Situated just at the edge of the central business district, across from the park, grocery store, library, and within a couple blocks of several delightful eateries, our beloved "Main Street Gem" brings you into the community like no other. The colorful interior still has the original woodwork, but also offers a modern, well-equipped kitchen, 2 bedrooms and 1 1/2 baths. Off-street parking, Wi-fi, DVD collection, and outdoor chimenea all lend themselves to an inviting place to hang your hat for a few days or more.

We both grew up in the Yellowstone region, spent many years living elsewhere, and then moved back. We live in a neighboring house.
Adams purchased this House in 2002
Why Adams chose Red Lodge
We love the historic Victorians, and this house is one of 4 'sisters' in a row fronting Broadway, built between 1907 and 1914.

It is a real Gem
We loved our stay here. It is so comfortable and homey. It is so convenient to just walk downtown and enjoy Red Lodge. They pay attention to very nice little details to make the stay very nice. We would definitely stay here again.
Instantly Felt Like Home
I can't recall ever feeling so much at home upon walking into a rental as I did with this Main Street Gem. The house has historic charm, beautiful interior architectural details, and is exceptionally clean and bright. Margie and Joel have put so much thought into their choices of warm, inviting hues on the walls and decorative details that compliment and pull those colors from room to room. It is really just such a comfortable and pleasant space to be in. And, the yard is wonderful as well... with a picnic table, Adirondack chairs, lots of lawn space for my dog to run around, and even a chiminea fireplace with wood provided!
I stayed at the Gem while doing some road tripping around Montana with my 80 year old parents who were up visiting from AZ, and they loved it as much as I did. It was the perfect base for us to explore Red Lodge and the Beartooths, and Margie and Joel were super nice to talk with and very responsive regarding check-in, etc. I would highly recommend this house to anyone visiting Red Lodge. I definitely hope to stay there again one day!
House was clean and great areas to gather.
We absolutely loved this home and its location. We would stay here again on our next visit to Red Lodge.
This house was just as it was represented. It was perfect for our stay in Red Lodge during the motorcycle rally. Located one block from the grocery store right on main street it was the perfect location. The house was charming, clean and everything we needed. Would recommend this house to anyone.
main streer gem
We had the great opportunity of having a month long stay in this beautiful Victorian house. The charm and comfort were at it's best. The location is perfect for enjoying Red Lodge main street without having to drive. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting a mountain getaway our a small town retreat!
It was perfect....just perfect
We had the pleasure of staying at "Colorful Main Street Gem" while visiting Red Lodge during Christmas break. We knew it was going to be nice....but little did we realize just how nice. The property has a charm that just made us immediately feel at home. The wooden floors, the old antique decorated trim, and even the vintage radiators immediately radiated its charm.
Our family of four was visiting Red Lodge to see relatives (and enjoy winter activities). It was the perfect place as a gathering place and the long hewn dining table accommodated everyone comfortably. The sitting room. with big comfortable furniture, made for a great place to socialize and, for us, break out some guitars and play music. Perfect!
Beyond the home itself, the location could not have been better. We could walk to the down town shops (my wife and daughter were especially pleased about that) and the Yellowstone Nature Center with examples of many of Montana's wildlife is just a few minutes walk away....not that you would need to walk for the wildlife. More than once we would find deer bedded down in the yard beside the house.
We enjoyed our stay in Red Lodge since there was so much to do. Whether it was skiing at the mountain (or local nordic center), hiking, wild life watching, or drinking beer at the local tap room just down the road, Red Lodge had tons for our family to enjoy.
To top it off, the owners of Colorful Main Street Gem, live on the adjacent lot. They were always available to help or to advise on local restaurants, sites to see, or things to do. They made sure that our stay was exceptional and that all was in order. Don't tell him that I said this, but Joel plays a pretty mean mandolin. Bug him enough --maybe he'll give you a personal concert.
Bottom line, I would recommend this property to anyone that wants the type of place where you immediately feel comfortable and at home. Next time we're in Red Lodge we'll be staying there that's for sure.
Red Lodge provides a hospitable, historic small town experience at the Northeast entrance to Yellowstone Park via the magnificent Beartooth Pass. With all the funnest amenities, such as the most restaruants per capita in Montana, as well as access to a multitude of summer and winter outdoor activities, you can't go wrong making Red Lodge your weekend or longer vacation destination.
