All-modern amenities housed in a beautifully renovated 1898 Princess Anne house with 12-foot ceilings throughout. It has the space and ambience of an older era, and the functionality of today; filled with super-comfortable furniture and lots of art. The wrap-around porch with wicker furniture and an old-fashioned glider lead into the large entry foyer. To the left, the living room has comfortable chairs, sofa, bookcases, and armoire with TV and stereo. Continuing to the rear of the house through large pocket doors, the second parlor has comfortable chairs and sofa, desk, and dresser filled with puzzles. It has a full bath attached. Next door, a large dining room is furnished with dining table (expandable with leaves to twelve people), two sideboards, and a china cabinet; extra dishes and tableware are stored here. The gracious chandelier is on a dimmer to create a great ambience. The dining room connects by way of a pass-through to the open and colorful fully-equipped eat-in kitchen. A counter at the pass-through holds drinkware, a bar sink, and a smaller TV. The laundry room is attached to the kitchen, with washer and dryer and utility sink. Off the kitchen is an enclosed porch with extra refrigerator, leading to the back deck, which has a patio table and six chairs plus umbrella. The open yard is shaded by a magnolia tree. There is a hammock and a small outdoor fireplace available. Upstairs: The master bedroom at the front of the house has its own master bath with two sinks and a tiled shower, and a queen-sized bed, two dressers, and vanity. Next to that is bedroom two, with twin beds, a vanity, dresser, and armoire. Bedroom three has a queen bed, and two dressers. There is a hall bath with shower down the hall. Bedroom four at the back of the house has a queen bed, and its own bath, with linen closet and bathtub/shower. Across from the hall bath is the door to the upstairs "sleeping" porch, which looks into our magnolia tree, and has some lounging chairs.

This house has been our haven and our gathering place.
What makes this House unique
We have loved bringing this house back to much of its original beauty, and worked to have our renovations qualified for historic recognition. Our furnishings are inspired by an older period, but are intended to be as comfortable as possible for modern tastes.

My family of 4 adults and 2 children had a wonderful visit for a week. The house is impressive, very spacious, clean, and hugely well-stocked from abundant linens, bedding, and all sorts of kitchen wares and ingredients. We were very comfortable and hope to visit again.
This is a WONDERFUL house.
This house has everything you could ask for in a vacation home. It's spacious so you don't have to be "with everyone else" all the time. It's comfortable and beautiful. We especially loved the kitchen and spent most of our time there sitting around the huge table or in the comfy chair, listening to music, eating, or talking into the wee hours. I can't compliment this house enough.
Thank you for your appreciative review. You GOT it about this beautiful comfortable house. We love it that it worked for you. Please come again!
This was our second year renting this beautiful home! The house is very clean, totally equipped with everything you need from kitchen utensils to beach towels, beach chairs, umbrellas and all. Loved sitting having coffee on the front porch watching the humming birds feeding on the Lantana. Centrally located easy walk or bike ride to everything in town. Lots of space with two parlors, 4 bedrooms and 4 full baths. We look forward to our next stay here! Julie is a dream to work with!
Comfortable, spacious (yet cozy), wonderful vacation home!
This home had everything we needed for a wonderful vacation in Cape Charles, VA. Our first visit to this little town could not have been more pleasant. From the large front porch for relaxing after beach days, to the well-equipped kitchen for family breakfasts, this home was perfect! We could not have asked for a more perfect fit for our family vacation.
Such an AMAZING place!
Me and my family cannot say enough great things about this property! It literally fit our family to a T! So many things to offer! 4 beds 4baths! Kitchen was so well stocked with oils, spices, and even things such as foil and plastic wrap! Trashbags, dish soap, even laundry detergent were already there! Absolutely loved the big comfy chair in the kitchen...it was great for hanging out while drinking your morning coffee! Front porch, side porch, back deck and upstairs sleeping porch what more could a family ask for?!? All of the furnishings in the two living spaces were super comfy and great for lounging on a lazy afternoon! This amazing house also provided super nice beach chairs, beach umbrellas and a rolling beach cooler! Bikes and kayaks were also free when booking this beautiful house which was a plus! This house also provided puzzles and card games not to mention paint and crayons for the little kids traveling with us! Hammock and fire pit in the backyard were also a plus oh and a grill! This house has been updated but in a way that kept the charm of the old town feel! This beautiful house took us back in time with its beautiful hardwood floors and gorgeous trim! If you are looking for a home to rent that represents the old town charm of Cape Charles this one is it! Our family would definitely rent this gorgeous house again without a doubt!
Lovely home. Very comfortable, spacious and well equipped.
This is a lovely home in a beautiful neighborhood. It is an updated Victorian home which combines the original features (high ceilings, pocket doors, beautiful molding) with modern updates. The bedrooms are nicely furnished and the beds are very comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped with lots of extras I wouldn't expect. There are a wealth of choices of places to hang out and talk; upstairs porch, downstairs porches, kitchen, two living rooms. The owner was a pleasure to work with, and the one mechanical glitch we encountered was dealt with immediately. The house is within walking distance of the beach, although it would be a long walk if you were carrying lots of things or had small children. There is free parking on the street next that runs along the beach (you climb over a slight dune to get to the beach, so you don't have to see the road/cars while you are on the beach.) We stayed four nights, but could have easily enjoyed a much longer stay.
