disappeared along with linen and b) the 6 new sun beds provided in January 2017 have all been wrecked and cannot be used again and have had to be replaced for the 3rd time. Hopefully you will understand. Please remember to take out adequate travel insurance.

Arrival time - after 4 pm.
Departure time - no later than 10 am
We do not stipulate a day for arrivals/departures as we appreciate cheaper air fares can be any day of the week.

2013 prices will hold until or after 2018.
