Guestbook comments from the owner

We spent months researching and planning in order to make our 25th Anniversary trip as perfect as possible. We considered many destinations and accommodations before discovering your apartment. The location and amenities exceeded our expectations. Frank & KC Courtnier, Portland Oregon.

Cozy pied-à-terre in Menton

  • 5 of 5

This was our third extended stay in Menton over the past decade, and this is now our preferred location in this marvelous little city. The apartment is even better equipped than we had anticipated and has all of the comforts of home. We travel lightly and trundled our roll-aboards to and from the gare routière (bus depot) in 15-20 minutes, but bus service is available to a stop within half a block.

The owners are excellent to work with, and it definitely makes it easy and convenient to communicate in English and to complete the transaction in U.S. dollars with no worries about extra taxes or charges.

Thanks to the owners' suggestion, we discovered Sainte-Agnès, the highest coastal town in Europe where you can view a part of the Maginot Line after a breathtaking bus ride up a series of switchbacks.

We returned to Ventigmiglia on its market day (the nearest train station is less than a 10-minute walk), and bought a huge hunk of three-year-old Parmigiano-Reggiano to bring home. Another day we went up to Roquebrune-Cap-Martin and wandered around the castle before lunching at Les Deux Frères.

In summary, Menton continues to be one of our favorite places in the world, and our first choice of accommodation in future will be Tom's and Marilyn's cute apartment. Merci!

This was a perfect location for January exploring in Menton, and the Cote d'Azur, from Monaco to San Remo, Italy.

The public transportation is easy to manage and very accessible. Your condo proved to be an easy place to use, with the right number of amenties.

We appreciated your help, Marilyn.

I think that speaks for itself. This was our sixth time and each time we stay longer. It is now up to two weeks and who knows what next year will bring.

I think the description and pictures are modest it is so much more! the apartment is attractive, comfortable and very well equipped. We even got to see DVD Midnight in Paris an unexpected treat.

Menton is a very interesting beautiful place to be.It is a walking town, dining town, shopping town, cooking town and just plain drifting and dreaming town. It"s proximity -about 10 minutes- to Italy is an exciting bonus.

I must say we don't go to Nice and Monte Carlo much anymore as everything is right where we are why bother.

The owners are extremely responsive and make it all happen with ease.

Enough said I just want to go back and so will you

Wonderful French visit!!

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was just a bus ride away from Nice airport. While it may have rained every third day the moisture did wonders for the micro climate that exists there. It was like spring with almost everything blooming. The accomadations were very cozy yet private, along with a clean secure building made for a nice stay. The kitchen was perfect for up to four adults cooking and just relaxing in the evening. We were agressive vacationers and travelling within Italy and France was a "breeze". The train was a short walk and we managed trips to Cannes, Antibe, Grasse, Biot, Fragingard, Monte Carlo, Ventimille, Bourdengan, San Remo and Dolce Aqua. With a few days of relaxing in Menton thrown in and seeing the sites and enjoying the excellent dining. My girlfirend and I had a wonderful time and I even swam in the Med one day when we had a temp outside of 72 degrees F. Marilyn was a great host from afar and everything worked out well for our stay. The bathroom was roomy and allowed for relaxing am/pm showering. The marche was close and came in handy for wine, food and those extra things as well.

Wonderful stay in a lovely unit!

  • 5 of 5

We were thrilled to stay in this unit for two weeks in July. The location is perfect and the town of Menton is quaint and charming. Much quieter than Nice and Cannes where we have stayed in the past. The owners of the building were sooooo nice and easy to work with as was the property manager on site. All in all a 5 star experience. My wife and I stayed with our 5 month old son at the time and it was a very enjoyable stay for all! The balcony is wonderful to eat your breakfast on every morning as well as have a cocktail or two in the evening!
