Farmhouse/Villa in Cortona, Arezzo, Tuscany, Italy - Peaceful Rural Location Close To Amenities. Fantastic Access For Touring, Cycling, Walks & Shopping.
About Paul Clarke
We have been to the beautiful area of Cortona many times during the past 20 years for family holidays and adore everything about it. It's a fantastic Italian experience: friendly people and wonderful food, wine, coffee and ice-cream set amongst numerous amazing medieval villages and towns. We have tried to create a little bit of luxury in a lovely rural setting and have painstakingly renovated our house to maintain it's character and provide modern convenience. The peaceful location offers lots of variety with great access for day trips. Relax by the pool or go for walks/cycling from right outside the house. Eat in/dine out - you're spoilt for choice. We hope that you will be tempted to visit and make our home your home and so begin your love affair with Cortona

Beautifully presented Tuscan house
Our family of four stayed in this beautifully presented Tuscan House for the last two weeks in August 2018 and it met our expectations in every way.
Right from the point of booking Paul and Heather’s communication with us was excellent, timely and helpful. Prior to arriving, they sent us a fantastic guide book which they have put together. It covered everything from detailed instructions with photos for getting to the house, places to eat and shop, suggestions of where to visit, to the parking rules in Italy! We referred to it constantly during our stay and followed many of the recommendations.
The house itself is in a beautiful setting with stunning views of the ancient town of Cortona nestled into the hillside above, sunflower fields and vineyards. Everything you could need in the house and garden was provided and was very clean and in good order, as was the décor. The local support team were excellent – any questions we emailed were answered quickly and fully, the pool was cleaned twice a week and the house weekly.
We enjoyed breakfast in the shade on the upstairs terrace and spent lots of time relaxing around the pool, whilst the children were in it constantly. They could make as much noise as they liked as there is no-one around to hear them! In the evenings, we barbecued and ate under the loggia, then sat on the sofas watching the stars with a real fire going and a glass of Tuscan wine, magical.
The location of the house is also ideal, as its only 5 minutes from the excellent town of Camucia, which has a big Co-op supermarket as well as lots of local shops, a couple of good places to eat and a mainline rail station with direct links to Florence (which we visited) and Rome. There are also many other fabulous places to visit within the area, from Lake Trasimeno (swimming was great), Sienna, Arezzo, Montepulciano etc.
In summary a memorable holiday in a beautiful house/setting which we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
Very lovely farmhouse - can`t find a better one
This accomodation in the Tuscan area is the best you can find. The equipment is very good - inside the house and outside in the garden and pool area, too. The location is perfect for a mix of relaxing and to do some day trips (e.g. Florence) or to explore the region. The contact to the owners is wonderful and in case of booking you will get a great guide for your trip with very helpful information about the house, the region, dining, things to do and so on... Perfect!
A fabulous home in a perfect setting!
As a family of four we had a wonderful stay here and can honestly say we would recommend this home to anyone. We loved the position - so close to Cortona (a delightful place to visit in the daytime and evening), closer still to all the local amenities you could possibly need and also a great spot for visiting historic places of interest such as Siena (definitely worth a visit). However we also loved the fact it was so private - surrounded by vineyards and cycle routes which we made good use of. Of course we have to mention the pool which we all enjoyed thoroughly and made good use of every day and the outside seating area which has been so well designed. In short, if we could own a place in Italy this would be our ideal place. Thank you for a fantastic stay! It goes without saying we would love to return!
This property exceeded every expectation we had .
From the moment we arrived at this magnificent property,we were simply captivated by its charm.
The description of the property and its surroundings, on the HomeAway site could not really convey the magic that this Tuscan paradise has to offer.
The moment you turn off the side road, and wend your way along the path to this beautiful property, your level of expectation rises, and is truly rewarded when you arrive at the impressive gates that beckon you in.
Every detail you read on the HW site is accurate, and in many cases does not convey the level of quality and love that has gone into making this lovely home so amazing.
This was our first visit to Tuscany, and as reasonably seasoned travellers, we have seldom been so impressed by a property and its surroundings.
The vistas from any window within the house are simply wonderful.
The sense of privacy you get is fantastic, and yet there are so many excellent places to visit within the area. e.g Cortona, Camucia to name a few.
The respect for the history, and the character of this house is a credit to the owners, and every detail of this restoration has been tastefully considered. You will not be disappointed.
The customer service, was to the same high level as the Farmhouse, and it was easy to see that the owners take great pride in catering for the clients potential needs. This property did not reflect the usual IKEA statement pieces.
There are so many things to do in this area. We would recommend that you are guided by the comprehensive visitors guide expertly prepared by the owners.
We had been lucky with the weather, and were also able to enjoy the lovely garden. I have no doubt the pool would be fantastic in the summer time.
If your thinking the photographs and the facilities this wonderful property has to offer may be for you, then do not hesitate to make that decision. GO.
This is an opportunity to reconnect with nature, and enjoy the pleasures that Tuscany has to offer,in the most sumptuous of houses.
SUPERB . :-)
This property exceeded every expectation we had .
What a fantastic stay we had at Paul and Heather's beautiful Farmhouse.
This property not only lived up to our expectations, but surpassed them in so many ways.
The thought, and imagination that has gone into this restoration is a credit to all involved, and we have seldom experienced such genuine concern from an owner to ensure their clients have the best holiday experience they can have.
The Farmhouse is a superb example of country living at its finest, and the moment you realise that this property looks even better in reality than in the pictures, your sense of anticipation is enormous.
We drove down from Pisa, and with Paul and Heather@s directions, located the property easily.
It is difficult to capture in words the sense of tranquillity, and the sheer joy this environment radiates. This is just a wonderful location for a family holiday.
The house as I said, has been lovingly restored, and no expense has been spared to present this home to an exceptionally high standard.
The grounds are well kept, and I have no doubt the swimming pool would be a fantastic facility in the heat of summer.
The surrounding area is a collection of picture book towns, which simply ooze character and charm. The fact that Cortona and Camucia are so close,is an added incentive for making the choice to come here.
In conclusion,I have nothing but positives to say about the house and its wonderful caring owners Paul and Heather.
If you are considering coming to this region, then do yourself a favour and stay at this 5 star gem. MAGNIFICO :-)
What a perfect place!
We've just had the most AMAZING holiday in Tuscany! Casale Sant'Agata was everything we expected and more - the pictures don't do it justice! We fell in love with this beautiful farmhouse.....big, spacious, clean, tastefully furnished, modern bathrooms and kitchen, comfy beds, lovely pool, great BBQ area and absolutely superb location with stunning views! In a word - perfect.
We loved Cortona - there's something quite special and magical about it. We did loads of trips including Florence, Lake Tressimo, Urbino etc.
If you're considering driving, do it! It's an absolute doddle. The French motorways are a pleasure to drive on. Register online for the in car bleepers for both motorways (France & Italy) and you'll breeze through the toll gates! We would recommend an overnight stay in Lucerne in Switzerland on the way down and on the return journey, head back through the Mont Blanc tunnel and overnight it in Geneva, Dijon or Reims. One word of caution, driving in Italy is a real education - just have your wits about you!
To summarise, this villa and its location is amazing. If you've always promised yourself a holiday in Tuscany, please look this place up. Paul and Heather have gone above and beyond to think of everything...and I mean everything. The welcome manual covers the lot!
A very happy and memorable holiday for us all.
