Stylishly furnished VILLA MIGUEL is a well equipped Scandinavian inspired villa laid out on one level for a relaxing family holiday, summer or winter, tucked away in a quiet corner of Cerros del Aguila with breathtaking mountain/sea views. The private pool is gated and you have the option of year round pool heating for an additional fee. Ideal for families with young children, the pool has a shallow end, catches the sun all day and is surrounded by extensive secluded sun terracing (you may sunbathe unseen) overlooking the sea and rural Campo. The entrance hall leads to an open plan breakfast kitchen, 2 bedrooms, house bathroom and spacious living room. The living room (WIFI, Freeview UK and flat screen TV) leads to the pool and terraces via a sun room with patio doors and then to master bedroom and en suite. The bedrooms have air conditioning/heating and the living room has a wood burner. Supermarket, bars and restaurant on the urbanization. A car is recommended with quiet sandy beaches at Sohail Castle 5 mins and La Cala 7 mins, Hypermarket 6 mins and 5 golf courses within 5kms.

About Ginny

Owned by a brother and sister and their respective families - one keen cyclists and the other keen golfers. We have been holidaying in the Mijas Costa area for nearly 25 years and have owned property on Cerros del Aguila throughout that period. Our children first learned to swim in the pool and holidayed on the sandy beaches below Sohail Castle and in La Cala just minutes away. The children have grown up now so our villa is yours to enjoy even for those peak weeks.

Why Ginny chose Mijas

Secluded position, the views, the layout of the villa, the views, the pool and by the way did we mention the views? This villa, one of the first on the estate, has been owned by only two families since it was first built. We can claim no credit for the villa layout - that is all down to the previous Scandinavian designers and owners who clearly knew what they were doing. They also designed the villa so that it would stay cool in Summer but could be used in winter - very few villas have the luxury of a wood burner. So there you have it, we love it and we hope you will too.

What makes this villa unique

There is great cycling from the door - whether you want to cruise along the Paseo early morning with all the joggers, ride to the beach at La Cala or take on the strenuous climbs to Alhaurin or Mijas. You can play golf on some of the finest courses in the world - many of championship quality. There are miles of award winning sandy beaches. But, if we're honest, our guests and friends have found it almost impossible to drag themselves away from the pool......oh and those views!

What a brilliant place to stay. We have had a wonderful relaxing holiday....just can't get enough of the views, so quiet and peaceful, just the birds singing....had everything we needed and more....a lovely cosy bed (the best we have ever slept in on holiday)....the best designed eating areas depending where the sun was and a cosy homely feel....real luxury. Home!! - that's what it feels like.....beautiful villa in a lovely tranquil setting. I like that our bedroom was quite private + you couldn't hear the TV when an early night was in order. Notes on accommodation: Owned by just two families since it was first built on a prime plot on the estate the villa is ideal for mixed family groups - with accommodation on one floor and a gated pool. Skillfully extended it offers flexible and very private sleeping arrangements (see floor plan in images), takes maximum advantage of cross ventilation in the Summer whilst the woodburner and radiators provide ample warmth for Winter evenings. The villa is well equipped offering great comfort with quality beds, pure cotton bed linen, and soft 'hotel' (600gsm) towels. There are lawned and paved areas for children to use for play all separated from the pool by gates. We recommend, for safety's sake, that children are supervised at all times and that adults are always extra vigilant when relaxing around the pool with children (especially toddlers and crawlers!) or non-swimmers. For very young children there is a paddling pool by the urbanization's community pool (open mid May to mid October) and the clubhouse. Outside: In an elevated setting the villa occupies a corner position offering a 180+ degree panorama over the rural Campo, fincas, mountains and sea. You can watch the horses graze, eagles hover and swifts dive. There are large sun terraces to 3 sides and around the large oval private pool (10m x 4m). There is a lawned garden area and rear terrace suitable for children's play, both separated by gates to the pool. The swimming pool has shallower and deeper ends making it suitable for children, swimmers and non-swimmers. The pool terrace is secluded - you may sunbathe unseen here - there are sun loungers, cushions, tables and chairs. The sea and mountain views from the villa, terraces and garden are breathtaking. From here you look across to the Sierra de Mijas Natural Park and Mijas village, watch the sun set over the mountains of the Sierra de las Nieves Natural Park, view the snow capped Sierra Nevada in winter and the Mediterranean Sea from Fuengirola to Benalmadena. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels (including pool towels) and linen are included. The property is cleaned prior to arrival. Please understand that access is required periodically each week to tend the private pool and gardens - we will try to be discrete! Other: The Sun Room offers a quiet area off the Living Room and leads to the pool and terraces. Here you can sit and read or take in the view. The Sun Room will also easily house a cot adjacent to Bedroom 1 with the en suite shower room.

