Our detached bungalow is very welcoming and comfortable. It sleeps 6, in 3 bedrooms, 2 doubles and a twin, double glazed with OFCH. The large airy dining kitchen and sun room opens out onto an enclosed private garden with sun trap patio. There is a bathroom with shower, toilet and basin, and an additional toilet and basin. The sitting room has a cosy wood burning stove with a view of the mountains and Slieve Donard. Both rooms have TV/DVD and high speed Wifi is available throughout the house. There is a garage, containing washing machine, for easy storage of bikes golf clubs etc. and off road parking. A large porch/boot room provides additional storage for boots, coats and pushchairs! This bright clean property is located on a quiet road less that 5 minutes walk from the town's main street and promenade and the many cafes and bars. Royal County Down Golf Course is only a 5 minute stroll. Newcastle is an ideal location for walkers, cyclists, golfers and outdoor enthusiasts. Tollymore and Castlewellan forest parks are close by as well as Tollymore Mountain Centre with an indoor climbing wall There are two MTB courses close by in Castlewellan and Rostrevor forest parks. 1 hour to Belfast and 2 to Dublin.

We have 3 children and love the area because of the easy access to the mountains and beach for running, walking and just chilling out with the kids. We often use the property, and rarely have to use the car, as even walking up Donard is easily done from the house. The other advantage is that in the evening the house is only a short walk back from the many lovely restaurants and bars in the town. The house is also a short walk from the superb links golf course 'Royal County Down'.
What makes this Bungalow unique
Everyone who stays here comments on how comfortable and relaxing it is. The house has good outdoor space in the private sunny garden, and cosy in the winter with the wood burning stove. It is truly a home from home with a well equipped kitchen, books, guides and games.

Great house in perfect location
Thank you David and Helen, just spent 3 days in your lovely warm cosy house with everything we could want. Great location for walking the Mournes, also only a 5 minute walk to Newcastle town centre, beach, bars and restaurants.
Thank you both for the welcome (including bottle of wine), it was a totally hassle free let.

Ideal family accommodation
The house was ideal for our purposes. It was within walking distance of the main street which has plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants. We would book this house again.
We stayed here for the weekend for a family party and we were impressed with the amount of space there was, it's a very lovely house and would definitely recommend this place only down fall for us was there was only one shower which was very hard when all trying to get ready but would definitely book again over all this place is perfect

Property in Newcastle town. 4 miles to Dundrum town and Norman Castle and the Murlough National Trust Nature reserve. Approx 15 miles from Downpatrick and Saul, St Patrick's grave and monument. Only a further 5 miles to beautiful Strangford village, Strangford Lough, Castle Espie and the beautiful National Trust property, Castle Ward. Strangford Lough and Dundrum bay are particularly popular with birdwatchers as many species of birds over winter here.

Towels and linen provided. Free BT infinity wifi and TV. Changeover Day: Usually Saturday but can be changed if requested. Normally Saturday but flexible. Notes on prices: A 30% deposit is required to confirm the booking. The remaining balance must be paid 8 weeks before rental commences, with an additional refundable £200 damage deposit. This will be returned within 14 days of departure. Pay by cheque or paypal. CANCELLATION POLICY: Deposit and balance will be re-paid in full if the house can be re-booked.
