Very convenient flat
This is a second floor flat most conveniently located in Alnwick, only a few minutes' walk from the main streets, bus station, shops, etc. Parking in is the street, with no restrictions. It is in a quiet area, but buses pass the property, and some people might find the church clock intrusive. We did not. It is in good decorative condition on the whole. although the kitchen and bathroom are rather "tired" and very dimly lit - there are issues with the taps in the bathroom, for example, which are not secure. (Other guests have commented on this). There are two bedrooms and plenty of room. The lounge is very comfortable. There is a selection of books, DVDs and games. There is wi-fi. We could have done with more bowls and stuff to use in the microwave, but managed. The flat is airy and cheerful in those rooms which look onto the street. I notice there is single glazing, and indeed this conversion may be a historic building which demands this. However, our stay was in the summer, so warmth was not an issue!
Lovely apartment- bigger than expected!
The apartment was perfect for our stay in Alnwick. Very close to downtown, grocery stores, the castle and gardens. We cooked a lot and the kitchen was well-equipped and the oven worked great. I highly recommend this apartment!
Basic but adequate
Ideally located for attractions, could do with one or two more utensils, especially a working oven for people wanting to eat in.

Great base for Alnwick and Northumberland
An ideal apartment for getting into Alnwick and wider Northumberland. Rooms plenty spacious and well equipped. No noise experienced from neighbouring apartments. Good value.
Great flat in a great location!
Fantastic location and nice size flat.
Could of been a bit cleaner especially in the oven and some of the the pans and crockery. Also missing a few everyday things like vegetable peeler and soup ladle. Other than that a nice property in an excellent location.
We are surprised you found problems with cleanliness as our cleaner does an excellent job! There are a number of vegetable peelers but we did not consider a soup ladle to be essential. Many of our guests comment on the range of utensils so i'm sorry you were disappointed with this. Thank you for your otherwise positive comments and taking the time to write a review.

A cosy home from home.
Apartment was perfect. Cosy, quiet and supplied with all necessary amenities. Ideal location for Alnwick castle, which is a great day out, and lots of other interesting places. Newcastle, Berwick, Holy Island and Bamburgh castle are all within easy reach, as are a host of quiet and beautiful beaches on the Northumberland coast. A boat trip to the Farne islands from Seahouses was a particular highlight of our trip.
The Heritage Coast with miles of superb and unspoilt sandy beaches is within a distance of just four miles. The area has some of the best beaches in the UK and include Embleton, Bamburgh and nearest of all Alnmouth. Always quiet and sometimes deserted this area of coast offers the perfect environment to get away from it all.
Alnwick is the local centre for much of rural North Northumberland. Newcastle is 30 miles to the South and it's airport is around 25 miles from the property. The A1 passes Alnwick and is located less than two miles (4 mins) by car from the apartment.
The east coast mainline stops at Alnmouth station (4 miles away) with express services to Newcastle and beyond to the South and Edinburgh to the North. Excellent local bus services.

Northumberland offers a variety of holiday experiences for all. From the beautiful coast to the wilds of the National Park there is no shortage of spectacular unspoilt scenery.
Alnwick has great places to eat and is home to superb gardens and castle the latter featuring in the early Harry Potter films. It also has museums, its own theatre, leisure centre as well as one of the largest second hand bookshops -the legendary Barter Books. All a short walk from the accommodation. Good range of independent shops as well as larger supermarkets. Weekly market as well as a farmer's market.
There are many children's activities in the area and the cultural centres of both Newcastle and Edinburgh are within easy reach by road or rail.
Other than miles of golden sanded beaches the coast offers trips to the Farne Islands for wildlife enthusiasts, several castles including the iconic Bamburgh and small fishing villages such as Craster. All less than thirty minutes away.
Also on your doorstep is the Northumbria National Park including Kielder forest.
There are a number of National Trust properties and gardens in the locality including the remarkable Cragside just twenty minutes scenic drive.
The apartment offers an excellent quality base for an affordable and relaxing holiday.

Booking Notes: Booking via telephone or email with the owner David. We normally ask for a twenty five percent deposit before the full balance two weeks prior to the holiday start date. Late bookings are fine but the full amount would be payable. Normally keys are posted to you at your home address. Short breaks are also available. Changeover Day: Saturday is normally changeover day. Arrival after 14.30 departure by 10.30. Alternative arrangements subject to availability. Notes on prices: We offer great value for money. The rental for this property was much higher when advertised via a holiday agent and the reduction in price has been passed on in full to the customer.
