Cosy and comfortable in the heart of the countryside, but just 5 minutes drive to restaurants, bars, shops and Banks at St Meen Le Grand, which is twinned with Haltwhistle, UK. Plumaugat has a newly built Aquagym with sauna and steam rooms which is just 5 minutes drive away. Ideally located to explore Brittany and the character towns of Jugon les Lacs, Dinan, Dinard, Rennes, Cancale (where the oyster beds can be seen and oysters brought) and St Malo. The wonderful beaches of the North coast are just 40 minutes away and there are many superb Golf courses and fishing lakes in the area. The ferry port of St Malo is just 50 minutes, as are the airports of Dinard and Rennes. This well equipped and spacious gite offers a haven of tranquility to use as a base or to spend time relaxing, worlds away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

About Wendy Capp
We chose to move to France for a better, more relaxed way of life in 2004. The French community welcomed us and helped us to settle into our new home.

Perfect accommodation and location.
This lovely little gite was spotlessly clean, well appointed and had everything we needed. Wendy and Alan were super-helpful but not intrusive. There was lots to do in the surrounding area and Wendy was very knowledgable about towns and markets etc to visit.
The weather was not great but that can't be helped and it didn't stop us from exploring the local area and having a great holiday. The tame chaffinch was a great delight.
La Petite Maison Blanche
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Petite Maison Blanche. The gite was as described - ideal for two, well-equipped and maintained. The owners (Wendy and Alan) were very helpful, giving advice and recommendations and an insight into being an ex-pat in France! The coast is 50-60 minutes' drive, but well worth it. We particularly liked Cancale, especially as the tide was out and we could see the oyster beds. St Malo also was very interesting, but our view was shadowed by the only rain we saw in two weeks. St Cast Guildo is a very pretty typical French seaside resort. We hired a boat with an outboard motor in the Port at Dinan and chugged up and down the River Rance and this was great fun. As for food - we ate out every day and enjoyed some delicious meals! The best value we encountered was at L'Oree du Parc (on the right just before entering Becherel). The menu at 10.90 was amazing value - 4 courses with wine and coffee included - the food was excellent and the terrace very pleasant. In Dinan town we liked Le 1 de la place (Duclos) - opposite the Hotel de Ville. It is away from the 'touristy' old town, but the food and service were excellent and good value. In the Port of Dinan we liked L'Ami Louis which is up a side street. We found several really lovely towns in the area, which were ideal to sit with a drink and watch the world go by - what we enjoy doing most at our age!! We really enjoyed exploring this part of France - the scenery is beautiful and the people friendly. Our thanks to Wendy and Alan for their kindness.

Wendy and Alan were very helpful with local knowledge and info but not intrusive. The location is ideally placed for easy access to local towns and villages as well as superb beaches. Hope to return in the future to continue exploring this lovely area.
Thanks very much for your review. It was a pleasure to have you stay in our gite and we hope that we might see you again sometime in the future.
Our French Holiday
This Gite is not to be missed! It is spotlessly clean, comfortable and well thought out in a lovely location convenient for all the touristy places.
The British owners are a great couple who are very helpful without being intrusive.
We will definitely be back again and would recommend it to anyone
looking for a relaxing holiday in this part of France.
We were delighted with every aspect of our stay and Wendy and Alan proved to be the perfect hosts - knowledgeable about the local area and on hand to offer advice if we needed it. The gite was modern, clean and spacious with everything we could have wanted to make our stay comfortable, and the location was exactly what we were looking for - a quiet place to relax but close enough to the local towns for shopping and eating. We would highly recommend this as a holiday destination and plan to return again before too long.
