Keepers Cottage is situated along a secret country lane in rural Northumberland. The area is perfect for exploring the amazing scenery of Hadrian's Wall. The rolling hillsides and the wide open skys are popular with walkers and country lovers. The cottage has a warm welcome away from the hustle of everyday life. Return home to the crackle of the real fire in the woodburning stove, and the sumptuous luxury of the "super king" size 4 poster bed.

Peace and quiet with a bit of luxury for good measure
Keepers Cottage is in a very peaceful rural location and we had a wonderful time.
The cottage was cosy and warm thanks to the underfloor heating and the log burner. The kitchen is really well kitted out, the 4 poster bed is enormous and really comfortable and the shower in the upstairs bathroom had great pressure and plenty of hot water. We appreciated all the little touches like fresh flowers, toiletries and a homemade welcome cake which was delicious. It is truly a luxurious hideaway. Access to the woodland was great for our dog and we all enjoyed the peacocks, ducks, chickens and deer. Hadrian’s wall is just a short drive away with plenty of good walking. Remember to bring coins for parking at the Steel Rigg car park if you plan to walk to Sycamore gap. Twice brewed is close by and the food is great, especially the Sunday roasts but take coins for parking which will be reimbursed at the bar. Jane and David are great hosts and we can't thank them enough.
Many thanks Margaret for your review. We are glad to hear you have had a good holiday away from the fireworks!
An amazing cottage in the middle of nowhere.
This cottage is absolutely lovely,it's spotless has everything you need, fantastic bedrooms both en suite. We got a very warm welcome from David and Jane. There are woods close to the property great for walking the dogs. One of our favourite things was feeding peanuts to the peacocks and peahens, they came quite close to us and one or two of them would take peanuts out of our hands. It is as I said in the middle of nowhere, so very peaceful, but it isn't too far from the A69 and you can get to places quite easily. I would highly recommend this cottage.
Many thanks for your kind review Joanne. Good to hear that you and the dogs enjoyed yourselves. The peacocks will be waiting for your return soon!
Very comfortable, welcoming hosts.
A lovely part of the world for a nice holiday in a comfortable cottage.
Our boys loved feeding the peacocks in the back garden.
Many thanks for your review. You are welcome back any time.
Lovely out of the way place with fab views, plenty of wildlife and gorgeous cottage.
Would recommend to anyone who wants a quiet place but still very well placed to get to anywhere in the north
Many thanks for your kind review. You are welcome back any time. Hope to see you soon. Regards David.
A place for a quiet holiday
The cottage was well stocked with amenities (such as firewood) for our stay and is in a delightful rural ( if not geographically challenging) location. It is idyllic surrounded by peacocks/hens, sheep and deer. David was welcoming and able to help us with questions about what is where etc. With long and varied experience of staying in UK cottages, we would suggest that the property is thoroughly warmed through prior to the arrival of guests - it took a sizeable time for this to happen. But much appreciated when it did happen. Also an idea to have a 'comprehensive' folder of information so that questions do not need to be asked on a regular basis. We would recommend the cottage for those wanting to be away from urban life -seeking some quiet times.
Keepers Cottage is less than 2 miles from the best preserved sections of Hadrian's Wall. The roman fort and museum at Housteads is 4 miles, and the roman fort and museum at Vindolanda is just 3 miles.
