Casablanca is a beautiful modern villa with its own private pool, located in the Western Algarve, unspoilt by tourist development, laid back where the Portuguese come south for their holidays. It is exceptionally spacious. You will find yourself in a very relaxing area that is not built up, has some dramatic coastline, amazing beaches and many relaxed local restaurants. Figueira retains its authentic atmosphere and has three restaurants, local bars and a village shop. Here you can sample the real Portugal but enjoy all the comfort of a spacious luxury villa with all amenities close by. There is under-floor heating available on request, and a log burner making the villa a wonderful place off season.

About Calie Shearer
We first visited Figueira on a family holiday in 2006. We fell in love with the village and its unspoilt beauty and were delighted to find our 'dream house' for sale. We love it when other people are able to discover this wonderful place and enjoy it as we do.
Calie Shearer purchased this Villa in 2006

A beautiful villa in a beautiful village
We had an amazing stay at casablanca. The villa was very clean and spacious and the pool was the perfect size and depth for our family of four. The village of Figuera is very friendly and safe, we really saw the authentic side of Portugal here and within a 5 minute drive to a few beaches. The owner and the property manager were very helpful and friendly. We will definitely be coming back to casablanca next year.
A little piece of heaven
The moment I walked through the gates of Casablanca I was completely blown away. The sun was shining, the sky postcard blue, the pool and garden just looked amazing. The villa itself was very clean & comfortable with all mod cons. Eating a leisurely breakfast in the conservatory with the sun shining in was a treat. The villa has a charm all of its own and although situated in an unspoilt village with beautiful views, is close to shops and beaches. We decided to take the bus to Lagosh which was a great experience travelling with the locals and meandering through villages. Last and not least the wonderful cafe restaurant just a stone's throw from the villa serving the most delicious meals. I would have loved to have stayed longer and returned home absolutely chilled. Will definitely be back again next year.
We love this Villa! It's the 3rd time we've returned and we're already booked for our 4th time for April 2015. We've thoroughly enjoyed all our stays at Casablanca. The villa is spacious, very well kept, in a great location for us and good value for money compared to some places we have stayed. We also recommended it to friends of ours - and they've been back twice already as well. Our only reluctance in writing a good review is that we DON'T want Casablanca to get TOO popular!
Thank you very much for your kind review. I hope you will have many more happy holidays at Casablanca.
This was our second stay at Casablanca this year and can only say what a beautiful place it is. The villa is spacious, comfortable, clean and very well equipped, providing everything needed for a relaxing holiday. Its location in the village of Figuera is ideal if you wish to explore the Western Algarve. The villa is exactly as described in Owners Direct and is even more spacious and welcoming in reality.
The property is very clean and well maintained. Steph and Gary provide a very good service and respond quickly to any requests. The linen, towels etc are clean and plentiful and are replaced regularly. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to others, In fact we have already done so for next year. In the area there are many restaurants to recommend. Just across the road from the villa is O'Sapinho that has a varied menu to suit all tastes. 5 minutes away in Salema is a very good beach bar called Mira Mar that is also highly recommended. There are also several beautiful beaches within easy reach by car. All in all this villa is excellent value for money and provides everything for a relaxing holiday in a beautiful part of the Algarve.
The best of both worlds
We enjoyed a fabulous week in your lovely spacious villa. We found it to be very well equipped, comfortable and absolutely spotless. We really enjoyed the combination of the life of the village and the beach so close by. We particularly enjoyed the walk through the countryside (only about 15 minutes) to the local beach which was quiet and unspoilt) but felt we had the best of both worlds with the more lively choices of beach and restaurants at Salema.
The restaurant just across the road with Rui the friendly owner was a real bonus for days when we didn't want to go out and about too much. We also discovered the fish and vegetable market at Vila da Bispo and bought some wonderful things to cook on the barbecue.
We ran out of time before we had a chance to explore the many places of interest nearby but did make it to Sagres and to Lagos, both recommended for shopping, sightseeing and boat trips.
Best of all we enjoyed being in the villa, sitting by the pool relaxing in the sunshine. We swam every day and the end of the week came far too quickly. We'll definitely be back next year.
casa blanca figiera salema algarve
My husband, son and daughter spent an idylic week here last year. we would have returned this year, but husband fell and smashed his shoulder!! Next year is a must. Its a gloriously spacious, bright and light villa. Spotlessly clean with a delightful pool and nicely contained garden. We love the sleepy authentic village life and sleepy atmosphere. We would come every year if we could!! Thers so many places of internest close by apart from all the fabulous beaches. Get a map and get out and about is my advice, although it will be a sruggle to leave the villa!!! You really need a car to get the most from a stay here. The weather is the icing on the cake ofcourse and views from the upper floor of the villa are lovely. Pat Mross
Special interest holidays:
As well as golf at the San Antonio, there are tennis courts, a spa, gym and outside pools. There is also horse riding available locally. From Salema, you can take a variety of boat trips including dolphin watching. There are boats and sunbeds to hire. There are also ample opportunities to surf and body board on the fabulous beaches of the west coast.
The vila is on the edge of a conservation area of exceptional natural beauty which is very popular with bird watchers and walkers.
Our local agents can provide horse riding, guided walks and photography among other activities.
The totally unspoilt Figueira beach is approximately 15 mins walk through beautiful countryside. Salema, a fishing village which retains much of its traditional atmosphere, has a wonderful beach and many small cafes and excellent restaurants is 5 minutes drive away. There are many other lovely beaches such as Martinhal, Ingrina and Zavial in close proximity.
Faro airport is a straightforward drive of approx. one hour away.
Salema is less than 5 mins by car and Burgau just a little further. The historic coastal fortress town of Lagos with its many shops and entertainment is approx. 20 mins away. From the marina in Lagos there are fishing trips, dolphin watching and scuba diving. The historic town of Sagres is also close, and the natural spa town of Monchique is approx one hour away. Cape st. Vincente, the most westerly point of Europe, believed to be the end of the world by the ancient Portuguese is also near.
Immediately opposite the villa is the wonderful 'O Sophino' restaurant where fresh fish and other local delights await you in the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. There are two other restaurants in the village, and a few small bars. As well as the tiny but amazingly well stocked village shop, the Intermarche Supermarket is less than 5 minutes drive away where you can buy all the provisions needed for your stay. There is a local farmers and fish market in Vila do Bispo (approx 10 mins drive), and for the more adventurous, an amazing fish market is held daily in Lagos. A car is recommended, although it would be possible to stay here without one. Local buses are good with a bus stop and timetable minutes away from the villa.
