RiverSong is a truly special location and I am so blessed to be able to share it with others
Here I am in blue with my new friend, Lorraine, a recent visitor from Victoria B.C.
The Owner purchased this house in 2000
My first visit to Kauai was in 1980 and it was indeed 'love at first sight'. Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay area, I had lived in CA all my life. While visiting Kauai in December 1999 anticipating the change into the year 2000, I was introduced to RiverSong and my life was forever changed ....See for yourself how very special it is at RiverSong
RiverSong has the ability to adapt to each guests personal wants and wishes. If you want a quiet, all by yourself vacation experience, that is indeed possible. If however you want to learn more about the island, it's hidden beauty and interact with our family, that too is possible. The choice is yours.
We want to help make this a truly memorable vacation experience for each of you.
We have received a Home Stay/B&B permit from the County of Kauai and look forward to continuing to give our guests the best possible Kauai experience
Nikki was an incredible hostess. She made us fantastic breakfasts of wonderful pastries, exotic fruits, and frittatas. She was around when we needed her for information and fun. Otherwise she was quiet and respectful. The sound of the river was mesmerizing. We had a wonderful stay, so wonderful that we are now moving to Kauai.
My husband and I stayed at Riversong for 3 nights. The room is very comfortable with a private balcony and bathroom. It was a short drive to Hanalei where we spent most of our time. It was also a less than 5 minute drive to the bakery and bistro restaurant which had delicious food. Nicki was a very friendly and hospitable host. The one thing I can say is that the wifi was a little spotty.
Amazing! Riversong is a wonderful retreat nestled on a river with beautiful jungle like views from your private lanai. After busy days hiking, sightseeIng and trying to see all the wonderful things Kauai has to offer, it is a comfortable home away from home. Nicki is very knowledgeable about the area and made time to share her love of the island with me. She truly made me feel welcome and was there for my many questions. The breakfast was over the top. Fresh fruit, scones, yogurt, juice... , so much I stored the extra in the small refrigerator in the room for snacks.
The room was well appointed with a sitting area and lanai. TV, books, movies, magazines to wind down in the evening. Nicki is an excellent host and I look forward to a return visit in the near future.
This B&B was especially nice to visit and stay for my time visiting. RiverSong is located next to a river, i found this especially wonderful after a long day of exploring the North
Shore and beyond. The Lighthouse (2 miles from the B&B) the town of Kilauea, ( bakery and shops and yoga studio) Hanalei, Princeville, beaches, all were part of my visit.
The room was beautiful; comfortable bed, lots of pillows, and the reading area was equipped with a couch and lounging chairs. My favorite was the lanai where i enjoyed my morning coffee. Nicki provided lovely fruits from local markets, and coffee and eggs/toast or muffins. This arrangement was perfect before the day began. (make sure to enjoy the local hawaiian
I have an interest in birding, natural beauty of the sea and mountains, and i found Nicki
to be more than accommodating with her extensive knowledge of the island. She mentioned
the Albatross on the island and the Lighthouse where i may find some in flight. Nicki was
a real gem, and made my stay more than i had envisioned. Mahalo, Nicki.
When we arrived on Kauai for our dream trip, we stayed at an absolutely wonderful bed & breakfast on the east shore for the first couple of days. We were welcomed with warm, gracious hospitality and were served excellent, delicious breakfasts. The property was beautifully and lovingly maintained by the owners, who were available to answer our questions and make recommendations. Our bed was heavenly and so comfortable with high-quality linens and down pillows. We then traveled up to the north shore to stay at Riversong bed & breakfast for the next few days of our trip. Nicki greeted us and showed us to our lovely room stating that breakfast would be left on a tray outside our room the next morning. Breakfast consisted of hard boiled eggs, delicious bread, fruit and juice -- all served on a beautiful tray with nice linens. We made our own coffee from the little four-cup coffee maker in our room. There was no cream provided at any time. We didn't see Nicki again for three days, and had no way to reach her except by sending an e-mail or leaving notes for her. She never checked in with us. We left notes on our breakfast tray stating that the pillows were old, uncomfortable and lumpy. Better pillows were provided for the remainder of our stay, but they weren't great either. We also asked about snorkeling equipment and beach chairs but she never responded. Breakfast was left outside our door every morning as promised, but two of five breakfasts consisted of nothing more than cereal, fruit, juice and stale pastries. We left another note asking about the possibility of doing a load of laundry, and when we did see her again, she kindly offered to do the laundry for us, which she did. To be fair, we weren't there during the day. Nicki did not disclose in her listing that she has a little dog. The thing yapped, yapped and yapped some more, much to our annoyance. If we kept the bathroom door closed, the sound of the river drowned out the incessant barking. Much to our great disappointment, Nicki offered very little hospitality. Our reservation was made based on the reviews that we read and unfortunately our experience was much different. Although our room was very nice, the experience as a whole was disappointing at best.
My wife and I spent 4 lovely nights in Nicki's beautiful home. We were very comfortable and found the room to be very private with its own lanai and separate access. Riversong is a great name for this B&B as the waterfall provided an ambience to our stay. Nicki provided great breakfasts that were the perfect way to start our day and she also provided information about Kauai and the birds in the area. Thanks for your hospitality Nicki. For anyone looking for a great B&B experience we recommend staying at Riversong.
