About Peggy A. Potter
Hi, we are a local area couple, self employed and traveling musicians with our band MONTANA SUN. By day, I am in sales & marketing and my husband is in the ski/bike business. We love the outdoors, traveling, eating out, campfires, music and spending time with friends & family. We have stayed at many guest houses over the years and believe we have the best there is to offer someone looking for a meaningful, authentic, Old West experience while still having access to current amenities and then some. If you want to take your family or friends on a memorable, relaxing western vacation, a horseback riding adventure or simply roasting marshmallows over a campfire after dinner, then here, at The Molesworth House, you'll make the fondest memories of all...simple but real.

Why Peggy A. Potter chose Cody
LOCATION-LOCATION-LOCATION Our home is in one word UNIQUE. A historic, vintage, period styled cabin, a cowboy gem, in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, downtown Cody Wyoming, a real authentic Western experience, and home to Buffalo Bill Cody and the Wild West. What our guests love about the neighborhood? The historic district is quiet, the guest house is fun and friendly with easy access to the bustling downtown area. We encourage you to walk or rent bikes to Buffalo Bill’s Historic Irma Hotel-Restaurant & Silver Saddle Saloon or The Buffalo Bill Historical Center. We have wonderful local bike paths and wilderness trails, a lively downtown offering Live Music, Art Shows, Gunfights, Coffee Shops, Breweries & Wine Bars. Yellowstone National Park is at our backdoor, only 45 minutes away. Access to Horseback Riding just outside of town, Nightly Rodeo (FREE Bus Ride to Rodeo Nightly), Cowboy Nightlife, Live Music Shows, Wild Mustang Watching, XC Skiing, Downhill Skiing, Snowmobiling, Ice Climbing, Ice Fishing, Zip Lining etc. Additional information A period style, vintage, western cowboy home located in the historic district in Cody, Wyoming. Built and decorated in the period of the western 1930-40’s but with modern amenities; there is a washer and dryer for guest use ...it is a vintage house so please do not over pack there is not a lot of extra room or storage. Walking distance to all attractions and restaurants.
What makes this House unique
I fell in love with this home because of the historic significance and the Thomas Molesworth connection. It was in desperate need of love, attention and a lot of sweat equity. It looked to have been ignored for many years. So, 19 years later, we have brought her back to her glory as well as embellished on her amenities. We wanted to share the experience with our guests and neighbors so, we opened our doors to the public in 2014 for both events, weddings, weekly and nightly rentals.

The house is in a great location downtown which is close to many restaurants and shopping. The house has everything you will need so you can show up and relax. This is an older house with losts of history and is decorated with many antique items.
Hunting Trip to Cody
Very nice experience with Peg the owner. 5 bedrooms, 3 baths a little misleading or maybe I didn’t read the fine print. We only had access to two bathrooms and on of those was accessible only thru a bedroom. 5th bedroom was actually a foldout bed in one of the living rooms. Just a little tight for 6 adult males. Other than that it was a nice home in a great location.
Thanks for the stay and the review. Yes, our listing is based on "double occupancy" and does state the 3rd bathroom is OPTIONAL/ADDITIONAL, you just have to asked for it to be added to your reservation. If you decide to return next hunting season, we'll give access to the 3rd optional bathroom, no charge. Have a good winter.

The Molesworth House c. 1937
What a cool old house! Even apart from the Molesworth-era Cody-style connection, the current owner has done wonders to make the vintage systems workable. My favorite room may have been the kitchen, not a big room by modern standards, but every square inch was either decorative or useful, or both. Plus everything is so thoughtfully equipped, all manner of utensils and materials provided......I was stumped for a moment by the coffee-maker, then realized that laminated and very-clear instructions were right next to it. Awesome. If you want a bigger kitchen, there's one of those, too....outside (covered, with additional dining area) by the porch (also covered, with chairs, a swing, and a bed!) Plus the location is great, you can walk to Granny's for breakfast (highly recommended) or the Coffee Station for coffee, crepes, and sandwiches. If you are a fan of Western design, you will find a lot to love in this place.
If, however, you happen to be a light sleeper, you may not want to choose the bedroom in the basement, especially if others in your group are early-rising go-getters. Not the house's fault, but those glorious creaking wood floors speak for themselves. Also, travel light: don't be like me! I had six extra books, in case I'd find time to read them (I didn't) and four extra pair of shoes, in case I wanted to wear them (I didn't.) The Molesworth House is packed with cool memorabilia and truly fun arrangements, but storage space is somewhat limited. Persons with much baggage, metaphorical or otherwise, may wish they'd left some of it at home.
Overall, our family and friends enjoyed our time here. The yard-space was a favorite gathering-place in the evenings - Pizza on the Run is a quick walk away!
We had an awesome experience with this property! Owner was very accommodating. The property was beautiful and we can’t wait to visit again. They outdoor area was our favorite, kids were able to run around and play.
Thanks so much! We appreciate the kind words of review and I'll pass them on to the crew. Please come again.
Amazing, unique property!
Loved this unique, eclectic place. We stayed with 4 adults and 3 kids, plenty of amenities, plenty of room. We loved the HUGE bunnies that would come and visit the property! My kids enjoyed the cowboy tub outside. FYI, the washer and dryer are hidden behind a panel in the basement bedroom on the far wall. Agree with another reviewer that it is quite noisy in the basement bedroom when people walk upstairs so bring earplugs if you plan on sleeping down there, which is what we did and were fine. There were games and some toys for kids, which we really appreciated. I would definitely book this house again!
We are glad you enjoyed your stay, thank you for the review!