A real home from home!

The villa is very well equipped and has lovely views of the surrounding mountains. The owners have thought of everything with towels supplied, books, games and much more. The pool is a good size and the option of pool heating is available. The whole villa is clean, comfortable and tastefully furnished. We'll definitely return.

Stunning Villa

We have just returned from a wonderful weeks holiday at this stunning villa. The interior is perfect and very spacious. It has everything you could possibly want! The exterior has plenty of terraces to choose from and the table tennis table was a big hit! Although the weather was lovely, the pool heating was a massive plus. The large trees around the garden had recently been thoroughly pruned which allowed for uninterrupted views, which were stunning.

Ginny and Peter were extremely helpful from booking to arriving. Thank you for renting us your beautiful villa - we hope to be back soon.

Excellent Just what we needed a home from home

This is the second time we have as a family visted the villa . Both times have been enjoyable stays due to its facilties and location. Its a short easy drive from Malaga Airport , close to excellent beaches , a large supermarket and shops .

In terms of customer service we cannot fault the owners , we had a problem which needed sorting , we emailed Ginny at home and the next day a handyman arrived to solve the issue , prompt and personal service as promised .

The Villa was clean and all the facilties mentioned were as detailed right down to the towels.

A definate sucess was the private pool to cool down in as the weather was in the 30 degree range all week. The new table tennis table was well used and a good addition to the villa.

La Cala de Mijas is about 5km , has a great beach , good bars and restaurants without the big town traffic or people.

We also used the onsite pool available to the Villa users and this has a good bar and restaurant a short walk away if you fancy a beer.

All the shops and beaches are no more than 10 minutes drive max so no long drives required, we had a small micra drove it all week and 13 euros in petrol was the bill!, even better no parking charges anywhere we went.

All said we would revist for third time and may well do so

Perfect !

When you rent a villa for a holiday you are looking for somewhere which you settle into immediately - enter "Villa Miguel".

The owners have given a lot of thought to making the interior comfortable , well equipped and ready for purpose and you just relax as soon as you walk in the door.

Outside - you would struggle to find a better view from any terrace in Costa del Sol. The views of the mountains - up to Mijas are beautiful and you can even get a seascape from the corner of the terrace.

The pool is lovely and the sunbathing areas are all secluded and private. Due to being raised up you can catch a breeze which is most refreshing (and necessary in the hot summer months).

Everything you need for a great holiday is provided - you just have to supply yourselves. (oh and a car is a pretty much need to have)

Overall a one word summary - "Perfect".

lovely villa in a stunning location

The villa was really comfortable a genuine home away from home. The showers are really powerful, the kitchen really well equipped and of course the views are spectacular. there are numerous terraces so you can really enjoy the outside space throughout the day. We would definately stay again. highly recommended.

Having just returned from Villa Miguel after having 2 wonderful weeks, I would like to thank Ginny & Peter for sharing their holiday home.

There was five of us aged between early twenties an mid seventies and the villa suited all our needs. Villa Miguel is tastefully decorated throughout and not only is the kitchen well equipped, but the whole villa is well equipped, that all you would really need to take is a few clothes.

The pool is wonderful and is in the perfect location on the villa plot, with the views being absolutely stunning. Villa Miguel is good value for money and we will all be returning.

My recommendation is that this a 5 star villa and we did book up early, but it was worth waiting.

GET OFF TO A FLYING START - Malaga is the nearest airport just 20 minutes away by car. A hire car is recommended but it is possible to catch a train from the airport terminal to Fuengirola and then a taxi to the villa.

AWARD WINNING LOCAL BEACHES - Offering sunbeds, chiringuitos (beach bars/restaurants) and free showers. Fuengirola has 7km of beaches from the quietness of Sohail Castle (just 5 mins drive 4km away - free parking and barbecues) to Los Boliches. Or why not try La Cala - a delightful seaside town (just 7 mins drive 5.5kms away - free parking) with 3km of quiet beaches, free play area, wide choice of restaurants and a beach cinema one evening a week during peak Summer!

PLACES TO SEE - We can thoroughly recommend visits to Mijas Pueblo 10kms, Marbella 25kms, Puerto Banus 35kms, Ronda Mountain Village 85kms and Gibraltar 100kms. With fast motorways and an early start Granada 165 kms and even Seville at 235 kms can be visited in a day. There are several outstanding natural parks inland including visits to the Guadalhorce Lakes, El Chorro gorge and spectacular mountain drives through the unspoilt white mountain villages of the Sierra Nevada Alpujarras.

URBANISATION FACILITIES ON YOUR DOORSTEP - There is a lovely restaurant bar on the urbanization overlooking the lifeguarded communal swimming and toddler paddling pools, (communal pools open mid May to mid October) tennis court and football area. There is a wide ranging and good value menu. There is also an informal "cafe culture" tapas bar at the entrance to the urbanization and a well stocked supermarket on site offering bread freshly baked on the premises.

DINE IN STYLE - As well as the urbanisation resturants you are spoilt for dining choice in Fuengirola, La Cala and the surrounding area. Try especially the tapas bars frequented by the Spanish locals in the old quarter of Fuengirola just off Church Square and the nearby Cafe Costa del Sol with the best churros on the costas - just order one each - they are big but great value!

SHOP 'TIL YOU DROP - Extensive shopping is located just 4 kms away at Parque Myramar Shopping Plaza also housing the Hypermarket, Cinema (English films shown) restaurants and extensive range of fashion stores. If you crave more retail therapy there are weekly outdoor markets in Fuengirola and La Cala and outlet shopping, restaurants and entertainment in Plaza Mayor by Malaga Airport.

LOTS TO DO FOR ALL THE FAMILY - There are various attractions close to the villa with Costa del Sol Racecourse and Karting 5 mins away, Water Park (water slides etc) 10 mins, Fuengirola Zoo 10 mins, Tivoli World fun park and cable cars 20 mins.

WANT TO BE ENERGETIC? - There is a climbing wall and zipwire just 5 minutes away at Sohail Castle together with

daily and hourly cycle rental. Both Fuengirola and La Cala have seen dramatic increases in cycling in recent years and are readily accessible by bike from the villa; Fuengirola offers traffic free cycling on the promenade. There is more challenging riding inland of the coastal strip both on and off road. We can recommend a local guided downhill mountain biking operator to make the most of your bike riding. They cater for all levels of ability from novices to hardened thrill seekers - at very reasonable rates.

OR WHY NOT DROP IN ON THE MILLIONAIRES' PLAYGROUND - Finally to sample designer shopping, go celebrity spotting and people watching or to admire exotic cars and super yachts then Puerto Banus is a must.

The initial payment is non-refundable however we will reimburse your deposit if we re-let your dates less any re-advertising costs and rental shortfall arising from discounts offered.

Changeover day - during late Spring, Summer and early Autumn months the changeover day is Saturday but during the rest of the year we are very flexible.

To make the villa ready for guests the earliest arrival time is 4.00PM please depart by no later than 10.30AM.

Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds and include air conditioning, WIFI, cleaning and linen. A "get you started" shopping pack tailored to your requirements (and charged only at supermarket cost) of essential and breakfast items can be provided if you are arriving late or on a public holiday so please let us know in advance.

Prices are negotiable for long term winter bookings.
